We have been staying at this hotel since 2003. We keep coming back because it is just like being home. The staff has always bee 1st class> I do not understand why this has to be 200 characters when I can say it in one word. EXCELLENT.
Just spent one night at this hotel and the service, cleanliness, and food at the fine dining restaurant were top notch. Would definitely recommend as an excellent start or finish to a tour of the Gaspesie vacation. We were two couples traveling by car. The superior ocean view rooms on the second floor facing the water were just what we needed to get into vacation mode. Just a few minutes drive to the beautiful Jardins de Metis (Reford Gardens) which is a must see.
We highly recommend Le Gaspesiana as a ‘first stop’ on a tour around the Gaspe. The accommodations although not luxurious were very comfortable, with a great view out over the St. Lawrence. They were very accommodating with helping us during the unexpected hurricane. The staff were very courteous and friendly. Wonderful stay!
We're on our way back to Ontario from Nova Scotia. While mapping our route we came across this hotel on Google Map and we thought this would be a nice and different establishment than the usual business hotel by the highway or those chain hotels in downtowns - and boy are we in for a surprise. Check in: No greeting, no smiles. I was handed the old-fashioned key and was told the general direction of my room. Nothing about check out time, code for wifi, breakfast etc. Room: There are a handful of flies buzzing in the room and a few more in the bathroom. Sand on the floor. Bins of dirty laundry linger in the corridor into the evening. No aircon, one commercial grade fan in the room that is extremely loud when switched on. Scratched and threadbare furniture. Broken door chain. Check out: A nod. No au revoir/merci. We fled without breakfast and we won't be back. …
Booked through Expedia. My husband and I stayed here one night on our way to Prince Edward Island. We were in room 104, a small unit on the ground floor (dog-friendly). Attempts have been made to renovate the space but she’s kind of tired and in need of a proper face lift. Bathroom was comically tiny; like, “stand up to wipe” tiny with a sink outside by the bed. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and equipped with everything we needed (even if towels were tiny and bleached within an inch of their life). We booked a non-smoking room but there was an ashtray dumped out on our back veranda and every time one of the cooks would sneak out for a cigarette (which was often), our room would fill with the thick stink of smoke (room entrance was right beside the back door of the kitchen). Small inconvenience but also kind of gross, from a guest experience perspective. The outside of the building is in desperate need of a sand and paint job and many dated fixtures need to be replaced. That said, what this hotel lacks in upkeep, it absolutely makes up for in scenery and charm. Being right on the Saint-Lawrence is such a treat. Sainte-Flavie is a beautiful spot with many quaint shops, local artisans, craft beer, and the best seafood this side of the maritimes. Our room had a breathtaking view of the water, including a little table and chairs out back; perfect for wine and sunsets. Take a walk on the adjacent pier and absolutely do not miss the Sainte-Flavie Cantine, which is basically across the street. They get very, very busy this time of year, but the wait is totally worth it. Lobster rolls as big as your head, poutine piled high with the freshest Matane shrimp, club sandwiches packed with local crab, as well as standard chip truck fare. Stay at Le Gaspiésiana if you’re looking for a cheap overnight, walking access to all kinds of local delights, and a relaxing retreat by the sea.…
By the sea and at a very good price , very clean and beds comfortable, definitely recommended just no micro wave no air dryer and no air conditioning but I didn’t need it really , renovated and well done
Enjoyed delicious clam chowder along with lobster club sandwich, both were superb! Great friendly service by Claude, was much appreciated. Great view of high tide ....St Lawrence river front view was spectacular was well. Our second visit here!
Food was really good. Had the lobster sandwich, husband had the trout daughter had the poke bowl grandchild had the chicken meal, son in law had the salmon. We were all very satisfied with our meals. Maple cake desert was heavenly. They put us in a closed room with views of the seaway. Staff was so friendly.
We stayed here one night. We had a room on the first floor. The room had a sliding door to a deck with nice chairs. It was beautiful. Easy access to the beach. The view was nice. There was a lot of fog , I can only imagine on a beautiful day. The room was clean but dusty. The headboards had dust all over it. I used to be a maid so I notice these things. The bathroom was renovated and clean. We ordered room service for supper and breakfast and best food ever! A bit expensive but if the food is great I don’t mind paying. Portions are big. Hotel staff were nice. Would definitely go back.
A very clean hotel well situated as you enter La Gaspesie. It is very quiet at night, you just hear the waves. The personnel are pleasant and it is a pet friendly hotel. Each time we head to La Gaspesie we always stay there. The restaurant is excellent but was not open yet due to Covid! I most definitely recommend this establishment
