English/Deutsch/Castellano The Coco Bongo Hostel is a decent and economical little place. The dormitories are $10, they are clean and the beds comfortable. There is a kitchenette only it includes neither a fridge nor any cutlery or pots/pans. It's very central to Bahía, close to the museum (during my stay it wasn't yet reopened from the earthquake) and the Malecon...

This is the best place in Bahia for traditional American food. Best hamburgers and fries, and great breakfasts at reasonable prices. Breakfast is $5-$6, huge burger and fries for $6. relaxing atmosphere, friendly English-speaking locals and travelers.

Having traveled around most of Ecuador I have found a place that makes an unbelievable American style hamburger. Formerly Hostel Coco Bongo, now called Coco Bongo Café and Confusion is that place. I honestly don't recall ever having a better burger. My favorite was the one third pound bacon, lettuce, tomato and cheeseburger. Cooked perfectly for just $5.75 including fries....

I have been many times for breakfast & it's been ok. This last was expensive for what we ordered. Our little one had pancakes with little bowl of fruit topped with yogurt. She has had before. This time it made her very sick. Immediately after eating her fruit she was vomiting. I know it was the yogurt. I have not...

So sorry to hear about your daughter. I've owned CoCo for 4 years and never have had a problem like this before. We wake up at 6 in the morning and go to the market and pick out the freshest fruits and buy a new yogurt every day. The Kitchen is very clean and is open so everyone can see...

This was one of the first places that I went to when I first visited Ecuador. It has changed a lot over the years to include all different kinds of food from breakfast to beer. I have personally tried their pizza and was very pleased. Their breakfast plates are huge you could probably share one between 2 people. The coffee...

The Coco Bongo does not rent rooms anymore. It is under construction and will rent apartments instead. I am not sure if it will be long term or not. The restaurant and bar are open. The food is good and so are the drinks.

I stayed at Coco Bongo for 4 nights when I visited Bahia. It was a great hostel/hotel, with reasonable prices, tasty food, attentive staff, and comfortable, artistic decor. I stayed in a dorm style room with 5 other travelers. It was cozy but low cost so I didn't expect luxury. The breakfast was delicious. Some of the other patrons were...
