In the heart of western Sicily, about 8km from the Parco Archeologico di Selinunte, the largest archaeological park in Europe, is the Althea Palace Hotel, a new accommodation structure situated in the commercial centre of Castelvetrano (TP), just 2km from the old town centre. The Althea Hotel can sleep about 120 guests and is divided into various types of room. Every room has a minibar, a telephone with a direct external line, safe, hairdryer, and other exclusive comforts including centralised climate control, Wi-Fi, and a TV with SKY reception included. The style of our rooms is a balance between contemporary design and comfort, they all possess a warm welcoming intimate atmosphere: the perfect place for a relaxing trip to this Mediterranean island, but also for people who come to Sicily for work or on their honeymoon. The Althea Hotel's kitchens are ideal for creating both tourist menus with typical Sicilian specialities and for the preparation of delicious dishes to serve at elegant banquets, ceremonies, and working lunches.

The staff at this hotel are super, attentive and very cordial. Breakfast sparse on breakfast food but very good on cakes etc. Dinner was ok except when they served chicken which had a lot of blood and was clearly not cooked properly which put us off dinner (7 persons). Towels in our room were threadbare and one had a hole at one end and frayed. (Room 310) unbelievable in a supposedly 4 star superior hotel. Where it not for the excellent staff wouldn't have stayed more than one day out of five. Certainly not 4*. Otherwise its off the main highway in in industrial park. Private beach was 10kms away. With better management supervision might improve. We stayed between 13-17 April 2022.

Hi there. Was on an Italian vacation and stayed here for a night.
The Airco and security safe worked, but the shower was small and was stopped up like it was in need of serious cleaning.
The breakfast was also good.

Castelvetrano is not a place you would like to visit I should say... traffic is disaster... the city logistic plan is a maze and with a car is like a horror movie. There is only a single good thing about it: Selinunte archeological site that is the largest in Europe if I am not wrong. We had a long day driving around and exploring the island from Agrigento to Mazzara de Vallo and after 40minutes searching of the Altea we finally found it. Our driving instructions misled us that it was in the center of Castevetrano but indeed it is situated just next to the exit from the highway. We arrived late and we were exhausted. We thought that there was nothing good about that place and we felt almost sorry we had 2 nights booked there. But then we entered ROOM 116 - a real palace. That is the room that can make you want to stay inside. It was about 30 to 40 square meters spacious and the veranda in front was of the same size including sun beds, water sprinkler to cool down, a table with chairs and not so nice view to the highway. And what's inside - hydro massage shower cabin, a mini swimming pool /here meaning large bath for two/, toilet and bide, large wardrobe and a huge TV screen. The hotel is brand new even some of the rooms are not completed yet. There is a modern lobby and friendly staff even if they spoke no English at all. The good about Altea is the easy exit to the highway and the comfort of coming back after a really long day out. There we had two incredible nights of pure relaxation. Most of the time we have spent out on the west coast exploring different places and cities. For people on the go it is the perfect hotel to give you privacy and comfort at night. For families and vacation stays this is absolutely not the place to be, but the business travelers and short stay visitors will be mostly satisfied.

This was probably the best hotel room we had on our trip. The room was very sleek and modern and ... clean. The staff was very friendly and the food was good too. Only drawback was the location ... not much to do in the near vicinity BUT it was close by Selinunte's archeological site, which is a must see when visiting Sicily.

Went to look for possible family members.
The staff at Althea Palace Hotel were wonderful! Enzo thought it would be difficult to find a place where we wanted to go - so he drives us there(!?!) he knows of someone who may be a relation - he asks them to come to the hotel. Giuseppe interprets and the rest of the staff were wonderful!
Not a touristy place, but if you want to go to Castelvetrano, nice rooms and fantastic staff!

Stopped off at this hotel as an emergency measure after we missed a booking at another hotel. This hotel is nice and clean and is situated next to a main road which made it easy to travel around. The staff were very friendly and did their best to get us whatever we needed. All in all, a pleasant stay

This is a great hotel but the location is really poor. It stands oddly on an industrial estate with very little views or surroundings. A good supermarket up the road and a great eatery but no real bar or food at the hotel. we had a choice of two fish and one meat dishes which as a vegetarian was a no go. We had a great room with a balcony area and free wifi.

Unfortunately I can't give zero stars, but I would. I don't understand how they could give 4 stars to this place, presenting itself as a poor 3 stars. The cleaning is ridiculous, almost non-existent, despite the fact that the ladies actually employed to carry it out never failed to make themselves heard from early in the morning, shouting among themselves. The first day, we didn't even have towels in the room. The cuisine is far too homemade, almost like "grandma's house" with hectoliters of oil and generally of a low standard... not to mention the breakfast, with food at least two days old, all accompanied by a service conducted by rude people. Furthermore, after telling us that the drinks were included in our package, they still decided to make us pay for them. Experience to forget.

It is in a very convenient area for visiting western Sicily.
The room was spacious and the decor throughout the hotel is modern.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Truly excellent cuisine with both meat and fish dishes. To try!

Salve, la spiaggia è raggiungibile in auto propria, consigliata anche per visitare le vicine località turistiche, altrimenti con mezzo pubblico. La struttura non dispone di navetta privata.
