This is it - this is your ranch, only four hours from Vancouver, Canada! Whether you're looking for a horseback riding holiday with a bit of adventure, a family vacation at a dude ranch where even the kids will have fun, or just some place new where you can really get away from it all, you've found it. Sundance Guest Ranch is located in the warmest, sunniest spot in Canada with sweeping, panoramic views of the wide open Thompson River Valley that are so beautiful, they're ridiculous... but that's not it. Sundance Guest Ranch is just an easy four hour drive from Vancouver, Canada, making us a perfect weekend getaway destination... but that's not it. Sundance Guest Ranch serves absolutely amazing food that goes well beyond what you might expect from a "dude ranch"... but that's not it either. Sundance Guest Ranch runs a herd of over 100 happy, well-cared-for horses with thousands of acres of spectacular and varied terrain to explore, and the horseback riding is truly wonderful, whether you're looking for relaxing, instructive or exciting... but even that's not it. When you've just gotten back from a ride, and you're sitting on the lounge deck with your favourite drink in your hand, watching the herd gallop out to the field for the night and laughing with someone you've known ten minutes like you've known them ten years... lean back, put a foot up on the railing and look around... you're close, close to knowing why we say: "The first time, it's a vacation - after that, it's coming home."

Everything was perfect. The horses are well cared for and everyone on staff was extremely attentive and nice. A special thank you to the chef, who went to the trouble to accommodate my special diet with really good food. This is a very well run operation.

Back for a five night stay. We were in Rodeo room overlooking the arena. It was fun watching the horses 'stealing' mouthfuls of lawn grass when the wranglers were dealing with other horses in this 100+ herd. Very quiet and comfortable, the king bed was amazing. The ranch has implemented a weigh in process to prevent the horses from being injured by weight, but did it tastefully so that weights are kept private. The riding was amazing - we went on a wide variety of trails, some winding through the woods (Tims Trail) while others were more open through old pastures (Kirk Ride). Lots of camaraderie amongst the wranglers and riders, laughter and joy. Really like that they look after their horses extremely well. They have a lot of newer horses, some that the wranglers are training, and others that lucky riders get to experience. Talking of the wranglers - the women are so skilled in handling their horses - it is a treat just to see that! As advanced riders we got to canter three times each ride - fantastic! I have celiac disease so am very concerned about dietary restrictions. This place is able to not only deal with mine, but lots of other conditions. The food was tasty and plentiful - loved that there were great salads!

As soon as you arrive at the ranch it's almost like you can take a full breath. The desert environment is so chill and it's wonderful that you can't hear any traffic or air noise. There are also no TV's and you don't realize how much you need to unplug until you're there. As always, our visit was great. Food and accommodation are excellent, never slept on a more comfortable bed, and lots of things to do if you want to. We just like to relax on the Adirondak chairs, read and take in the views when not riding, or go in the pool if it's warm enough. But it's all about the horses. They are so well looked after and calm and they pair you with a suitable horse to ride at whatever level you are capable of. I liked the idea this year of brushing the horses for people unable or not wanting to ride. Besides the horses the people here are so welcoming, accommodating and make the whole experience easy to navigate. Staff arrive from all over the world to work and we've always found everyone to be positive, responsive and trying their best. Can't say enough good things about this place, and we're going back again in 2024. Christine Pearce

First off, the staff are so kind, from front desk to kitchen, servers and beyond. I've never felt more comfy to go grab blankets, food, tea, or relax pretty much anywhere on the property. It took me a day to actually soak all that hospitality and easy breezy lifestyle in! The wranglers are AMAZING, shout out to Tommy and his super fun rider, we loved them so much and our rides were so chill and memorable having them take us around! Lots of laughs and beautiful trails and views! The food was great! I loved how home cooked and clean it was, it was such a good system of buffet style serving , then free for all seconds, so fair and just right for our family! Great variety too! The rooms are very rustic, lol , but we dpent most of our time outside, swimming, visiting, and riding so our room was good enough for snoozing in between enjoying the gorgeous property! Thanks Sundance for making my daughter's 16th birthday dreams come true 👍 💖 See ya next year!!!

The ranch is beautiful and the rooms are clean and welcoming. We had a double queen room and the beds and pillows were very comfortable. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The check-in/check-out process was quick and easy. The horses are clearly well cared for and the riding is beautiful. They do their best to suit rider to horse and give the option to request horses which is great. The pool area was beautiful as well and the different lounge areas are super inviting. I highly recommend Sundance and will definitely be a return guest!

This was the 7th year that my adult daughter and I spent the weekend after Labour Day at the ranch. As always, it ran like clockwork from the check-in routine to the first afternoon ride to each wonderful meal to the super comfy beds. And of course, the dance! Please don't change a thing - we LOVE every second!

My partner and I booked out the ranch for our wedding reception and it was one of the best weekends we've ever had. All of our guests loved it! The hosts were super welcoming and easy going and helped us throughout the entire weekend (even cleaning up the saloon and its ridiculous count of empty booze cans each morning!) The horseback riding was very pleasant and the horses were calm and well trained - would highly recommend this spot to anyone.

Unfortunately, the fires and the smoke made our trip much shorter than we planned with not much riding but no worries we will be back. We love how the owners care about their horses and they really tried to make the experience a fun one coming up with new ways to entertain. The staff are simply amazing!!!

We have visited the Sundance Guest Ranch for 4 years. Arriving feels like coming home. The staff, the views of rolling hills and the amazing experiences with the horses out exploring the surrounding trails is a highlight of our year! We look forward to returning! I love that everything is taken care of for you and you can relax and enjoy each moment of your stay. The worst part is having to leave!
