Detailed Reviews
You have to cross the border into Alberta via Carway border crossing to stay here, but it's a fantastic place to stay to visit Waterton Lakes National Park and Many Glacier in Glacier National Park. You do have to download an app on your phone that shows your covid vaccination status and passport, but it's worth it. To fully visit Glacier National Park, I suggest entering the park from West Glacier, drive Going to the Sun Road and exploring Logan Pass (make sure you have the required permit to drive that road in the summer or you can't enter), exit at St Mary and drive to Babb Montana to stay overnight at the highly recommended Thronson's Motel and General Store, go to Many Glacier entrance the next day and hike with bear spray to the different lakes and waterfalls, drive the short distance to cross the border at Carway, drive the less than hour to Bear Country Inn and Suites and have a great rest. The next morning, drive to Waterton Lakes (the Canadian side of Waterton-Glacier National Peace Park) and visit gorgeous Prince of Wales Lodge and do your hikes before returning back to Bear Country Inn and Suites for another night or two. That way, you can truly see Glacier National Park in all its splendor! Bear Country Inn and Suites aims to please, and it's very obvious: immaculate rooms, heat-A\C, micro, fridge, coffee maker, cute decor, free ice cream cone on arrival, gift shop, and free breakfast consisting of french toast, waffle, breakfast sandwich, with bacon\sausage, or lighter yogurt and granola, fruit, toast, and cereal. They also serve basic meals for lunch and dinner including a burger, grilled cheese, fries, fish, small salads, onion rings, and other dishes. Gas is available and I would stay nowhere else when visiting the Canadian side of Glacier National Park. Stephanie and Jeff run a first rate establishment, and they do NOT gouge, but are extremely reasonable for their very well tended motel\cafe, gas station, gift shop so close to two fantastic parks!

Our stay here was great! We picked it for the location close to Waterton National Park (15-20 minutes) and for its more reasonable price compared to the lodging in the Waterton town center. We stayed in Suite #7 which has a full sized fridge and stove. It has 2 bedrooms (1 twin and 1 queen) and a day bed with a trundle bed in the living room. It is an older establishment, but every thing was clean and up to date. The bedding was nice, towels were nice, and they provided plenty of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. There were also samples of homemade soap and moisturizer that you can purchase from their store. This unit did not have AC, but it was on the bottom floor like a walk out basement with windows that opened. Even though temperatures were 15-20 degrees above normal, it stayed cool with open windows at night. They have just about everything you could need here: gas station, groceries, souvenirs, clothing, restaurant, and ice cream. Breakfast was provided free of charge and it was amazing!!! You picked an entree and 2 sides plus a drink. The French toast was the best I have ever had and the rest of my family enjoyed the waffles with fresh fruit and ice cream on top. They also had grab and go items such as yogurt, cereal, muffins, and pastries for guests. We also got 2 free coupons for a scoop of ice cream in a bowl, cone, or homemade waffle cone. We did the “single” scoop in a waffle cone and it was at least 2 normal scoops of ice cream and waffle cone was delicious! They had 16 different flavors of ice cream. Everyone was friendly and I can’t really think of a negative thing to say about our accommodations. If we ever come back this way, we would definitely stay there again!

Family owned motel between Waterton Park and Cardston, in the very small town of Mountain View. It is a small motel that is behind the General Store/ gas station/ ice cream/ diner. The staff is very friendly. The stay includes continental or a cook to order breakfast off their menu. It also includes homemade waffle cone ice cream- which we.enjoyed after a day at Waterton park. The rooms are older but very clean and updated with outlets & usb ports. They are decorated with a rustic theme. There are plenty of fluffy towels and nice shampoo/conditioner and body wash items. There is cell coverage in the area and Wi-Fi. There are grills for every unit plus picnic tables.
It is a great place to stop for ice cream or to stay a night.

We stayed here for nine days with our two children. The suite we stayed in had two bedrooms and a full kitchen. It was very clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice from a waffle machine to breakfast sandwiches cooked fresh on request. The staff were so friendly and could not do enough to help. The store there was very useful again with everything you need and also serves great ice cream !
In a great location for visiting Waterton Lakes but also less than an hour from the US boarder crossings.
We enjoyed the stay so much we have already booked again for same time next year and cant wait to go back !

Was visiting in Waterton Lakes. The place was convenient and really clean - a room for the night. The folks running it are very genuine. He came in in the morning to make sure we were able to get breakfast on Sunday. We also ate there the previous night. From what I saw of reviews on the local restaurant scene, this seemed like the best option. The WiFi worked and I'd stay here again, if in the area.

Just perfect-location in the middle of nowhere (but still surrounded with amazing nature), staff, breakfast, fast working internet. The motel has a grocery shop and a gas station. Room was big and clean. Good choice for travelers from Calgary/Alberta to Montana and vice versa.

If you are looking for a resort experience, this is not a good choice. However, if you are looking for a clean room with basic amenities, this would be a reasonable choice. The Inn was attached to a well stocked convenience store (with a handful of tables), post office, gift shop and gas station. The drive to Waterton village is 20-25 minutes.
Staff were friendly and accommodating and the complimentary breakfast had a good selection to choose from.
A couple of negatives.... would have appreciated a fridge in the room; also, directly in front of room, was a fenced in area with diesel storage tanks.

The inn itself is good but the owner--who also runs a general store, a cafe, and a gar bar--was not following the recently mandated public health guidelines. All people working in a business are required to wear a mask as are their customers. We never saw him or most of his customers wearing masks. We were dismayed by this because Alberta has the highest COVID rates in Canada and a lot of COVID cases in rural Alberta. I don't think it's right for a business to defy health orders put in place to protect Albertans and visitors.

It doesn’t look like much but the room was immaculate and certainly adequate for our needs. Bed was comfortable and the owner very helpful when we had a problem with the TV. Breakfast was prepared to our order and was served quickly.
You could probably have an evening meal here if fast food was all you wanted. We got food in Waterton but things are very pricey there.
I would not hesitate to recommend this place given the location.

I stayed for a month while working nearby in Waterton Park. The location was great (only a 15 minute drive to the park) and the room was really nice. It is a little dated, with no air conditioning and paper thin walls, but it's clean and comfortable.
The staff was great and made me feel like family. The included breakfast was great too--a sandwich with a farm fresh egg and other things. The attached store had everything you need at fair prices.
The room price was very fair too, especially for the area.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Bear Country Inn and Suites to anyone and if I end up in the area again I wouldn't stay anywhere else!
