I am a travel blogger and influencer and travel the world. I do my due diligence by checking tagged images on social media to see the hotels I’m staying in. I knew the hotel was not going to be top tier but, like most of the reviews here I was disappointed. Small factors like there are no ironing facilities in the hotel and you had to go to a communal room to iron and the rooms are outdated for the price. But I lived with that inconveniences as I went out of the hotel for all my activities. When I checked out the porter dropped my bag, the driver Laura and the other guest (my sister) saw him do it and because I’m a content creator I was filming myself leaving the hotel and by default had footage of how he handled my luggage which o sent to the hotel. I actually complain about a scratch and he denied it and said it came like this: When the driver dropped us off at the train station ( I filmed as soon as the driver left) I noticed the extreme damage to the bag from the wheel to the aluminium casing is on the same side that the bag was dropped. The suitcase was new (I supplied the invoice) and I had to travel to travel out of como on the train carrying at 25kg suitcase as the wheel was damaged and I couldn’t drag it. The manager mr buttie review my claim via email asked for my bank details as they admitted to the fault and since that day (September 2023) I have been ignored when I send WhatsApp to concierge and follow up emails. My first trip to como was ruined, I had such a back ache from carrying the suitcase, embarrassment as I had to keep asking strangers to help me. Ruined paid content plan as a content creator and very part of your trip is content and now I couldn’t film content because I was lugging a suitcase: I had to replace it with a cheaper bag so I could continue my travels and these people specifically the manager acted accountable just so they could silence me. Very disgusting I advice you carry your own suitcases as they seem to be understaffed and they have been a few reviews on the staff being rude!

Overall really disappointing. The mattress was really soft and difficult to sleep on and there were multiple cockroaches in the room. The hotel staff was not particulary helpful either. On the day we were set to depart we had asked the desk attendant in the morning to help book us a taxi to take to the Como train station for an evening train. When we came back that evening to collect our bags before our departure we found out the desk attendant did not book us a taxi after saying he would arrange it for us in the morning... this resulted in us having to call one ourselves and ultimately missing our originally scheduled train and having to book a later train at double the cost.

The hotel rooms are clean, well-appointed and spacious. The service from all staff was fantastic. There was free WiFi. There is a hotel restaurant and car parking. The restaurant food was tasty. We did not make use of the spa facilities but this was also present in the hotel.

I really don’t understand some of the poor reviews for this hotel . This was our first time in Lake Como and the hotel was fabulous. It has the style of a traditional Italian villa with lots of marble and large rooms With high ceilings . The gardens are lovely and they lead to a well lit tunnel that goes across to the swimming pool which Is directly on the lake - probably the most beautiful setting for a swimming pool. There is s nice cafe at the pool. Breakfast is excellent and can be taken in the garden when the weather suits. We were in a modern room in the newest part of the hotel . It had a super king bed and really well appointed en-suite. Balcony overlooking the lake was a real treat . The Spa looks really well equipped although we didn’t have chance to use it . Lake ferry terminal is close to the hotel for exploring the wider area. The staff were really helpful before and during our stay Overall a brilliant holiday and highly recommended.

This is a beautiful hotel with great bites of the lake and restaurant/pool right on the side shore with private dock. Service was very good as was the food and cocktails. The ferry is just steps from the hotel as are several restaurants. Highly recommend this hotel.

Beautiful hotel! Staff was really great as well. The only reason for 4 stars not 5 is they have no convenience items on site if needed. I was in need of feminine care and had to take a $60 cab ride to get, not even someone from hotel staff had to offer for time being was really odd to me that they did not offer such items from behind desk or have a store on site for guest to purchase.

I can not understand the recent bad reviews as we just spent 3 nights as a pre-cruise add on. We met many others on the same trip and all seemed as pleased as we were. Pool was great, drinks were great but expensive, breakfast was fantastic and a dinner there was very good. We asked for AC to be colder and they adjusted promptly. Location is wonderful and room was clean and just what we needed. Restaurants nearby are great and Church up the hill was beautiful. The only suggestion I make is to put a better ladder to get back up the steps if you swim in the lake. We needed assistance to pull ourselves up even though we are in good shape; the first step is just too high out of the water. I would however return here if in the Como area.

The hotel is similar to the Grand Budapest Hotel in the Wes Anderson film. It’s chaotic! We arrived on a very hot day to take advantage of the ‘glamorous’ pool in the photos on the website. Hot and bothered bathers were required to share about 5 umbrellas. With countless empty umbrella stands, I asked the pool staff whether there might be any more somewhere out the back. They replied with embarrassment that there weren’t and agreed that the situation at the hotel was bad. Considering the hotel costs close to $1,000 AUD a night in the peak season, I’m sure that they could afford more umbrellas. The furniture in and outside the hotel is tired and in need of a major upgrade. Television is small and basic, with very few viewing options. This hotel should not be rated 4 stars.

I was really looking forward to staying here and thought that with this cost there would be a certain level of standard. There was no air conditioning! I live in a much cooler country and even I have it. They don't have it in Italy?? How is this possible? The walls feel paper thin and noise carries through easily. Do not recommend at all!

A beautiful location and polite, helpful staff. The spa was well worth the money - I had the whole place to myself! The only downside was transport back to Moltrasio in the evenings as last ferry was quite early and bus/taxis very limited.
