The room was a little odd. Yes it's very different but having the bath right to the bed was weird. I suppose a third person could have slept beside us in the bath? And the bathroom with no door.. I like to have some privacy when I use the bathroom so I really didn't like that. For breakfast, the owner...

Warm welcome. Comfortable room, the design of which was slightly bizarre but if you don't mind sitting on the loo in view of the bed it is quite acceptable. Excellent dinner, good local beer and wine. There are some parking spaces opposite, one euro per hour from 8am until 5pm. If full, there are many roads to park within 200/300hundred...

If you are staying in Lahr then this is the place to book a room but we came for the food this year. The restaurant serves great tasting dishes. The cuisine is varied. The chef that makes the food knows what he is doing.

Welcome was very sober. The room was ok. A bit strange in setup, but clean and I liked it. I didn't like that I stepped into a nail that was sticking out of the old wooden floor. I mentioned it the next morning and I guess it will be fixed for someone else's stay. I also didn't appreciate that when...

The Hotel Zum Loewen is a good option for those visiting Lahr. It is located in the town centre - mere steps from the old Rathaus and the main shopping area. The staff of the family-run establishment were friendly and welcoming. The room I had was recently renovated, incorporating many new features and amenities, but retaining the rustic charm of...

The hotel had a lot of positives. The location is excellent, right in the marketplatz which was perfect for walking around and taking in the culture. Close to shopping and restaurants. The staff was very friendly and helpful and spoke English. Paid parking was close. The wifi was strong. Beds and linens were clean and comfortable. The rooms were a...

Great location for walking around the town. No elevator, rooms up one floor. Exotic Green room with tub by bed. Cannot get out on that side of the bed. Fun to sit in tub, and good shower. Cannot sit up in bed because no wall behind pillows and large painting behind part of it. Nice big bed, must have been...

We spent only 2 days, but it was great, perfect location in the middle of the black forest (Schwarzbald), next to Freiburg, Strassbourg, Heidelberg and very good food! Strongly recommended! It's a small a familiar hotel with a extremely good service! The hotel is in an old building but just renovated! Very stylish decoration! Very good value for money!

This hotel is not listed under restaurants for some reason. However, we had the house menu today for E9.50 and it was a great move. Good cauliflower soup, decent salad and a very nice schnitzel with mushrooms. There followed a small ice cream desert. All very nice and at an excellent price with good service.

We enjoyed our stay at Residenz zum Lowen in Lahr. The hotelier was very nice. He arranged for someone to be there when we arrived (we missed our train and our original meeting time). He did not speak English, but he did speak German and French - we got by in French. He was kind enough to offer to drive...
