Detailed Reviews
The hotel has some old school charm with decor from yester year. The staff are friendly and welcoming.
The room was well furnished and cleaned daily.
The buffet breakfast was sufficient and tasty.
The hotel has a lovely pool and bar area, which also sells food.
The hotel is a ten minute bus ride from Corfu town and the stop is right outside the hotel.
We had to leave for the port at 5am on our last day so we forfeited breakfast. It would have been nice to have been offered coffee at least or a breakfast pack to take with us,as other hotels do for their early departing guests .
Overall a pleasant stay at Sunset Hotel.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Sunset Hotel for the past week. The hotel itself is very nice. The room I stayed in had everything I needed, especially the AC was a godsend in the week I was there. The dining hall is spacious with a welcome section on the outside as well. The pool is pretty big with plenty of seating around it. It even has a small kiddy section just off the side of it. Across from the pool there is also the bar which had solid options for food and drinks. The indoor bar was closed at the time, but the owner told me that it should open up again around the fall/winter time.
Breakfast was overall good, though a bit awkward due to the whole Covid situation. Nothing was really missing from what you would want for breakfast and I had a solid meal every day. The staff was helpful and friendly. When asked they had plenty of suggestions as to what to do around the island and they even helped get me on a boat tour to Greece's mainland.
The hotel is situated just outside Corfu's old city centre, making it quite easy to get to the city centre and back. There is bus stop just outside the hotel, so you can easily plan a daytrip to Paleokastritsa. If like me, you are travelling alone or with a small group of adults, I'd suggest renting a bike or a scooter. It really makes it easy to get around the town and parking won't be much of a hassle.
The hotel had an overall family friendly feel about it and is quite quiet at night due to its location, which will definitely not be the case inside the city centre. It has everything you would want from a hotel and I would not hesitate to go back there when visiting Corfu again.

We stayed at the Sunset for 2 nights at the start of our week long tour of the island. Great location just outside Corfu Town with the number 7 service stopping at the door. Very clean and good value for money in my opinion, we also enjoyed the buffet breakfast. If you are on a budget and looking for a base to explore Corfu town, you could do a lot worse than the Sunset.

I would like to point out that unfortunately the travel agency chose this hotel for us, describing it as a central location surrounded by various activities but this is not the case. The outside of the hotel is really well looked after, inside everything appears very dated. The rooms are small and dilapidated, with dated and ramshackle furniture. We were booked into a quadruple room, equipped with a bunk bed and a double bed, a tiny bathroom, without windows or extractor fans. A positive note is the small terrace overlooking the swimming pool; in the evening when we returned to the room there was always an unpleasant smell. The pool was regularly cleaned but despite this the water always had a cloudy appearance and there was an annoying smell around the pool. Other positive notes are the hairdryer, air conditioner and mini fridge, which work very well.
The two girls at the reception were very kind, especially the one who also speaks Italian, super nice and helpful, she helped us a lot but one of the men was rude, not at all cooperative and created problems for me as I had given him the key to return for the car rental and he denied having received it. This had already happened another time, one morning I asked him to keep the car key for me for breakfast, then my friend went to ask him to return it and he denied having received the key. But I say, everything OKAY?!
The location is central between north and south, but it is very desolate around, furthermore we had been told that it was close to the sea, but that sea is not suitable for swimming.
There is the possibility of taking the bus to go to Corfu town and Ipsos, with a stop right outside the hotel.

We arrived late just for an overnight stay. We booked for the pool and the free breakfast. The pool was closed and empty… the breakfast was awful coffee machine which needed a good clean out… eggs that had been sat out for hours and hard at the yolk. Bacon cold and milk/ yogart looked old. Bearing in mind I’m 6 months pregnant travelling with my 6 year old… we didn’t touch it all for fear of being sick.
The hotel doesn’t look like the pics it’s been left to become run down and outdated. The rooms are dirty and nicotine stained. Light fittings hanging loose above your head.
Wifi didn’t work and power went out in the middle of the night leaving the air con then to be off.
Location we didn’t pay much mind to as only staying one night. But did notice in a built up area.
After a long journey this is not what we wanted to see…. The place should be condemned.
Reception staff were helpful. The kitchen/breakfast staff uninterested and rude. Stay away!

Kindest and most generous hotel. Our family was evacuated from northern Corfu and headed south toward Corfu Town. The Sunset hotel had no vacancies but didn’t hesitate to open up the lobby lounge for stranded families. They even provided pastries and coffee in the morning for free. They went above and beyond and showed true Greek hospitality.
Despite not staying in a room the lobby entrance and loos that we used were immaculately clean and well presented. Thank you Sunset hotel.

We stayed here for one week and it was a good choice. The hotel is situated on the main road and there is a bus stop right in front of it. The room was not very big but had a nice balcony. The best thing was the AC as it was very hot outside while we were there.
The breakfast is good as well, with multiple choices. But the best thing was the staff - very helpful and friendly.
The pool was the biggest surprise, so nice and clean.

Very good hotel for its class! With a nice pool and wonderful terrace to enjoy the rich breakfast! Good air conditioning and clean rooms!
Although a little old furniture, it has all the package and everything you need to enjoy your holiday!

Hotel away from the city center towards the north. Functional but without any charm on the edge of the expressway. Correct welcome. Cramped and noisy rooms. Buffet breakfast. The only asset of this hotel is a very nice swimming pool.
Bring earplugs.

I booked for one night, and stayed a week because I was so delighted by the Sunset Hotel and Corfu. The Sunset Hotel is a lovely, clean hotel about 8 mins bus ride (on the blue bus No. 7) to the Old Corfu Town. The rooms have lovely clean sheets and towels, and the rooms are cleaned every day. The hotel has excellent WI-FI in the rooms and throughout, it provides a lovely breakfast 7am-10:30am (including eggs, bacon, ham, cheese, croissants, fruit etc, tea and coffee). The pool is magnificent - to swim or to lounge beside; and the adjacent bar runs til 11pm (and can provide bar snacks in the summer). There is a noise from the road that it faces, but if you shut your shutters and window, you can't hear a thing. Over all it is not just great value for money, it provides a fantastic link to all the north bound bus services. The blue bus (No. 7 from Corfu town to Ipsos etc) stops right out the front, as do the north bound green buses (to many wonderful beaches like Paleokastritsa; and to Nisiki etc) all stop about 100 metres south of the hotel. These services run til about midnight and this means you do not need to hire a car to explore the island; or connect with the green buses heading to the southern side of the island. You can also catch a bus from the airport to Corfutown and then catch the 7 straight to the hotel. I would also like to give special thanks to the excellent staff at the Sunset Hotel, especially Dimitris and Violetta who go out of their way to accomodate and help guests, answer our many endless questions day and night and provide advice about Corfu - thank you so much also to Mrs Fontini & her son Mr Polites the wonderful owners of the hotel.
