A cosy and spotlessly clean guesthouse on the outskirts of Habarana. We only stayed one night as a stopover on the way back from the East Coast, but this would be a good base to explore the various attractions in the area. It's informal, but the staff are efficient and friendly. Excellent value for money.

This hotel was pleasant enough with all the standards comforts. They helped me book a safari and transport though I definitely felt I was being pushed into more expensive options - no information was given about local buses and I was told a tuk tuk would be dangerous as some tourists were recently killed in an elephant attack. When I...

We really liked this place. Excellent value for not big money you pay. Room was very clean and all working perfectly, including high quality (Panasonic) and quiet aircon. We always got all the care without saying and fast and efficient service, which is unusual in Sri Lanka and last but not least, the food was excellent. We had one of...

We stayed here for three nights and had a very pleasant stay. The owner is very friendly and welcoming and the rooms are clean and basic. The owner arranged a driver for the Minneriya National Park, Sigiriyi, Dambulla Cave, Ritigala and Polonnaruwa at a reasonable cost. The food was very good and we were able to try a variety of...

This is a quaint homestay that provides excellent service. The rooms were tidy & clean with a nice terrace with comfortable chairs to relax in the afternoon. We arrived in the early afternoon & were able to arrang a jeep safari with another guest in the afternoon. They also have a driver with an air conditioned car for day trips...

This was an unexpectedly awesome experience, the hotel itself was located within a fruit garden or orchard - thumbs up for the ambience and feel of the place, very neat and tidy rooms with some of the best and friendliest hotel staff in our entire journey through Sri Lanka. A special mention about the home cooked Sri Lankan food must...

Jiya is the perfect host; talks fluently English and French, gives you tips and advice to do this and see that. Jiya takes time for all his guests. Rooms were big, tidy, silent and everything functioned as it should. Porch where...

Le Grand Meaulnes was by far our favourite hotel on our 2 week trip. The hotel was a bit hard to find at first. It's about a 1km walk from the Habarana intersection. We had to call the hotel to find it. But when we got there, we were more than satisfied. The room was huge and we were greeted...

Very nice stay at this lodge. We enjoyed the large rooms. We stayed two nights and had diner both nights (Diner: 1100 Roupies per person not included but worth having). They can organize Safari at Hurulu Eco park which is a great park, less expensive than south national parks (Udawalawe and Yala) and contains many elephants. Kind hosts with many...

This hotel is run by a guy who lived for 3 years in France and therefore speaks both French and English. His cook is amazing and you should try the evening meals, which, although More expensive than local restaurants, are excellent and, of course convenient. Dinner was about SRps4,500 for two of us include a drink or two. Room was...
