This charming lakeside resort is composed of three historical buildings: among them one was a former monastery and another a house of the “Baron di Sant’Agabio.” Suites are decorated in the Lombardy style with breathtaking views. Lake-facing bedrooms are found on four floors—all are charming. Additional guestrooms look out to the swimming pool, as do ten self-catering apartments that can accommodate from two to four persons. Ferries leave from the dock in front of the hotel.

With it's lakeside location looking at the Alpine mountains this is a wonderful hotel to relax and unwind. Our flight into Malpensa was delayed and the car hire company Inter Rent offices were closed, we therefore did not arrive until the early hours of the morning, the night

Stayed 7 relaxing nights. The first night we heard singing and went into the bar. Every nationality was singing old American songs with such joy. It was so magical. The view from your terrace will take your breath away in the morning and at night. Extremely reasonable. Just book

How do I get there from Milan?
The hotel can arrange a car to pick you up from the airport, we were quoted €135. Instead we booked seats on the Alibus for €15 each person from Malpensa to Verbania Intra, see the safduemila website for Alibus bookings and the stresasights BlogSpot gives more information about the Alibus service. Intra is on the same side of the lake as Cannero Riviera but further south. From here there are ferries to Cannero Riviera (download the timetable for Arona to Locarno on the Navigatione Lago Maggiore website for ferry times) Or catch a local bus which cost us about €4 each from Intra to Cannero Riviera. You catch the bus at the same place the Alibus drops you off in Intra. If you have heavy luggage as we did you may find it easier to get a taxi from Intra to Cannero as it is a little difficult getting suitcases onto the local bus. Enjoy Cannero Riviera, it’s a beautiful spot.
