We had lunch here on our way to Wales and back! The restaurant is in an old school and is really attractive, old wooden tables, all sorts and wooden chairs. The bar looks lovely, the staff were really helpful. They have a list of 366 gins with a ginspiration menu, gin specials and dozens of special gin bottles on display....

This Victorian school house has been tastefully converted into an excellent pub that provides accommodation in the Headmasters house next door. This traditionally English pub provides freshly cooked, locally sourced food and on the menu are good old favourites such as game terrine starter, steak and kidney pie and steamed sponge pudding for afters. Although it caters for passing business...

Stayed overnight with friends at this wonderful pub. A very imaginative conversion of a Victorian schoolhouse has resulted in a comfortable and quirky pub which boasts the largest Gin collection I have ever seen! Dinner, after a small (!!) gin tasting, was very good, kidneys in a mustard sauce, spicy pork pies , Thai -style curry, home made burgers, and...

Wow!!! What can I say. What a place. Food was excellent, atmosphere great. All the staff very friendly and helpful. The Edinburgh gin and rhubarb trifle is to die for. I would highly recommend this place.

Brilliant service, ambiance of the room was phenomenal, an old school with wonderful character, really tasty well presented food, pity we had to wait to be served, but well worth the wait, dog friendly.

We didn't book a table but only waited a few minutes before we were seated, the staff were friendly and welcoming. We placed our order and soon our sharing starter came. However after some time and several other tables that had arrived after us had been served, we decided to remind them of our presence, our mains arrived with an...

We hadn't booked but found a table easily (Friday) but later it got busier & not so many tables. We were welcomed by a lovely coal fire there was a few well behaved dogs that was not a problem. This is what makes it a lovely cosey & atmospheric place to be. Of course not forgetting the staff who are...

We have just had a stay at CA. The food was great and the pub itself is cosy, interesting and generally ticks all the boxes. The Gin list is amazing. However, we stayed over and the room was very tired looking. I would describe it as on the Shabby side of Chic especially the bathroom. The mattress was very hard...

I have visited this pub a few times in the past but normally only for drinks outside in the summer. We called in, on this occasion on the way back from a weekend away, and decided to have dinner. I chose a beef dinner and was not disappointed. The beef was very pink, just how I like it and the...
