We only had a two night stay to recover from a 36 day cruise from Australia, but what we were treated to was amazing. Matteo and Charlotte are to be congratulated on the work they have done to set La Piève up. The food was excellent, local wines a treat and the assistance we got to find different places and... Just back from a very pleasant 6 day stay at La Pieve Albergo. The room was very comfortable and very clean. We ate each evening on the terrace overlooking the nearby vineyards and oil groves from where we could see the lights of San Gimignano in the distance. The menu was just right and it was great to try the... More

Having been to La Pieve to eat or just have a glass of wine on 3 previous visits to Italy, I highly disagree with the previous post. It is a very charming, lovely place to visit or stay. We stay at a Villa down the street and always eat at La Pieve and the over flow of people who travel... More

Such a shame. Lovely view from the terrace during the day (although we did not realise we were so close to a huge cemetery just around the corner until it was lit up at night!). There is no soul in this place....dull basic motel style bedrooms with office style blinds, kitsch reception area - a 70's time warp. Even the... More

Considering that when you and your friend Eric were here, you were giving us compliments on everything from the place to the food and wine, and you then post a review THIS negative, we have reached the conclusion that it was merely done to harm us in order to “help” your friend Eric, who is the manager of another 3-star... Everything from the views from the rooms to the staff to the food - oh the food!! My friend and I decided to take a girls trip to Europe and we stayed at La Pieve as well as ate out most wonderful meals there. Charlotte took care of everything we asked her to, including helping us get to and from... More

My wife and I wanted a cosy, romantic weekend where we wanted a fair price, good service, location, food and wine. This hotel ticked all of them and more. It's like being in a romantic comedy film. What a great experience. We would definitely recommend it to anyone not just for the wine tours but for those young at heart... More

France is probably the number one country in Europe providing reliable and ample organizations for the use of tourists. France has the Maisons d'Hotes, the Gites de France, the Logis de France even the infamous Chateaux et Relais organisations and others. You can choose any kind of accommodation at any price and comfort level and be assured of the promised... More

We (2 couples) stayed here for four nights in July 2013 as a break in our euro-tour. The location is great for exploring the Tuscany region and Castelfiorentino is a typical Italian non-touristy town with a good rail link to Firenze. The patrons, Matteo and Charlotte, were very welcoming and quickly made us feel at home. The food was excellent,... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel La Pieve, an old farmhouse, has the ideal location: overlooking on one side the beautiful Tuscan countryside and the ancient Pieve [parish church] of Castelfiorentino, and on the other side it's only 500 m from the old town. Our 10 cozy rooms are equipped with every comfort, and in the summer time you can enjoy your meals, a drink or just a snack out on our romantic panorama terrace, which has the most stunning view over the suggestive and enchanting Tuscan landscape. Tuscany is a land of great gastronomic tradition, which you can get to know better, appreciate and enjoy thanks to the varied and tasty treats of our restaurant, which offers a menu full of delicious regional specialties. Do not miss our homemade pasta and our grilled specialties such as the Florentine T-Bone Steak. La Pieve is an ideal base for visiting the area's numerous ancient cities, rich in art treasures, the characteristic medieval villages, churches, castles and off course the lovely Chianti-hills. Furthermore, compared to the places of major tourist attraction, Castelfiorentino is an oasis, where you can discover the real, authentic Tuscany: like at the Saturday market in the central square or wandering around the small characteristic streets of the old town and breath in the Italian atmosphere. You can comfortably leave your car in our private parking, because hotel La Pieve is only 700 meters from the railway station, from where you can easily reach Florence, Siena, Pisa, San Gimigniano etc and discover what the area has to offer in terms of art, culture and crafts. The hotel is family-run directly by us, Charlotte & Matteo. And with our experience, courtesy and availability, we will do our best to help you make your stay here unique, and give you an unforgettable experience of Tuscany. ... more   less
