Detailed Reviews

This accommodation is located in the central square of the old town of Ibiza. It is basically more like a guesthouse than a hotel, as it only rents out rooms, but each room is very beautifully designed with an art-oriented style and is unique. The owner apparently handcrafts each interior. It looks great in photos.
The size of the room is a little small, but it is clean and very cute, so there is no problem. You can see the square or the castle from the room, and the view is great. The water is not strong, but it works well. I stayed in a room with a bathroom, but the shared toilet and shower room are very clean and have a nice interior and are always available, so I don't think there is any problem with sharing the bathroom and toilet.
The receptionist is not there at night, so if you check in after 7pm or check out early in the morning, you will need to contact them in advance to make arrangements. The receptionists are all kind and make you feel like you are staying at someone's house, not at work.
The biggest problem with this accommodation is the stairs. The room is on the fourth floor of a building with no elevator, so you have to climb four floors every time you go in and out. It is quite tough when you come back tired. It's hard to lift and lower suitcases, but if you ask the front desk, they will use the luggage winch in the stairwell to lift it for you.
If you're staying on business or looking for a variety of hotel services, I'd recommend elsewhere, but if you want a unique room in a historic building in the heart of the old town, and want to feel like you're living in the city, this is the perfect place. The shared spaces and rooms are very stylish, so I would highly recommend this hotel to women as well.

The situation is ideal for exploring Ibiza town and especially the old town, known as Vila Dalt. The rooms are situated on the fourth floor of a modernized building set between two pedestrian squares full of shops, restaurants and tapas bars.
The rooms are quaintly furnished with mod cons, comfortable beds and heating/air con. However some of the rooms share a bathroom and there is no lift so not suitable for those with a mobility problem.

Room Tip: No lift but views are superb and La Cava is excellent for drinks and tapas just across the square.

The rooms were beautifully decorated, the price was affordable, and the location was excellent. There are 250+restaurants within 1km, right next to what looks like a fashion district. I have friends who may be coming to Ibiza in September for their honeymoon and I recommended this place.

This is by far the best place to stay in Ibiza. Not only it is bang in the middle of everything but the owners have taken great care of it for over two decades and it shows in the attention to detail and the personal touches. I have stayed here many times in the last 16 years and even there are other, flashier places, in a city as shallow as Ibiza interacting with real, lovely people is an anomaly. I hope this place lasts forever. Luis and Lia are incredible human beings and for its location it is a real bargain.

A real hidden gem! Found this charming guesthouse completely by chance. Really unbeatable for value for money. I was travelling on my own, so opted for the single room, and it had absolutely everything I needed. I never found the shared bathrooms occupied when needed, and the whole place was cool and clean. I was visiting friends that live out here, and whenever I mentioned to a local that I was staying here, they all agreed that it was the best place to stay in the centre of town. Wouldn’t hesitate to book here again!

Such a good location! Pay for a suite room and get a view of Dalt Vila (the walled old town) and the bustling square below. Luis very helpful and welcoming. Rooms are small but pretty with very comfortable bed. No breakfast offering here as run more like a hostel where you get given keys and come and go as you please but plenty of lovely cafes in the two squares Paseo Vara de Rey and Plaza Parque for coffee and croissant.

I lived in Ibiza for 5 years and always recommend this hostal to friends or acquaintances who are coming to visit the island. I've advised everyone from 18 year old cousins to 50 year old mothers-in-law to stay here as the location is unsurpassed at this price. I've even stayed here myself when I was moving between houses as it really does feel like a friendly home. In fact I would recommend visiting in the off-season, so before June or after September, as you can end up having the whole guesthouse to yourself! However, summer patrons of this hotel are generally of a very cool global class, and not the drug-addled rave zombies you might find in other establishments on Ibiza.
It's such a great location because Ibiza town feels like a proper locals environment and not at all like a resort as San Antonio and Playa Den Bossa do. Right outside the back door of the hostal is Plaza Del Parque which has some great options for breakfast, although personally I would take the 5 minute walk to the old market, Mercado Viejo, to get some fresh fruit and a coffee from the Croissant Show. During the day, Talamanca beach is a nice and easy walk around the port and marina, at night you can should the delights of Ibiza town's bars. Lo Cura is quite possibly the greatest bar on the whole island - hard to find in the little maze of streets behind the port, but once you do it's hard to leave... Luis the owner will direct you I'm sure!
If you only go to one club while you are in Ibiza make sure it is Space and probably on a Sunday!

It required a lot of effort to make a reservation at this hostal – the online booking button on their site didn’t work; my initial email was not replied to; when I reached them finally by phone, they advised they had no internet connection that day, but not to worry they would get my email/reservation request the next day. I called a second time the following day and spoke with a man who said he would see that someone respond to my reservation request. Finally, the email arrived, to which I had to then send my credit card details to secure the reservation. 80€ per night, for nine nights. Serious money for a room in a hostel for one person, with no bathroom.
At this point I received another email stating that should I arrive after 22h00, it was obligatory to accept the hostel’s airport transfer as no one would be at reception. I replied, declining the arrival transfer and advising my airport arrival time of 4:10 pm. I also sent a further two emails requesting other information, which were not replied to.
Two weeks later, when I arrived at the hostel at 5:10pm, the woman at the front desk said she knew nothing about reservations or arrivals and when she called the owner for help, he didn’t respond. Apparently he was out in his boat. I asked if I could leave my bags, and come back at 7:30pm. She said I was welcome to, but that I might not be able to get into the hotel at 7:30pm as she wouldn’t be there.
Extremely exasperated, I left and found alternative accommodation close by.
The following day when I returned to request a refund, the Argentinian owner, Luis, stated it was not a proper hotel, but a hostel, so I shouldn’t expect reception to function at 5pm. Declining to listen to me explain for him the facts of the situation, he accused me of coming to Spain and only speaking English, and refused to speak any more English with me. Fortunately I speak Spanish, so I was able to respond as he proceeded to get more hostile in his native tongue. He said he could charge me for the remaining 8 nights if he wanted to, and suggested I report him to the Office of Tourism and the Police. He refused to refund the deposit.

We stayed for a week in the suite with a great view of the D'alt Villa (old town). The suite has its own bathroom and shower, AC, TV, small safe, fridge, couch and plenty of space. Free WIFI is also available.
The location is great, in the middle of town, between the two main squares (Plaza del Parque and Vara de Rey). We took the bus, #10, from the airport, it only costs 3.35 Euros per person each way and you buy the ticket on the bus. The bus (http://www.ibizabus.com/Page18.html) passes by the Paseo Vara de Rey and we got off at the next stop by the port. It's just a few minutes to walk back to Paseo Vara de Rey 7 and the sign for the Hostal is quite easy to find. In case you miss getting off the bus at the port then it will continue to the main bus station and you will have a longer walk, maybe 10 minutes, to get to Casa de Huespedes Vara de Rey. The main bus station is also where all the buses to the other places on Ibiza leaves from.
The place is on the third floor, 55 steps, but the owner Louis was waiting for us when we arrived and helped us with the luggage. There is a winch at the top of the stairs which he used to get our bags lifted to the 3rd floor.
Louis was very friendly and helpful. Providing us with suggestions on where to eat and so on.
In the mornings we had breakfast either at Madagascar Cafe on Plaza del Parque, right below our suite or at Cafeteria Ebusus just across Paseo Vara de Rey. Both places were very nice and not too expensive.
Louis suggested a few not too expensive places for lunch or dinner. We tried Bon Profit across from Cafe Madagascar at Plaza del Parque and Comidas Bar San Juan at Montgri 8 (3 blocks from Plaza del Parque) and liked them both. They are very popular, there is usually a line outside when they open and the table might be shared, which means you might meet some interesting people. :-)
We made our reservation at http://hibiza.com/ and sent a few e-mails afterwards with questions which were quickly responded to.

I stayed here with my mum for a couple of nights and it was perfect for us! Lia was so helpful and gave us a beautiful room overlooking the square. We were worried about sharing a bathroom but it was totally fine, never saw anyone else coming or going from there. Amazing location, close to old town and the marina. Great value for money. Will definitely be coming back next time I'm in Ibiza! Thank you Lia :)

Hi Juhana,
excuse my ignorance in computer world, i may need to invite you to find out a little bit by yourself. Our guest house is surrounded by the two most popular squares in town; i have left apart for you one room facing one square and the router at the reception is facing the other square: in between your room and the router there is a main building wall and one room, don´t know if that is good enough for you...?
Apologies as it has never been asked before, so i might need few days to find it out better in case you didn´t manage to.
Let me know if it was of a help or if you needed more.
Kind regards,
Lía
Hola Jesús,
