We just returned with our family of 6 (4 kids from ages 7-14). We loved our time on the Luang Say Cruise. First of all, I have to comment that this was one of the best deals of the trip -- kids were half price, but we were given 3 rooms at each of our stops (admittedly, we travelled in...

The lodge is an overnight stop on a slow cruise of this scenic part of the Mekong River. The rooms are bungalows situated on a hillside overlooking the river and, while rustic, they are charming and perfectly adequate for a nights stay. The buffet dinner was good and the traditional dancing by local children was enjoyable. Overall, a pleasant stay.

I have gone on the Asian Oasis cruise twice--both times the route was from Huay Xei to Luang Prabang. It is the downriver cruise. Asian Oasis is a very professional company and handles all details such as prepayment, visas, etc very efficiently. The cruise itself is lovely and the Luang Say lodge is beautiful. The first time there were six...

Hotel was in lovely situation and individual hut rooms were fine. Not plush but we did not expect that. Excellent buffet dinner and ok breakfast. As part of the upriver Luang Say cruise it is only a shame that you have so little daylight time here. The cruise was ok but I dot see it as value for money compared...

This lodge was the half way stop. It was friendly and welcoming. The beer cold and the food hot and tasty. The bungalows were comfortable but it was cold at night and a heater or hot water bottle would have been welcome. The grounds were great with an organic vegetable garden and trees and shrubs everywhere.

Luang Say Cruises has this, its own, lodge near, but not in Pakbeng, and also the luxurious "Luang Say Residence" in Luang Prabang (more on that later). The transfer for our group of 4 Canadians across the Thai / Laos border went seamlessly, but at the to-be-expected local pace. No rush, no concern, as our Luang Say guide (Mr. La)...

Getting across the Thai/ Laos border from Chiang Khong to the origin of the Luong Say cruise is a slow and drawn out affair. However it is worth the wait since the cruise is a delight. Just sit in your comfy " berth" with a gentle breeze keeping you cool and take in the sights. Relax, sightsee, read, have a...

Travelled for two days and one night from the Thai border to Luang Prabang. It was incredibly peaceful with stunning scenery. We were very well looked after on the boat, with excellent food and drinks, and comfortable seating to enjoy the views. The lodge was beautifully positioned above the river and we woke up to distant elephant trumpeting. It was...

We stayed here as part of a 3 day cruise down the Mekong from north Thailand into Laos. The whole cruise was probably the highlight of our holiday and the Lodge was magical. Attractive chalet-style rooms and delightful setting. Pleasant evening meal and attentive staff. Only note of caution is the clamber up to the hotel from the boat -...

A two day boat trip from Huay Xai to Luang Prababg and overnight stay at Luang Say Lodge combined. My husband rated this as one of the highlights of our trip, aided by a lovely guide, Vue Lee. Unwinding on deck as the Mekong swirled (literally) past us. Navigation demanded a constant sharp eye. Majestic scenery. Lodge was very comfortable....

The Luangsay Cruise is a journey through remote mountainous stretches of the Mekong between the Golden Triangle and the royal old city of Luang Prabang.
