Stayed in the Studio ISO for 2 nights in early September. The place was immaculate and everything looked so new and fresh. The property has lots of windows but it situated so that everything is very private. The kitchen had all we needed and it was so nice to go somewhere where the dishes, plates, pots and pans didn't seem like cast offs but new and stylish. Instructions were straightforward and never even needed to meet or call the owners though they did provide us with multiple ways to get ahold of them if we needed. The Studio isn't exactly on the water but has peekaboo views through the trees in front. Didn't really use the upper floor (accessible by a ladder) but I guess that would be useful if you wanted to watch TV our use the desk setup.

Thanks for taking the time to give us a review. The view from the loft is quite lovely and affords you more of an ocean view as well. It would have been great to meet you but as you seemed comfortable in the space we didn't want to invade your privacy.

We found the Pointhouse Studio ISO a great example of what is often called a “Tiny House” with a minimal square footage. It has been expertly designed using the 2 containers on both sides with a common area in the middle.

The contemporary finishes and minimalistic layout worked very well for our 4 day stay. The kitchen, dining and living area provided us with easy comfortable living.

The bed was very easy to pull down and push up and we appreciated the space when put away. The mattress, duvet and sheets were very comfortable and of a very high quality. Always good when you sleep well each night.

We found the house a very uplifting, pleasant, warm, relaxing space to be in. Without a doubt it added a joy to our holiday and we looked forward to being in it.

The private, wooded location was exceptionally landscaped and could only be improved with better views over Sargeant’s Bay. We felt we had sufficient privacy from the nearby house to feel like you were in a woodland hide a way cabin to yourself. The Hot Tub was a nice treat to come back to after hiking and exploring all day.

The only small negative was that to watch TV you had to climb up a vertical ladder to reach the mezzanine. I feel the safety aspect of this could be an issue for some but obviously fun for others. I have to say that this small, low ceiling space felt surprisingly good to be in and a worthy addition.

Our dog thoroughly enjoyed sharing the space with us. We did have one extremely wet day and could have done with some sort of drying area for our wet clothes.

We were met by Bob on arrival who gave us information of the other truly wonderful accommodation on his site and good ideas of where to go as per our interests. His suggestion of Triangle Lake turned out to be a wonderful hike loop and we often visited the nearby exquisite Sargeant’s Bay.

We certainly highly recommend this beautiful holiday home to anyone looking to explore this area of the Sunshine Coast.

Thanks for the glowing 5 bubble review. Designing a tiny house was a fun challenge and using shipping containers made it even more so. Glad you appreciated the intangible qualities of the space and it's setting in nature. We are grateful to live next door to Sargeant Bay Provincial Park. It's still somewhat of a hidden gem though a popular local treasure. Cheers, Heather

If you want a 5* experience stay here. We rented the Arrie house and had breakfast at the main house each day. Both places are breathtakingly beautiful. It doesn't matter the time of year you go there is wild nature to be in awe of. The house we stayed in was luxurious. It is just as the pictures portray but even better in person. Sitting in the hot tub after a day of hiking is the best. My favorite was the shower with a floor to ceiling window where you felt as if you were outside showering. Bob and Heather were great hosts, giving us perfect recommendations for food and hiking. We even got a text about staying away from the beach where a mama and baby bear were feeding. Now that we have discovered the Sunshine Coast we are sold! We've traveled there during the shoulder seasons when it's quiet. We've hit perfect weather so if you don't like crowds it's a perfect time to go. The Pointhouse Suites on Sergeant Bay is incredible...

The Pointhouse Suites is less than 2.5 hours from Vancouver and yet it might as well be a world away — the unobstructed view of Sargeant Bay and the tranquility hugging you. The gourmet breakfast served in the living room with a view is something you will look forward to.
Heather and Bob are gracious hosts who take pride in their meticulously curated property. We will be back next time we visit the Sunshine Coast.

I stayed in the Islets Suite with a sweeping view of stunning coastal landscape, this retreat offers breathtaking ocean views, rocky cliffs, and playful seals just outside. Hosts Bob and Heather extend warm hospitality, making you feel right at home and a delicious breakfast. Falling asleep to the sound of ocean waves is just one of the many highlights of a stay here. PointHouse Suites is a perfect base for exploring the wonders of the Sunshine Coast or just relax in this beautiful place. The Sunshine Coast is an easy drive from Vancouver but such a wonderful place to visit. Don’t hesitate to stay here and stay awhile it’s worth it!

We stayed in the Aerie - a very spacious unit with 1 bedroom, another windowed nook with a big bed, a windowed office space (with couch) and spacious, kitchen, dining, and living room area! Private hot tub, forest views from every window, and ocean views as well. The master ensuite shower is floor to ceiling glass staring at a picturesque forest! There is a second full bathroom. The quality of the finishings, furniture, appliances, and decor have been selected with obvious care and impeccable taste. I would call it west coast modern. The hosts make sure you have everything you need including a fully stocked kitchen, rainwear for two, ample towels, dishwasher, washer/dryer. They have kayaks on site to borrow. Sargeant Bay is breathtaking - make a point of kayaking early in the day when the water is the most calm and peaceful. I would stay here again with my family of 5, as a couple, for a girls retreat or even solo!

I just returned from a 3 night stay at the Annex with two of my girlfriends. This is the full house that is not located on the Pointhouse property, but rather 5 minutes down the road. This was the perfect location and house for us! We loved every aspect! The house is on a large property that overlooks the Ocean and Nanaimo in the distance. Very private and quiet neighbourhood. We brought our own food and wine, and tucked ourselves in! The wood burning fireplace with ample wood provided much warmth and coziness. The master bedroom suite had its own gas fireplace and the most luxurious bed! There is a very large two person shower in the ensuite, complete with rain shower and a soaker tub. No need to use the tub, as we spent much of our time in the 4 person hot tub just outside of the master suite on the deck. At night, we could see the sunset and the lights of Nanaimo as we soaked. The loft was perfect for our morning yoga. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the equipment one would need. We found extra treasures in the front hall closets like folding beach chairs, picnic basket, water jug, towels, ect. The place was very well maintained and clean! We enjoyed a few local hikes including Mount Daniel and the Skookumchuck rapids. We did venture down the trail to Cardiac beach one morning for a perfect swim in the ocean inlet. Although we did not end up using the kayaks, they were easily accessible at the water. The owners even brought over a third kayak to use if needed. The response time from Heather and Bob was amazing. Heather went to great detail, giving us suggestions for places to eat and explore. We had a fabulous and relaxing experience at the Annex, and are already planning a trip back!

We stayed five nights. We vacation in Sunshine Coast every summer, mostly at Sechelt/ Halfmoon bay/ Madeira park area. We did have a good time but a lot of aspects of Annex can be improved, considering the rate was very steep.

Pro: Good and fast communications. Safe and easy contactless check in. Lots of board games to keep us entertained for a family vacation, which became very important as the weather was too hot to be outdoor for long period of time. The hot tub was nice although we only used it once. It would have been superb for colder months. Two single kayaks available at Cardiac Beach with personal flotation device. We used them once and enjoyed the paddle around the beach. Just be aware that the trail (across the house) down the beach is not paved and is very steep. We enjoyed the short but slightly strenuous workout. Probably not suitable for younger kids. The trump card of this place was the powerful air conditioning especially in such hot summer!

Cons: The lounge is bright with full length windows and the photo capture the spaciousness very well which was one of the main reasons we booked it but the other parts of the house are quite dated. The king mattress in the main bedroom is so old and uncomfortable. For this rate I think it can do with a new mattress. All the TVs are old and small which we didn’t used much as we aren’t used to such small screen. Most people don’t bring papers for vacation, I think a few sheets of blank papers provided in the drawer of the desk or the cupboard where the board game was stored would be nice. We couldn’t find any papers for the board games.

The main negative for us is that there is a separate suite in the building. Different entrance but part of the same building. This should be clearly communicated to the guests as we were expecting some privacy for a family vacation. We were quite concerned when we first saw cars parking in the same compound but didn’t realize there were owners / caretakers living in the same building. When my daughter discovered the separate suite we were a little bit shocked as we didn’t expect it. We likely would not have rented Annex if we have known we would be sharing the building although not the living space. It is perfectly ok to have a separate suite but I just feel that this should be disclosed and communicated to the guests. Lastly, we would rate the cleanliness 4/10. The floor was sticky and the fridge was really dirty with empty zip bags, half used sauce etc.

Thank you for taking the time to write a balanced review of the Annex. We appreciate the suggestions and apologize for the aspects of the experience that fell short in your expectations. We have shared your review with other members of the team as well. Our TV's for the record measure 50", 43" and 31" to suite a range of viewing opportunities. Glad the games kept you entertained the old fashioned way in anywise and the AC was invaluable. Our separate yet attached owner's carriage house suite is used only on an occasional basis. We usually let guests know when we are there so they will not be surprised. It can also be rented as additional guest accommodation for families that may want more room or separate but connected living spaces to accommodate multiple generations. Cheers, Heather & Bob

The English language does not contain the words to adequately describe the splendour and wonder that is the Pointhouse Suites on Sergeant Bay. My wife and I were looking for a beautiful place to "get away from it all" for our 40th anniversary. We came upon the Pointhouse online and had a hard time believing a place existed that could actually look like the photos on the website, but the Penthouse even exceeds its photos. The destination at the end of a meandering, forested access road and perched atop rocks overlooking a lovely bay is magical and enchanting in every way. The cottages and main house are mesmerising in their architecture, design and craftsmanship. The grounds are lush, natural and with views of water and rocks everywhere you stand. The structures merge into and become part of the natural setting. Innkeepers Bob and Heather have thoughtfully created every detail from the connecting forest trails to the the glass views, to the European doors that slide wide open to your deck overlooking the sea, which, by the way, you can view from your luxurious bed. The finishes and furnishings are high-end, modern and stylish. The rain shower and tub are spa-like and invigorating. Heather and Bob will welcome and care for you as special, valued guests, and Heather's hand-crafted breakfasts are unique and delicious works of art. Needless to say this was a wondrous destination in a wondrous part of the world.

We stayed at the Annexe - a beautiful, spacious house, tastefully decorated and furnished with loads of room for families, for cooking and general ‘hanging out’. Huge deck with a great view and room for pups to play in the yard.
Our stay was for our daughter’s wedding held along the coast, and she and her bridesmaids had plenty of room to get ready on the big day!
Would definitely heartily recommend.

Hi Emily, There are lots of restaurants in Sechelt or slightly farther afield in Gibsons, Roberts Creek, Madeira Park or Egmont. We have many favourites within a fifteen minute driving radius. Check out the eat and drink page on our website for local tips or Sunshine Coast Tourism for lots more info on the area.
