I started my working life here as Manager's assistant in 1963 (54 years ago, I'm sure it's the same carpet in the bar!) I love this hotel and wish everyone the very best of luck with the promised refurbishment. It will be a lot of work but worth it. Had a few drinks in the bar last weekend with my...

I'm surprised that such a place still have 3 stars, because the room was very shabby, very cold, both times and no warm water to take a shower. Toilet wasn't cleaned and by my second visit I found the same towels as on my first visit. I ordered a breakfast at 8 o'clock cause I had my taxi for 08.15...

Dreadful service followed by a dreadful lunch. The vegetable choice was watery cabbage and carrots. The roast spuds were anaemic. The cutlery & table mats were thrown on the table for us to set ourselves as they were too busy. Avoid at all costs.

I booked out of nostalgia having been here with my family about 50 years ago - sadly it doesn't seem to have moved on from those days. My booking confirmation promised a double bed and free wi-fi. My room had neither. Single bed not a big problem except that it was incredibly uncomfortable - mattress no doubt very old and...

Comfortable bed , good sized room, but very shabby, tired place; everything seems to date from late 70s . WC with carpeted floor ! was outside the room and tiny shower cubicle in a recess in the room. Why won't someone invest in this place? Breakfast was either the ubiquitous 'Full English", or "continental" - photo attached of a continental...

The George is part of Crewkerne's heritage and it was great to sit outside in the courtyard watching the world go by. It's just in the process of changing hands and we'd like to thank the current owner for his find at the helm and wish the new owners every success for the future.

Staff seemed friendly however that's about as good as it got. I reserved a double room for single occupancy. I got a single room, the en suite was described as updated, I can only conclude that this was done some time around 1990 judging by the decor and mouldy corners. Now for £50 quid a night I could live with...

Me and the girlfriend came for a bank holiday weekend, lovely village and a lot of character to the building! We had a room with a 4 poster bed with en suite and it's was lovely when you walk in. The bathroom looks like something from a care home and the TV is about 17 inches and struggled to get...

This is an old pub and has character and we were warmly welcomed. I cannot fault the staff. It is right in the main street so great if you want to look around the town. However, there is no parking but there are a couple of large supermarkets behind where cars can be left. The rooms are adequate and clean...

We had a lovely night at The George - the room was comfortable, quiet and spacious, the staff friendly, and the chef very accommodating. It's a quaint, old kind of place, with a lot of history, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Great position for shopping, too!
