We found Ostan Loch Altan to be an excellent choice in this part of the world. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff helpful and attentive and the setting close to heaven. The bar meals were substantial and the Guinness as good as you get.

Was booked through a Groupon offer which caused some issues. I had printed out the Groupon and hotel confirmations from my phone which caused issues with the owner. He had no idea what it was and became rather irate and told us we were going to have to pay again. The receptionist was lovely and took the confirmation and told...

I have never been in the position where I felt that a review did not deserve a response but such is the case in this instance. I have redeemed over a thousand Groupon vouchers in the past two years but this is the first time that guests have arrived at the reception and insisted that Groupon did not send them...

Ostan Loch Altan is very cosy and friendly and in the heart of the Gaeltacht area in Donegal. We stayed there for two nights and had a wonderful time. We ate in the bar on the Friday night and the meal was very nice and great value too any 2 courses for €14.95. What we loved about the bar area...

Room sufficient for our needs, breakfast and evening meals good. No lifts in the property so would not meet the needs of anyone with mobility difficulties. Communication with hotel bad, despite sending a query when booking via website and 3 separate emails, no reply received. Rang the hotel direct and got answers to my queries. However was told that there...

I am very pleased that you enjoyed your stay in Ostán Loch Altan, particularly the breakfast and the extensive bar food menu. At this point, we do not have an elevator in the hotel but ,hopefully, this will soon be rectified. This is the oldest hotel in Donegal with a very long and excellent reputation but the design makes it...

The rooms are still full of 70's furniture! The old fashioned TV had only 2 channels. It's like something out of Heartbeat!!! The bar carpet is filthy. If you are looking for a good hotel pass this one by. much nicer out there. Definitely won't be back.

Thankfully, you are one of the very few that had nothing positive to say about your visit to Ostán Lovh Altan but our motto is that the customer is always right. So I accept that your visit was not a pleasant one. The hotel was completely refurbished in 1998 and many of the bedrooms have been upgraded in the past...

Hotel Loch Altan is a cosy venue with a local, familial and casual vibe. The decor is somewhat tired but perhaps of its ilk. The carpets seem to have a lingering must scent and the paintwork is chipped with poor attention to cleanliness in the bathroom downstairs. Parents shower room was much newer and better, however was an absolute slip...

We recently stayed in Ostan Loch Altan with my elderly mother. We were late back to the hotel and the kitchen was closed. The barman was extremely helpful ,getting us tea and sandwiches . The staff were so friendly and helpful, food was excellent. Nice to see Irish hospitality is still alive. Highly recommend hotel.
