Rooms are quaint but clean and comfortable. We had been traveling for 2 weeks when we got there and this was the most inexpensive place we stayed - we were leery but pleasantly surprised!. Best perk is the outdoor areas and the bar - which was always full of fun locals. This is certainly on my "return someday" list!

First asked a staff member outside for a table. Then he walked away without an explanation. Then a few minutes after another waiter came and asked if he could help. There was no more room outside because a little concert was in preparation. We were seated at a table inside. The room is very old fashioned and not very clean....

Locanda Milao is a rustic hotel in the town Brunate over lake Como. The flags out front are a little worn and so is the hotel for better or worse. The hotel staff were nice. The room was small but adequate. Certainly without luxury but clean. The bathroom was quite small, while there was a bidet, the toilet was on...

On a recent trip to Italy with family, we opted to stay in Brunate instead of Como for the few nights we were in the lakes area. We selected Locanda Milano based on reviews, price and availability. We were glad that we did. My wife and I got the room with the terrace leading out from the bathroom. We were...

We want to say a big thankyou to Roberto and the other staff who came to our rescue when we got into trouble on the road (Our van was much too big for those conditions but we didn't realise that until it was too late!) If you are looking for somewhere to stay in Como we're sure you will be...

We enjoyed staying at this property very much. We drove from the Milan airport and had a GPS unit which made the ascent to Brunate easier. One thing we found is to beep before the switchback turn if you are driving to alert any oncoming traffic approaching that you may not be able to see because of the sharp curves....

After traveling around Europe for 3 months this was by far the best hotel yet. Peaceful location on top of the mountain overlooking the beautiful lake, brilliant customer service (friendly and felt very welcome), very clean rooms, an amazing free buffet breakfast and a great holiday away from a holiday! Keep up the good work! Jordan and Hannah from Australia!

Stayed here for the first time several years ago, because we left the booking late and couldn't get a hotel in Como at a decent price. Stayed here this time as our first choice, and will certainly do so again. The location is great, 7 minutes from the centre of Como via the funicular, but in a quiet, atmospheric village,...

Went for a two night break with the family and had a very nice time. It is on the hillside above Como within easy reach of the town and lake shore. We ordered a family room (for 4) but they made a mistake and instead offered us two doubles right beside each other which worked out very well. This is...

Access to Brunate is via a steep, narrow & winding (but sealed) road that takes you up to a spectacular location high above the sprawling & busy city of Como. Once up there, access down to the city and lake is easy via the funicular which stops near the hotel. Apart from the pedestrianised centre of the old town I...
