For the third time we stopped in Thiers on the journey from Italy to Arcachon. The gourmand restaurant and breakfast are always excellent, as is the comfortable and quiet room. We will definitely come back next time.

Good experience at Le clos Saint-Eloi. Breakfast was excellent and served with special attention. We had to leave the hotel very early but the staff took care of us ensuring a good breakfast earlier than usual service hours. Thanks for this specific attention.

Stayed here for one night on the way from England to Spain, The room we were allocated was very nice, we ate in the restaurant and had a wonderful meal, perhaps a little expensive the same as the wine but it was very enjoyable, The staff were excellent, The following morning we had breakfast and I am sorry to say I helped the owners dog to a few treats, We then spoke to the owner and thanked him for our visit which was very nice, we also toldd him that in September we were travelling with other Bikers on this same route and would be staying one night in September on the way down, He asked us if we would like to eat in a seperate room from the restaurant, which would help him as well, we agreed. He asked if he could do a restricted menu for so many people sitting at the same time, we also agreed to this, he stated that he would have three selections for each course, I said that if it was any help, if he sent the Menu's to our trip organiser we would get him what everyone wanted so to help him prepare. This was exactly as we like to do things and its helps the hotels, We left the hotel feeling very satisfied, and reported back to our tour organiser as to what had been arranged, we left the hotel to continue our journey. Later that day I was quite ill and had to stop in a services, but I am not sure what caused this. PLEASE SEE MY NEXT REVIEW OF THIS HOTEL FROM SEPTEMBER

First impressions were good, the room was okay but not 4 star. We had booked in with a group for a 3 course prepaid dinner which was supposed to have a 3 option choice. There was no choice and only offered a fish main course which was inadequate, inedible and tepid. It was a take it or leave it attitude. We were refused a la carte. On checkout , €190 for 1 night , the owner/manager was dismissive, rude and arrogant. We will never stay here again. There worst experience of our trip to France and the worst dinner I have ever had in a French restaurant

Dear Roble!! If you was disappointed, be sure I was the first to be disappointed by your attitude during your stay. To be clear with all reader of this blog, it's the 4 comment I receive from your very disorganise group. On January, one of the leader of your group request for a quotation for a group with diner. I made a quotation for a half board arrangement but due to your bad organisation, you never accept this proposal. Few weeks later I receive 10 different individual reservation in half board arrangement. Three days before your arrival we committed with the supposed tour leader to organise a diner in a private room for your group. In the half board arrangement, never it was mention that it will be a choice in the dinner. You was (all the group) horrible and impolite with the waiter who tried to give you satisfaction. Why don't you made a reservation for the room and made your choice to the restaurant, it was an option but more expensive. You could not have the butter and the money of the butter. I am the owner and believe me since 1988 I am hotel owner it's the first time I have to talk who bargain asking a discount otherwise the will made their comments on Trip Advisor. By chance 99% of our clients are satisfied with our services

I will start with the positive, the room was fine, the parking was fine and the reception was also fine. Sadly this is were the positive ends. The bar prices are extortionate, two local beers 21 euros. The meal was a set meal with no choices unless you complained that you were vegetarian, then you got the fish course with no fish. On complaining the following morning we (20 people) met an ignorant, arrogant manager who has never been wrong (or polite) in his life. I can only suggest that you avoid this hotel "like the plague".
