Booked for 3 days with our in-laws. Although it is nice and restful, and all that you need, the price is a bit high for what you get. The price we paid was not R200pp as mentioned in a previous review, we paid a fair bit more than that. We have dogs and my in-laws as well, but getting stormed...

First impressions: Getting away from Durban a little earlier than expected brought us to Acorn Cottages an hour early. This wasn't a problem however as Skarlien already had everything ready when we arrived. The exterior of the Barn Owl cottage reminded me of a little 1950's train station with the working baggage scale out the front, shuttered windows and decorative...

We stayed at Acorn Cottages after my husband ran the comrades marathon. We were looking to relax and hike in the mountains. That is exactly what we got and more! I don't know what the bad reviews are on about! For R400 a night for the both of us, this was beyond our expectations. For a budget price we got...

We had a relaxing two day stay at Acorn Cottages. The owners were welcoming hosts and they ensured we had a wonderful stay. It is a really great place for children to enjoy a taste of farmlife with the property having a donkey, horses, sheep, pigs and chickens, as well as dogs and cats. It is a beautiful setting and...

When we booked this place there was nothing mentioned about the amount of dogs thecowner has, 9 dogs and 4 cats that cone barking evrytime you go outside. The owner was also not very friendly. Always talking about the crime and how unsafe SA is. The farm house wasnt very clean, lots of spider webs, also the matress of the...

We had a wonderful time at Acorn Cottages! Look forward to visiting them again. Definitely taking with the kids next time. Lots of space to run around and see all the farm animals. A beautiful piece of land with lots of potential and friendly hosts.

Deon, Skarlien and their family were wonderful hosts during our recent visit to Acorn Cottages. It was refreshing seeing all the hard work the family is putting into the farm they recently purchased. We look forward to going back to see all the developments they are planning to make the farm an ideal destination for young families.

We stayed here for two nights in June 2015. I was really worried about our visit given some of the poorer reviews and so was pleasantly surprised. The property has recently been sold to Deon and Skarlien, who together with their daughters and young son gave us a warm welcome. We especially appreciated that the girls led my two daughters,...

We stayed here over Easter 2015 and it was a huge disappointment. Nothing more, nothing less. Poor to no view of the berg. Not a nice place to have a proper "kuier" with family. Not recommended!!! 2 star...

We stayed at Acorn Cottages in August 2014. There were 6 of us, my family and another couple with their son. We stayed in the self catering cottages. These were basic but comfortable. The property is very quiet and nicely maintained. Herman was very helpful and accommodating. Acorn Cottages is central to most of the attraction in the Drakensburg. We...
