We were on a two day Mekong river trip from Luang Prabang to the Thai border. As days are short in November we arrived at the lodge in darkness and had to leave early to rejoin our boat trip. In the short time we were at the lodge we could see that it is a wonderful place to stay. Steep...

We loved our river journey from Huay Xai to Luang Prabang and staying overnight at Lyang Say Lodge was a highlight. Located at the side of the Mekong one kilometre from Pakbeng town, the lodge is designed and built very much in keeping with the surrounding countryside, the appearance, ambience and views are quite fantastic, A beautiful dark timber structure...

We stayed at Luang Say Lodge for one night during our cruise to Luang Prabang. The lodge is gorgeous. It overlooks the river but is situated basically in the jungle. When we first arrived, we were a little underwhelmed because it was just so hot! But we loved our room (#14), which had a little private deck and beautiful shutters...

As a half way stop on the Luang Say River Cruise, this is just like an African safari lodge. Bungalows are basic but perfectly comfortable. The dinner and breakfast though are OUTSTANDING! Dish after dish of beautifully fresh Lao food arrive at your table. Breakfast was just the same and you are encouraged to try dishes you may not have...

We stayed one night here on our Luang Say Cruise to Luang Prabang and absolutely loved it. The Lodge is situated right on the steep Mekong river bank with views of the misty mountains opposite. The individual teak bungalows are spaced well apart, roomy and our bungalow was river front (highly recommended). The room was large, clean and well maintained....

I can't imagine why anyone would visit one of the poorest countries in the world and come away criticizing and expecting the 5 star treatment you might find in the Western world. After all, isn't that why we visit other cultures , to try to experience another way of life? We found the beauty of this lodge overwhelming, and were...

Like many others, we stayed overnight as part of the excellent Luangsay Cruise travelling up river (with only 4 guests) on the first trip in July. We were met on the riverbank by the two hotel porters, and as we had read previously, had only our two cabin bags with only what we needed for an overnight stay. Please, it...

We stayed here as part of the Luang Say river cruise. A beautiful spot perched above the Mekong river. No aircon but the rooms are set up so well it didn't matter the ceiling fan was more than enough. If mozzies like you then make sure to take some mozzie repellent, they do provide you with a small bottle in...

We stayed at this lodge halfway through our 2 day cruise down the Mekong with Luang Say Cruises. On the boat were only about 20 people, so not overcrowded. The bungalows are back to basics, which was a good experience for us. Although it was very hot in may (we were aware of this), the ceiling fan helped cooling down as...
