This hotel was GREAT! The staff was very kind and more than willing to go out of their way to help us. They do charge 10 euros per hour for early check-in, but they were willing to hold our stuff in a locked room, free of charge, while we went and explored Amsterdam. They had brought our bags to our room for us too. The receptionist was wonderful and was able to give us travel directions. It is a short walk from a nearby Sprinter train station, and there is also a bus stop right outside the hotel. We had room 126, which was a triple room. It was the only one with an outside balcony. There was also a kitchen and large living room. The bathroom had a shower and a bathtub. Located walking distance from restaurant and a shopping center.

A very satisfactory stay. Food excellent with attentive service. Stairs are a little bit cramped but overall we will go again. We Thank the management for the hearty breakfast for us to take on our way home. - Grahame Smith. England

Our contract was renegotiated to our disadvantage when it was too late for us to find another hotel for our group. We were told they were child-friendly; however, children are not allowed at all. We felt 'penny-pinched'.
No-one in our group felt welcome, maybe that was because we were treated as disobedient teenagers rather than the well-behaved, mature group that we were (average age between 55 and 65 years old...)

A very unfriendly female owner! Though the food is very nice (although the breakfast is very poor; no fruits or cornflakes) and her son knows what hospitality is, we won't recommend this hotel to anyone. The owner is not at all flexible and gives you a snear if you wait to long to mention at breakfast what you want for dinner!
It's a very old hotel, with cracky floors and tiny rooms. It's very noisy (we heard our neighbour snore the whole night) and they ask a supplement if you want a bit larger room.

We had bought a Hotels guide (ANWB guide) were this hotel was rated as a 3star hotel and so, without checking ahead we booked a night there. We arrived late, with no time for further options! For a 3star hotel the room had no TV, telephone, hair dryer, space and cleaning conditions. The bathroom was tiny, and not so clean (specially the fan above the shower, full of old webs). The bed mattress was OK but the blanket was old and stained. It was impossible to keep our bag open and move around. The carpet was also old and stained. On the other hand, the dinner room was cozy and the meal exquisite. Nice place to have dinner, but not the best spot to stay overnight.
