Hotel looks nice on the outside but rooms are very basic. Bathroom doubles as a shower, water heater doesn't work so ice cold shower. The bed, while very hard was actually quite comfortable. Bedding was clean. Breakfast included at the attached restaurant. Quite cool in the morning so good cools off quite quickly and looses its appeal. A little fruit,...

This hotel is in a beautiful location overlooking the Mekong River and although the hotel itself isn't anything amazing, it's a perfect place to stop when travelling to Luang Prabang and is great for a one night stop over.

This is a simple hotel in the simple riverside town of Pakbeng. Most guests here will be staying overnight to break their journey along the Mekhong River between Laos and Thailand. It is not a luxury hotel, but is a great deal better than I'd feared given the price and other reviews on here. The room was a reasonable size...

When the boat docks you are rushed at by people wanting to carry your bag up the hill to the hotel. Thankfully our guide sorted this for us. Rooms are quite small and dark and very basic. No tv...not that it bothered us....you really wouldn't expect one anyway. Water was not even warm and the young staff were not very...

If you are taking the slow boat down the Mekong River from Northern Laos then you do not much option but to stop at the Pakbeng and until 2017 the Phetsokxai is the best available. It is not great but it is clean, the water in the shower did not need to be hot anyway and the bed was OK....

Pakbeng is pretty much a Backpackers stop for the night traveling down the Mekong River. The rooms are small, basic (very), but quite clean and ok for the night. The AC worked but was noisy, the WIFI was off, broken I was told. The breakfast the next morning was basic but acceptable for this type of accommodation The views from...

Stayed one night on a group tour travelling from Laos to Thailand. The hotel was very pleasant, clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed staying in this special location and had a lovely dinner on the verandah. The room was basic, but it was clean and had very good internet connection. I would recommend this hotel to my friends and travelling...

Shower didn't have hot water and very very basic room and bathroom. Internet only in the hotel lobby which seemed like the family living room. Pakbeng is a small place and not very touristy so I assume this is as good as it gets. Breakfast was basic too.

Stopped here for one night en route to the Thai border by boat. The room was awful really (see photo); dark wood walls and ceiling. Turn the lights on you say? I did. It was a 15 watt bulb I think - made no difference. Open the curtains? The windows are covered with dense mosquito screens and are about 12"...

This is a basic hotel suitable for overnight accommodation if you are passing through. Arrived by boat from Mekong River. Good central location. If you are used to backpacker accommodation you will not be surprised. Tip - use wifi in lobby. Check all your lights work in your room. Make sure you have a torch
