I will keep this short and sweet. This is the only hostel in the small town of pulmamarca, most travelers are only there for one night when passing through and it is the perfect place to stay if you're on a budget! It has absolutely everything you need for the night at a fair price. The beds are SO WARM,...

We were travelling as a group of three and allocated a room for 4 for 170 Pesos per person including breakfast (coffee + bread + marmalade / dulche de leche). The showers and rooms were clean and the people running the hostel were nice and helpful. For some reason (previous fire?) they removed all plugs from the rooms, but you...

One of my most pleasant hostel experiences. This small, rural and welcoming hostel, run by an elderly couple is a perfect place to stay in Purmamara. The facilities were great and it was a great place to escape to and experience the rural village life. The lady was absolutely brilliant. She spoke to me for hours about her life and...

Only stayed here as i was catching a bus through to Chile early in the morning so moved across from Tilcara. It was the only 'hostel' we were recommended, and did serve a purpose, but mama coca herself is a serious chain smoker, meaning the whole place stinks, linens included. Breakfast was basic but at least something was included. Pretty...

I spent two nights at the Mama Coca hostel, the location is excellent, as it is where the buses stop. There is a large communal area, when you get in, which unforunately, I could not enjoy as it was in a fog of smoke, as the owner, her friends and relatives, and some hostel guests were smoking intermittently. When I asked...

Purmamarca is small and expensive. You'll get around one of these by staying at Mama Coca Hostel. It's a simple but nice place a few blocks back from the square. Staff are young and friendly. Don't expect too much for your meager hotel bill - shared bathroom was kept generally clean and rooms not massive. Wifi works though. A local...
