Chez Ric & Fer Suite B&B **** is a lovely high standing Bed and Breakfast located in the upper city of Coucy le Chateau, a lovely fortified village in the Picardie area, right in the heart of World War I's trench warfare places.
To help locating the village on a map, Coucy le Chateau is in Northern France, at the crossroads of Paris, Reims and Lille.
Chez Ric & Fer Suite B&B **** is situated in one of the city's oldest houses which was rebuilt with the castle's stones right after the bombings of World War I.
The house used to be the village's chemist's shop during the 1920's. Giving a modern twist to its ancient style thanks to a high-end vintage chic interior design, this house allows you to take the most of French history as well as elegance through its 1970's inspired design.
Whether you're shy, talkative, hungry for history, a music or photography fanatic, Richard and Fernanda will be only too pleased to welcome you and make your stay the most enjoyable.
We were on a biking tour from Maastricht to Paris. The hosts Richard and Fernanda were vers kind and we truly emjoyed their hospitality. Besides this we had very inspirational conversations, A true French experience.
This was our first stay at Chez Ric et Fer and it couldn't have been more pleasant. Our hosts were very welcoming and very communicative prior to our stay. There 3 lovely and slightly quirky few B&B rooms, each with their own character. All were very clean and comfortable, with ensuite, and all of a good size. Breakfast was outside and was more than enough, including fresh fruit from our hosts garden no less! It looks like we had the best accommodation in our group - and perhaps the best in the town - as others stayed at the hotel Belle Vue and their experience could not have been further from our own sadly.
Stayed for two nights whilst visiting Folembray track just down the road. Excellent place to stay. Friendly and helpful hosts. Really good accommodation. Good breakfast. Nothing whatsoever to fault. Undoubtedly the best place to stay in Coucy.
Stayed here for 2 nights and it was exactly what was wanted - the owners were friendly, the room and ensuite were large and nicely presented. Breakfast was served in the pretty garden and was just right - a mixture of the normal (croissants, yoghurt, juice, coffee etc) plus fruit from their garden and homemade jam. Parking right outside and in a pretty french village. Would definitely stay again. (Limited food options for the evening locally - a reasonable pizza place and a "difficult" restaurant in the hotel)
After driving through the fog for several hours we reached Coucy late in the afternoon. It took us a while to find the building in the gloom! It is on the opposite side of the road from the Post Office. Ric and Fer are warm and welcoming and so was our room. Grommet the cat also said hello! The bathroom is modern and both rooms were clean as a whistle. The bed is very comfortable with proper pillows and we both slept well. It was a bit tough for us to work the telly but we managed. A delightful place to stay.
