When we were greeted, we had the feeling that we were not really welcome. We were given a few brochures and off we went to our room. We had a suite because unfortunately there were no other rooms available. The door opened and it felt like 30 degrees. There was no air conditioning in the whole building. An old room with very old furniture was sold to us as a luxury suite. We were really very disappointed. The only nice thing was the view. Dinner was at 7 p.m. You had to be on time otherwise there were no more starters for a five-course meal. It was my husband's birthday and we were looking forward to the meal. We were lucky there was a gala meal. It was very tasty. As a small birthday gift, there was a candlestick on the table with a bouquet of artificial flowers and a scroll. We have never experienced anything like that before, as we both have birthdays in the summer and we often associate them with holidays. There was also no free bottle of water with dinner. As the meal takes at least two hours, you are sweaty in the summer...the only thing that was really nice was the location and the friendly service...

We could have chosen anywhere in the world for our honeymoon but we chose to come back to Kristall. The setting is superb with a relaxed pool atmosphere in the day and excellent food. It's good value, too, but remember that drinks are not included in the very reasonable half board price.
Kristall sits above Meran at a height sufficient to take away the heat of hot hot summer days. Good walking locally and accessible ski lifts in neighbouring ski villages.
It's a great hotel with a genuine care for its guests.

We picked the Landhaus Hotel Kristall primarily for its location in the Italian Alps and for its apparent cleanliness and quality. It turned out to be one of the best accommodation choices we have ever made.
The Kristall has an excellent kitchen and restaurant. Both kitchen and waiting staff cannot do enough to cater for personal needs and preferences. Each week they present different menus for each evening; Sunday is a 7 course gala dinner, Saturday cocktails to start, Thursday features fish. The food is generously portioned and varied.
Rooms are to a good standard, spacious and clinically clean. Note no air-conditioning. Nice pool area. Limited fitness faciities but with the whole of the Alps at your back who cares...! Spa afcilities non-existent, but 3 minutes walk to the next 4* hotel gives you a real quality beauty and wellness facility.
