We had a great weekend with family. half staying in the hotel and half in the Family lodge.

First the hotel. the hotel was ok good rooms. and breakfast was arranged very well with the Covid rules.

The lodge is good for 2 families of 5 with all the kids staying in one room. the living and kitchen are ok. and outside a great wide open view of the dunes and a place for a fire. also parking nearby and a small walk to the beach. same for the hotel.

But the first night our negbours had a party and we could hear every word of it even though we were sleeping on the otherside of the house.. the walls were like paper...

after going over there for a second time they were quieter but is was 2 am al ready. So don`t put 10 party adults next to a family...

in one of the adult rooms there was a terrible old bed that tilts so we had to put a folded magazine underneath to make it stable. But also the springs were worn. So please replaced that bed. the beds in the other adult room were fine.

also the side door to the parking you cant lock it and it is easy to open from the outside.

This hotel is at the very end of the solid land - just behind the dunes that seperate it from the ocean. You can walk into/through the dunes starting directly from the hotel and you can watch this dune scenery from the breakfast and dining room.
The hotel is nice, well equipped and modern. The team is really nice, friendly, relaxed, polite. The breakfast is tasty, tasty, tasty, tasty! Everything is from lokal producers, self-made, outstanding quality! A dream!

The place is cozy and clean, 100m from the beach with an amazing view of the dunes. Great for groups or big families.
The hosts were flexible and showed enourmous hospitality. We enjoyed our stay and 10/10 would recomend and go again.

We spend the night at the family hostel Sand that is part of hotel Camperduin. The check in was at the hotel reception. Staff was friendly and both the hotel and the hostel are located beautifully. The hostel itself was a bit disappointing; the digital roomkey we got via whatsapp worked only the first time, the 2nd time we couldn't get into our room and someone had to come with a keycard. The shower cabin was very small and with very bad shower (hardly any water and spraying in all directions, making everything wet), no hooks to hang towel/clothes on. The couch in the room was dirty and contained the pretzels of a previous family. The hostel is very noisy and the halls echo a lot, the doors creek very loudly so we could hear all other guests coming and going. Nevertheless, the beds were good and the location was worth it.

Nice menu, great breakfast. 5 min walk to the Camperduin beach area. Many walking/running/biking routes in this area. Highly recommended for a weekend / midweek break or longer Holiday.

Perfect stay in the studio appartments. Lovely setting, good service. Excellent beds and shower. Walkinng distance from really nice restaurants and beach clubs. Beach itself is just a few minutes down the road and has a wonderful lagune for swimming.
In the morning we had a lovely breakfast outdoors; all fresh and lots of choice.

The hotel is a 5 minutes walk from the beach and close to fascinating dunes and a nature reserve. A small cluster of a dozen holiday houses, etc… surrounds the building.

The aprox. 20 Mile (30Km) long ( North-South) nature reserve known as the Schoorlse Duinen has amazing scenery, fauna, and flora. Roads and hiking paths are well kept and signposted.
During the season, there is a wide range of restaurants (Strandpaviljoen) available on the beach and one at the centre of the reserve (The Berenkuil – only small snacks and beverages available)

The hotel has limited (free of charge) car parking space, but opposite the hotel there is public parking that can be booked in advance on the Camperduin site. Rate: 3,5 Euro per day.

The building itself is small, with typical Dutch architecture - only 2 floors including the ground floor, and has a total of 26 rooms. No elevator. The majority of the rooms are tiny and most of them give the impression they recently had a light (though in our opinion unfinished) refurbishment.
We found the hotel basic but very clean.
Odd numbered rooms have a great polder view and get the evening sun.
Even numbered rooms get the morning and noon sun and have a view of the dunes. Ground floor rooms have a small terrace with a table and 2 chairs.
In the rooms you find: some rooms with a 15 inch CRT TV others with a small flat screen TV, a non-functioning telephone, tea and coffee making facilities, and a free of charge safe in the small wardrobe. Most of the rooms have a walk-in shower with a few amenities (soap dispenser in the shower, shower cap etc…). The room doesn’t have a fridge, but cool beverages can be bought at the self-service fridge next to the reception.

The beds have good linens and rather soft mattresses.

A free of charge computer is available in the hall.
Excellent free wifi throughout the hotel.

The table-served breakfast was fine, with bread, biscuits, cheese, cold cuts, jam, eggs, fresh orange juice etc… There is a very quaint outdoor breakfast terrace with (only) a few tables.

The hotel restaurant is next to the beach and therefore you have to walk a short distance to have a meal. Limited choice of dishes on the menu. Absolutely charming service and great views.

There is a small 2-person sauna & a steam cabin in the basement at 17,5 Euro per session.

On the hotel internet site, the pictures are very professionally taken but they give a more sophisticated impression than the reality of the hotel.

We thought that the room rate was slightly too high for the service offered but it may be understandable due to the proximity of the beach and the nature reserve.
The reception staff is very friendly (though not present at night time, the manager can be reached by a phone at the reception desk)

For a future visit to the area, we would gladly return to this

This is a great place to get away from it all - just 100 metres to the lovely sandy beach, the very good Struin Restaurant for dinner and a surf school, plus cycleways. Rooms are functional and the place quiet for a good night's sleep. Breakfast was very good but disappointingly commenced rather late at 08:30.

This small, quaint hotel provided our family was fantastic service. The location, a very short walk from the beach was ideal. The dunes were spectacular! Breakfast was included in the very reasonabe price, and it was great! I'd highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay near the beach.
