We stayed at Casa de Celeste Vida in Celestun for 5 nights (Dec. 6th to 11th/2022) in the Maravilla Suite. We are so happy we booked here, as our stay was truly beachside bliss and relaxation, which we needed. The suite was very spacious, with its own kitchenette, sitting room, bedroom and bathroom with shower. No air con, but lots of fans in all rooms, plus large windows to let in ocean breezes in the morning and evenings, keeping the temperature very comfortable. The grounds are indeed pretty breathtaking, with the Gulf waters literally 30 seconds out the door (a fence and gate surround the entire property for privacy/security). There are loungers spread out on the grounds among the palm trees and other vegetation, a cold water outdoor shower and a very nice touch of a towel hanger station on the beach for when you go in for a swim. I had a great time watching all the various birds come to the hummer feeders and move around in the nearby bushes in the empty lot next door (yucatan wren, cinnamon hummer, hooded orioles, etc). Brown pelicans and an osprey were often hunting for fish right out front in the water. We swam almost every day and had the fun surprise of sardines jumping out of the water in front of us, as well as seeing a pod of dolphins out in the distance, breaching and jumping in the air! The sunsets were absolutely beautiful to watch and the beach has so many seashells to collect and admire. Ken, Wanda and Karen were lovely hosts, being on hand if needed, bit generally in the background, not intruding on our quiet time and letting us enjoy the peacefulness and slower pace of this small fishing town. They have a little booklet in the suite, with a map of the town, restaurants, bakery, grocery stores, markets, etc.) as a handy guide to orient yourself. We walked everywhere - usually along the beach to go into town and then back at night along the road. We never felt unsafe anywhere we went and never had any issues. A nice treat was some fresh cut coconuts to drink from, left in the communal kitchen - my boyfriend enjoyed 3 during our stay. We loved the 6 beach dogs they have rescued and were greeted with wags and wanting some rubs every day (we missed our dog back home). There is a hammock outside the door for personal use and we both drifted off for a nap at various times, just listening to the breeze ripple through the trees and the sound of the water. Heaven!!! As far as dining, our favourite place was El Lobo just opposite the main square in town. They make a really decent pizza for supper (as a vegetarian it was one of the few options, as most restaurants serve fish obviously, or other meats) and a great breakfast hotcake! Sit upstairs on the covered patio to enjoy a breeze at night and watch the goings-on in the plaza - usually street food snack vendors, music, fireworks, kids riding remote cars, etc. La Palapa was also a very good dining experience on the beach - great vibe, service was friendly and fast and the meal was delicious (really great guacamole). You cannot beat dining on the Gulf, watching the sunset as you enjoy food and drinks! Another spot for a good, filling breakfast is the Restaurant Dolphin, located behind Hotel Gutierez on the beach. Lots of choice, hearty food, tasted great - this place fills up quickly (with the hotel guests), so be there by opening to not have to wait too long for a seat. We would definitely stay here again in a heartbeat. The value for money really cannot be beat! Also, Ken helped us to book a private biosphere mangrove canoe tour and a private boat tour to see flamingos - both were very good and interesting and we are happy we did both. Truly a beautiful and relaxing place to unwind and be in that vacation state of mind. Thank-you Ken, Wanda and Karen for such a memorable time!

We just stayed 3 nights in this privat, pet friendly Guesthouse with 2 studios and 1 appartment. It couldn't be better for us. From the first contact with Wanda to a warm welcome with her and Ken, we spend a great time directly at the wonderful beach. A spacey studio with kitchenette, was perfect to serve ourself a breakfast in the morning and even there is a fully equiped kitchen with all cooking utilities. Our dog Tayna was amazed from the big property and the freedom at the beach. We nearly had the beach all the time for ourself. The rooms a very clean and cozy and there is a lot of love put in every detail. But for us the most important, that there is no noise at all, but the wind moving the palm trees and listening to the ocean. A lot of tranquility - exactly what we were looking for. The location is perfect, because it is not directly in the center of the village, but still in walking distance to the great fish restaurants and the village square with shopping opportunities. Wanda and Ken - thanks a lot for hosting us at your great place. We definately will be back soon. Best regards from Stefan, Bea and Tayna from Playa del Carmen.

Our family of four (kids aged 10 and 13) stayed at Casa de Celeste Vida in Celestun in June. I simply cannot say enough good things about this place. It is simply gorgeous, right on the pristine beach. When we were there the water was calm and still and we spent hours snorkeling. It's not amazing snorkeling, but we still enjoyed it and saw many fish, rays, and even an octopus! The room was spacious and spotlessly clean, and had just what we needed to self cater a few meals. The hostess, Karen, is just wonderful and went the extra mile in so many ways to help us out. We had a lot of fun hanging out with her and her dogs on the beach. My kids were in heaven, my youngest daughter spent a long time pushing the dogs around on the paddle board! The shells on the beach are unreal. Easily the best shelling we've ever seen. Town is a short walk down the beach, and an quick drive if you prefer. Some small groceries, a fruteria, a pizzaria, some bakeries, and a bunch of seafood restaurants on the beach. It is very laid back, just a great atmosphere. The flamingo boat trip was so nice, easy to just hop on a boat with a guide at the pier, no reason for reservations (in June, at least). This stop was a highlight on our 2 week trip in the Yucatan peninsula, and at the end of our 3 night stay at Casa de Celeste Vida we all wished we were staying longer, and definitely hope to return some day!

We loved this place. Clean and cheerful with bright colors and local art. The folks who run it are super helpful and thoughtful. They let us keep our bags there for the day after we checked out, and gave us free use of the bikes. The location couldn't be more perfect, as it's right on the beach. It was the low-key escape we needed after a fast-paced week in Merida.

This is a private villa that is used as a guest house. It is absolutely beautiful located on a gorgeous beach with no people around other than you. The atmosphere is unbelievable: gorgeous peaceful tranquility away from all the worries and troubles in the world. Wanda’s name (she is the property manager and part owner) probably comes from the word WONDERFUL. She makes you feel like you are not in a hotel but visiting your aunt who lives on a gorgeous beach in a beautiful villa. Go there. You won’t regret it. It’s AWESOME!

We have been coming to this gorgeous place on the beach since our discovery in 2018. Always a fantastic time, and so well managed. The people who run the guest house are always so accommodating, friendly and so hard working! We really appreciate their hospitality and their excellent rooms, fully equipped with kitchenettes. They built this beautiful place with such heart! Its the corozon of the Gulf Coast. Our favourite beach resort en el mundo ( in the world), by far!! Gracias, we are so thankful!

beautifully designed and well managed boutique hotel in very quiet location at the end of town. casa de celeste vida offers one suite and two regular rooms, all facing the ocean. all amenities and furnishings are thoughtfully selected. big communal kitchen for those who want to cook on site. ideal place for disconnecting and relaxing to the endless sound of the waves. total tranquility. wifi in this area not very steady (this is regional issue, not a technical problem of the facility.) bicycles provided for going into town where there are several restaurants along the beach. very recommendable.
