I stayed at Coco Bongo for 4 nights when I visited Bahia. It was a great hostel/hotel, with reasonable prices, tasty food, attentive staff, and comfortable, artistic decor. I stayed in a dorm style room with 5 other travelers. It was cozy but low cost so I didn't expect luxury. The breakfast was delicious. Some of the other patrons were...

Have been there on various occasions and would like to strongly recommend a visit when you're in Bahia. Friendly staff managed by Luis Miguel, best pizza in town, cosmopolitan atmosphere and great drinks with good selection of music . Perfect place to stay.

The bar and restaraunt downstairs has good food and atmosphere. The rooms upstairs are small, hot, with little to no breeze,as you cannot open the windows because mosquitos come in the "sreen-less" windows. They do put a plug-in mosquito coil in upon check in, that should have been our first clue. For the price you can go around the corner to...

Fab location in Bahia next to the park, and the pizza is seriously amazing, better than had in the UK, US and Italy. I only ate here so can't comment on the rooms but the restaurant is bright and funky looking and even if wasn't, the pizza is worth a visit alone!

First, if you're looking for a four star hotel experience, with mints on the pillow, etc., this is not the place for you. This little hostal in Bahia de Caraquez instead offers a great home away from home experience. It doesn't try to be a big hotel - what it does try to do, and does very well is to offer...

I've been to Bahía de Caráquez a few times now and Coco Bongo is my favorite place to stay. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff is very helpful. The pizza is delicious and it is far and away the best breakfast I have had in Ecuador, or even South America for that matter. It overlooks a beautiful...

My stay at Coco Bongo was awesome. I definitely recommend this place to anyone and everyone. The rooms are really nice and clean. The staff is super friendly, helpful and knows good customer service - a quality I have rarely found in Ecuadorian hostals. They have a full bar and AMAZING coffee, their frozen coffee is better than Starbucks. When...

I spent 5 days at CocoBongo last week and had a great time. I'm a breakfast guy so that plays a huge part in my experience and I wasn't disappointed. Everything I had was better than I expected and I always looked forward to the next breakfast. Try the Aji Espresso if you are into hot things! I usually had...

when I first moved to the coast of ecuador, coco bongo was a always growing place. the new owner, sean, immediately started to improve food, coffee, atmosphere, etc. right now, 11.29.14, the coffee has become awesome -- I adore espresso. service has improved impressively -- my ashtray is constantly emptied and cleaned, music continues to become more interesting and fun,...

Someone stopped us just as we were about to enter and book another hostel and recommended CoCo Bongo instead. She told us that it was clean, inexpensive and lots of ExPats stayed there. We decided to try it. The restaurant entrance was very inviting with its murals and funky atmosphere, however the room was a huge disappointment. It was not...
