It was great to have you both to stay and you timed it well with the weather. Glad you enjoyed the stargazing/planetgazing evening - we were lucky there was a semi-clear night when you stayed. Thank you for your very kind comments about your room, the breakfasts, the service and the location of the hotel with its stunning views. Jane...

Hotel standard accommodation and restaurant with the personal touch of a friendly family run B&B. My wife and I celebrated our 20th anniversary at the hotel our hosts Jane and john were very welcoming, knowledgeable in terms of the local area and john was clearly an excellent chef as the food we enjoyed was first class. The hotel is located...

Our quiet country house is a fantastic base from which to explore the hidden delights of Exmoor, whether by car or preferably on foot. There are a myriad of paths from our doorstep taking you out onto the moor and hills and with distances to suit the keenest or less adventurous. Whatever your preferences are, the fresh sea and country...

It’s difficult to do more than reiterate what others have already said, in terms of the understated elegance of John & Jane’s small, excellent inn. The rooms are airy and bright, and John’s cooking would be a delight anywhere. (I thought the fish preparations were all especially good, for either breakfast or supper.) This hits the sweet spot of elegance...

We had a three night stay and it was extremely enjoyable. Excellent food, very friendly owners and staff. The restaurant isn't open midweek which is a shame as john is a very good chef. The full English breakfast was superb!

Thank you for taking time to post a review. As both Jane and I are very much hands on owners, we are only able to offer our restaurant service Wednesday to Saturday, but we are glad you enjoyed our breakfasts. We look forward to seeing you soon, to sample a dinner!

We've just returned from a fantastic four nights at the Dunkery Beacon Hotel. Having arrived slightly frazzled, we left refreshed and stress-free. The location is perfect for exploring the stunning scenery and after a long day of taking...

John and Jane are excellent hosts who are knowledgeable about the area and have put great effort into creating a comfortable and interestingly furnished hotel with tea and scones on arrival.
