My Wife and I were looking for a place to stay that was near to the Waterton National Park in southern Alberta and we came across the Rocky Ridge Country Lodge. After looking at the reviews on Trip Advisor, we decided to book a 2 night stay with our dates being 11 and 12 September 2022.

In short, this place is absolutely amazing from the grounds, to the rooms and a huge shout out goes to the staff. The lodge is family owned with Josh and Kim (Husband and Wife) along with Josh's Mother Jan who all worked tirelessly to make our stay memorable.

The rooms are perfectly clean and there is enough common areas that people can be to themselves if they wish, or congregate with the other guests if they so desire.

Your stay will also include a breakfast fit for a king, prepared by Josh as you stand and chat with him. The portions are huge and of superb quality. He is a master cook and a wealth of knowledge as he knows just about everything there is to know about the area, hikes, attractions, dining options etc.

My Wife and I can't wait to go back as we can't say enough about this experience.

We had never stayed at a Bed and Breakfast before and we had some slight misgivings about the "Bed and Breakfast" concept, but we are now 100% sold on this kind of getaway.

The location is perfect as well; the Lodge is situated in Mountain View, Alberta which is a 20 minute drive from the Waterton Park gates. When you compare the prices of accommodation in Waterton Park to what we paid at this Lodge, there is no comparison as the value here is far superior to staying in the Park.

Give it a try as we are certain that we will be returning in the very near future.

Heartfelt shout out to Josh, Kim, Jan and the rest of the Rocky Ridge "gang".

We absolutely love this place! Josh is an amazing host, he goes the extra mile and is always available for anything you need. The rooms, shared spaces, kitchens everything is spotless and well taken care of. The breakfasts are our favorite as Josh is an amazing cook and the portions are huge!

Being so close to Waterton Park makes this a perfect place to stay without the extreme price tags within the park.

The breakfast is amazing. The menu has several options. There's something for everyone and the portions are very generous. But to get the included breakfast you have to book directly with the property owner. Booking.com reservations don't include a breakfast. The breakfast is worth booking directly with the lodge owner.

I recently stayed here on a M-F hiking trip with my dad. The room was perfect as it had a basic and cozy room with a private bath, and a loft area for sleeping as well, so it gave both my father and I separate places to sleep, giving us both privacy.

The grounds were incredibly well kept, and nice to sit outdoors for a while in the evening after a long day on the trails.

As everyone else has stated, the breakfasts were pretty awesome! They were big too, so we had lots of nourishment in the morning before hiking. We never even bought sandwiches anyway to take with us, just had a few hiking bars for lunch and it was enough. I can't decide which breakfast choice was my favorite!

There was an area where there was a coffee bar and a refrigerator that could be used at any time. We refilled our water bottles each night and used the downstairs freezer each night so they would last.

It was honestly a place that was a cozy as home.

It was convenient to Waterton Lakes Park, about 10 minutes away, and very peaceful. In the midst of the park it is very busy and congested, so getting away from that was really nice.

Josh was a great host, we never met his wife, but Jan was also there when we arrived and they both made us feel very welcome!

Highly reccommend!

A very modern, clean, yet cozy "western" and rustic lodge that is SO welcoming, comfortable and unique. I would love to return for a 2 or 3 day retreat alone or with friends or family. It was in-between seasons so only 2 rooms in use, but we were allowed to use the big fridge in the kitchen for our own things. It was great to have access to a kitchen in the evening. So wonderfully peaceful! And if you want to sky-watch at night, this is the place! The flowers in the gardens and in pots were beyond amazing. Very homey. Not the place for people who are uncomfortable sharing a bathroom with others on the same floor.

The country lodge was a perfect spot for the 9 members of our hiking group. We enjoyed a very comfortable stay in the beautiful rustic lodge. The breakfasts prepared by Josh our host were absolutely delicious and we felt right at home with his warm hospitality. The large diningroom and living area were perfect for lots of socializing with our group. Really enjoyed the beautiful grounds and gardens. Will definitely return!

It was cold with snow predicted so we abandoned plans to tent camp in Waterton town site and called The Rocky Ridge. Josh, the owner manager, found us a room for 3 nights. Breakfast was included because we booked direct. Our room was spacious and comfortable with views of the rolling prairie lands and gorgeous flowers everywhere in Josh's garden and surroundings.

We chose breakfast each night from a menu that had 6 yummy choices. My favourite was blueberry pancakes and scrambled eggs. Generous portions!

We had the house to ourselves most of the time and had the kitchen available to make our bag lunches and cook our own dinners. We made use of the pool table. There's a hot tub too, but we are not hot tub people so gave it a pass. The grounds are beautiful, and there's an outdoor fire circle for guests as well. It's a short drive to Waterton for hiking, which we did every day we were there.

Josh is a friendly, helpful, welcoming host. This is great value for your money!!

We stayed here for three nights and enjoyed it immensely. Although it is about 30 kms from Waterton the drive there and back was never an issue as one had beautiful scenery to enjoy along the way. Breakfasts were exceptional. The commercial kitchen was available to us to fix dinner and make lunches…very well equipped. Our room had two queen beds and an ensuite bathroom. Very comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.

Very clean lodge with a generous breakfast that you pick from a menu. The lodge is in the countryside so it's very relaxing and can be a vacation place on its own whether you're visiting the national park or not. It's only about a 15 min drive from the national park so you can do the roundtrip once or twice a day. The lodge is family owned and very well taken care of. Beds are comfortable and rooms are very clean and well decorated in country and mountain style.
Lovely place. Thanks Josh!

I highly recommend staying here. The family that runs the bed and breakfast are all very nice and make sure to keep the place clean. The first time I got here I thought “wow how beautiful.” Its cozy like a cabin but has beautiful kitchen and dining area, the breakfasts are so delicious I’d eat here everyday if I could. The rooms are cute and have very comfy beds (especially the pillows.) it’s a great place to get away and it’s just a short drive from the mountains.

As far as I am aware, this is not seasonal. Have only visited in June, but was left with the impression it is year round. Guarantee you will love this place. Josh does a magnificent job. Enjoy!
