Having last been in Kefalonia 26 years ago I expected some change to my holiday experience there. However I was not expecting Skala to have been totally Anglicised. OK for those who want The British holiday experience abroad but for someone who appreciates the food and culture of other countries this was a real disappointment. The Annasa hotel was clean...

Stayed next door but had a tour and ate/drank at the Hotel. Hercules , Claire and Nic give you a brilliant reception and nothing is too much trouble. location is superb and we'll certainly be back. If you are going to Skala make sure you check Hotel Anassa out. You can book apartments S/C or stay in hotel.

first time visitor to skala but certainly it wont be the last...The anassa is everything you want in a hotel, brilliant location opposite the beach, fab infinity swimming pool and wonderful friendly staff. Our fave part though was the bar,run by claire hercules and nic(nothing was too much trouble for any of them) and hercules curry night on saturdays gets 10/10.

Recently arrived back home from another relaxing holiday at the Anassa. Everyone at the hotel works hard to make sure that you have a memorable stay, whether it's the owners Effie and George or the staff. Hercules, Claire and Nectarius run a fabulous bar whilst Daniella, Vangelia and Eddie make sure that the rooms and grounds are pristine, not forgetting...

We had room 116 and enjoyed the view overlooking the sea and pool but you do get more noise from the people downstairs at the seating area and the noise from 9 Muses. We usually came in at around midnight each night and the noise would be fine thereafter. The shutters on the balcony helped quiet the room as well...

The Anassa feels new, contemporary and very welcoming and is well located 5 mins from the main street in Skala, but far enough away to be nice and quiet in the evening (when there isn't weekly entertainment at the 9 Muses next door!). Effie and George have created a very friendly atmosphere and all the staff were helpful - I'd...

We have just returned from a brilliant 2 weeks and WOW! this place is amazing. I cannot say anything more that has already been said in previous reviews. The warmth and friendliness of all the staff is what makes me want to return. They genuinely care about their guests greeting you on arrival (with a free drink) to the moment...
