We had a great time at Halfmoon Bay Charles was very helpful with local spots to visit, Smugglers Cove, Sechalt, Maderia Bay and Thormanby Island. The whole area was very picturesque. We sometimes had difficulty finding the beaches because of the many private properties along the waterfront but when we got there it was always spectacular. The Loghouse was very comfortable and Charles and Vanessa looked after our every need. The cakes were a highlight.

Charles and Vanessa (the hosts) take great pride in maintaining their property and ensuring guests are well informed and well fed. The epitome of British (Columbia) hospitality. Each suite has its own nuances. If you’re a light sleeper you may want to request the seaside suite as it is a bit quieter (water pump can be heard at night in the other room). If you’re going to use the pullout sofa, expect the typical pullout comfort level of mattress. You should also provide advance notice so they can have the pullout ready for your visit. Our family really appreciated the large fresh eggs and other ingredients restocked daily that provided for a hearty breakfast each morning. Best of all the wonderful Halfmoon Bay General Store is literally a one minute walk from your door for any additional supplies you may need. The rooms are modern and well equipped, and the Wifi worked great for us - and we use a lot of steaming services. The Wifi provider is Telus Optik and it was very fast. Perhaps the internet was recently upgraded. I was even able to log into my Netflix account through their Optik TV. Several family DVDs were also made available - although we didn’t try that out. I really appreciated the small touches like the lemon scented soaps, fresh fruit, fresh baked treats, and cold filtered Brita water and fresh slimed milk in the fridge. You couldn’t ask for a better location in terms of the pier, General Store, and Cafe at Halfmoon Bay. I’d still rate our stay as 5 stars overall, but don’t go expecting an oversized 60’’ TV or a pullout sofa that is beyond the typical comfort level of most pullouts. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this wonderful bed and breakfast.

Lots of room, very clean, has everything and is in a perfect location.Right down the road is a pier with a great view and going the other way, there is a small beach. Also a corner store and coffee shop that seems more like a home instead of a business. Very welcoming and fits in beautifully. The yard is beautifully landscaped, The owners are a wealth of information about the area and things to see and do. They also respect your privacy as guests. Fresh eggs, coffee, cream, baked goods, jams, honeys, etc every day. This place has everything for a really reasonable price. I would highly recommend.

Enjoyed our three night stay in the seaside suite. Charles and Vanessa are excellent hosts and the location is quiet but central to many day trips. Sofa could have been more comfortable, but certainly not a reason to stay away. Thanks for the hospitality. Isabelle and Claus

Well designed suites in a true log house. Kitchen, sitting -room, TV, DVD player ( with great selection of DVDs!) , wifi, very comfortable queen size bed and modern bathroom. Lovely location, very helpful hosts. Home baked goodies daily and fridge already partially stocked with basics when you arrive.
