We tried to stay here. Booked and paid online in advance. When we showed up and showed them our booking code, no one understood what it meant, no one was expecting us, no one spoke English. It took an hour to tell them we already paid. Then we were out in the middle of nowhere and turned out they didn't have food. We hadn't eaten all day and were no where near any other restaurant. We ended up counting our loses and walked back into town to stay elsewhere. It was a nice facility, clean rooms and very beautiful area but it wasn't quiet and peaceful as they had 5 or 6 angry dogs that barked at us every time they saw us and they were blaring loud music on a 4 foot tall speaker. There's also no wifi there.

The Chom Kwang resort is situated in a rural area on the outskirts of Mukdahan. When we finally found it, we were greeted by Mr. Thong (Tonga), who seems to be primarily responsible for running everything.
We booked two VIP rooms and two standard rooms. However, the VIP rooms do not exist so we settled for four standard rooms. The rooms, which were actually bungalows, were clean and tidy and set in a nice aspect. In fact, we were the only guests so we had the resort to ourselves.
We were keen to have a meal at the restaurant, but sadly, the chef had gone home early, so we ended up spending the evening having a few drinks with Mr. Thong. He revealed that the resort was still being developed and eventually the VIP rooms would be built.
Upon reflection, our stay was pleasant and Mr. Thong was a very gracious host. But I feel that the finished product will have a lot more to offer.
