For such a beautiful place, they could have kept it up to high standards to accommodate the steep prices. We paid top dollars for a room that was not clean and grounds were not maintained. Very disappointed unfortunately. I went here years ago and loved it, now I would not recommend unless they took better care of the property and charge less!

All of the staff including; the front desk, the serving staff in the restaurant and Louie (the dock and marine attendant) were professional, friendly, accommodating and made our stay really enjoyable. We booked the ocean view suite. I would not suggest that room, it is very outdated and is in desperate need of a facelift, defiantly not worth the money. I would suggest booking one of the rooms that is renovated. The restaurant is a bit pricey, but the food was good. The pool was nice, great view from the pool deck.

The Good: Great location, steps away from the ocean. Great to be able to hear the sound of the waves from our patio. The staff were friendly and professional and easy to deal with. Had dinner at the resort restaurant and everything went smoothly. Again, friendly staff, food was fine though pricey but not surprising as it was part of the resort. The Bad: The state of the resort was disappointing. Specifically the cabin we were in. Part of the deck railing was broken as well as the flooring which could be a tripping hazard. The pullout sleeper had multiple black specs on it - don't think they were bugs but didn't want to risk it and ended up not using it. Furnishings are sparse and outdated. There was an old water bottle left behind the cabinet in the living room. Just doesn't seem like they put much effort into the upkeep and maintenance of the resort. It's too bad because it's in such a good location.

Briefly, the location is outstanding, the hotel needs more work and staff. Friendly staff and great pool. The food was okay, so expensive for the quality, the poor staff were over worked, it should never take over 2 hours for plates to be picked up from the pool.

Stayed three nights- two in the hotel and one in the premium tents. So the hotel was incredibly disappointing. Seems like an attempt was made to upgrade, but missed the mark. Very dated room with slight ocean view- but the patio isn't glass so obstructs most. No rug on laminate flooring made the room seem cold. The bed was a disaster! The frame was so loose that if you rolled over the headboard banged off the wall. Had to stuff the decorative pillows behind it. Also, the mattress was as hard as a rock. Mediocre water pressure and dated linens sealed the deal of this room. The tents, however, were awesome. Total redemption for the sad hotel room. The view was undeniable and the charm/romance was well done. Super comfy bed and enjoyed the amenities-such as a giant soaker tub and fireplace. Overall, the grounds seemed reasonably kept- some trimming could have been done around the pool area. By the way, the pool was FREEZING- it is not heated one bit. We never ate at the restuarant. So if you want a romantic time stay in the tents and avoid the rest! Not worth the money. Hotel is in serious need of an upgrade to continue to charge what they do.
