Our property is perched above the Thompson River, across from spectacular White Canyon, near Lytton, BC. We offer amazing whitewater rafting, unique accommodation options, and a full-service restaurant, in one of the most beautiful areas of BC.
We all were in awe of our beautiful surroundings. I booked 2 x King Cabins (10 & 11) they were equipped with rustic furniture and the bed was huge! We slept like logs, the temperature outside wasn't too cold and we were cosy in those beds but there was an extra cover if we needed it. Equipped with solar power stations to charge phones and lights for the evening The cabins came with ear plugs, toiletries & towels, very clean and the shower/toilet blocks were very clean too. There are 2 open camp fire stations too which we used one of the evenings (stayed 2 nights). Breakfast, lunch and dinner was cooked by an excellent chef, the food was fabulous! The staff - reception staff, bus driver Denis and Connor, our rafting guide were superb and very knowledgeable about the area and rafting and we all felt totally at ease with Connor once in the raft, leading our experience. It was an unforgettable day.
If you are looking for the real deal - this is it!

After experiencing the Kumsheen rafting experience with my wife and sons in September, I came home and immediately started working to find a way to bring my high school outdoor recreation class back for a weekend this Spring. I found out they were opening early this year and we booked the first 2 nights they were open in April. The staff at Kumsheen went out of their way to make sure we had a great time. The Campground is located in one of the most picturesque location in BC (that one can drive to) and the students thoroughly enjoyed their time hanging out there playing volleyball, hot tubbing and chatting at the firepit. The guides were very proficient in their ability to keep the students feeling safe and yet nervously excited about the next set of waves. At the lunch stop, one of our students was cold after going for an unplanned swim and one of the guides offered him extra clothing he had brought along. This made a huge difference in the student's ability to enjoy the second half of our trip and it was a great example of the type of hospitality we were shown throughout our time there. I can't say enough about how great our experience was at Kumsheen and if you run an outdoor rec program at your school, this trip is a no-brainer! Book it! You will not be disappointed . . .

Thank you so much Brad! We appreciate your support and kind words, how amazing to experience Kumsheen with your family and again with your outdoor recreation class! We are so happy to hear that all the students thoroughly enjoyed their time with us and all the amenities the resort has to offer, and great to be able to have a fire. We hope that we are able to see you again next season with a new set of students to create more memories, or another beautiful vacation with your family!

What a wonderful experience! We weren’t exactly sure what we were in for, as we’re definitely out-of-towners, but we wanted a unique Canadian adventure! Kumsheen did not disappoint. A bit off the beaten path and a tad remote to get to, but so worth it, and a beautiful drive too! Driving up to the lovely resort entrance and being welcomed by such a warm, friendly and professional crew was just the start. We started with a great lunch, then donned the appropriate attire: wetsuits provided by Kumsheen, and (sunscreen, bathing suits, sturdy water shoes) and set out on a short bus ride to a sandy beach a ways up the Thompson River. At the raft entry location we spent a bit of time learning about the what-ifs and how to be cautious and give reverence to the mighty water.
Elliott and his knowledgeable colleagues really go above and beyond to make you feel safe and that you’re in great hands! Quite literally, the guide has to understand and know things, that well…we just don’t know! That level of comfort is hard to achieve and it was a great reassurance for someone like me, a gal who likes to be in control at all times. Well done!
Riding those waves and feeling the unpredictable intensity of Mother Nature is a feeling like nothing else! We would definitely recommend and hope to be back sometime!

Great stay in a teepee with our young teens as part of a road trip. The teepee has beds which we found super comfy with cosy blankets, a torch for light, and towels. The stars were beautiful here.
The resort is good - offers clean facilities, a cool pool, outdoor games which kept us all busy - volleyball, basketball, giant chess etc. Added bonus of some friendly little kittens to fuss and play with.
Also has a nice indoor space with multiple chair set ups with tables and parlour games and a small shop for cold and hot drinks and some snacks. Although this does close when reception closes, which was a shame as it was a cool place to hang out.
There is a breakfast and dinner option, but be aware that they have to be booked in advance. If you haven’t done it in time, you’d better have brought stuff with you as there’s nothing available in the nearby vicinity.
Other reviews we read before going mentioned noise from the road and railway. We didn’t have any issues with either to be honest. No trains went past, and being a townie most of the time, we weren’t bothered by any noise from passing cars. They also provided ear plugs, so it’s easily solved.
All in all, a lovely stop in our road trip.

First time staying and rafting, while my family has been a few times before. The resort was lovely, lots of wildlife and staff was very friendly. The live music by the pool in the evenings was a bonus and soo good.
We stayed in the canvas cabins, which were clean, had fresh towels available, and took away a lot of the stress of packing. Beds were a bit firmer than I’m used to, but with my own pillow from home was a comfortable sleep.
Our rafting experience was great, lots of good rapids, experienced and fun guides, and the water was the perfect cool off for the 36C days!!
Looking forward to coming back again with more friends!

Our vacation stay was from Friday August 26 – Monday August 29 with rafting on the Fraser River and a full meal plan. We have been overnight guests and been rafting here before, we had a fantastic rafting and dining experience in the past that is why we came back. Unfortunately, it was not the case this time around.
The men’s washroom facilities were in a terrible state of repair, uncleaned for days and smelled of urine.
At our dinner on Saturday night August 27, we found a hair in our Caesar Salad that was not ours, the Pasta Ragu was over cooked and like soup. We chose to go with the salmon, when the two packets arrived it was over cooked, only one and a half pieces of fish and certainly not enough for four people.
When we asked to see the manger, the server said she would contact us, she never did even though she had plenty of opportunities to do so.
Also, the fixed menu on their website is not as advertised and this was extremely disappointing.
It appeared that all the dinners and the lunch burrito were the same meat, pulled pork and shredded cooked flank, if indeed that is what it was. We were so disappointed that we ended up cancelling lunch Saturday and dinner Sunday and made do with the little food we had with us. The only positive thing I can say about our dining experience was the breakfast was good, other than having a hair in the coffee cream.
Lastly, the office staff highly encourage guests to leave 5 star reviews. Once guests do this and show the staff their 5 star review, the guests are entered to win a free rafting vacation at Kumsheen. Which explains all the great reviews.

Booked online several months out, but had some special requests. The staff were always responsive and helpful. Our family booked three sites. The tents were clean and setup well. There are string lings and a battery for charging phones provided. The resort is in a busy location for highway and train traffic. They provide ear plugs, but you may want own.
The resort is nicely setup. Had no issues with washroom provided. There's also an outdoor shower for washing off feet, but also good option to quickly cool down. The pool and hot tub are clean and well maintained.
We pre-ordered one dinner. There are some options for children, but adults are provided family style plates. We were very happy with the food. You can bring a cooler of food and the resort has ice you can use. The only other option is the Chinese restaurant in Shaw Springs.
This was a great experience. If in high heat of summer, you will need to be prepared, but the main resort lodge has AC to help cool you down. They also have lots of games on resort (disc golf, basketball).

Second time rafting at Kumsheen and I cannot recommend the place enough! Absolutely amazing setting, the grounds, the river, the weather.. little slice of heaven.. The grounds are very well kempt and have cute little niches with different outdoor activities (giant outdoor chess board, tether ball, basketball hoop, pool and hot tub… The staff are all absolutely professional and at the same time friendly and knowledgeable (we laughed and yelled with excitement our whole way down the river). I cannot commend our raft staff enough.. they were so much fun and made sure we all were totally up to snuff on the safety aspects of our trip). Kudos to Hannah (a cute little fountain of knowledge of the “outdoorsy” stuff), “King” Taj (ask him, lol), our photographer Lizzie and our “chase” raft driver Zac). Our group just did the afternoon “float” and did not actually stay at the resort. We did however get a housekeeper to show us one of the tent “cabins”…. Great size, wooden floors, raised beds, different configurations of course to accommodate different sized parties …. I would strongly recommend this place for an absolutely fabulous experience!

Absolutely loved my experience at Kumsheen this weekend. The resort itself is well maintained, staff are absolutely lovely and welcoming, and the amenities offered at the resort offer something for each member of the family.
As a first time rafter, I’m extremely grateful to have had my first experience with Kumsheen. Our raft guides, Connor and Annie, were both knowledgeable, skilled, and provided a safe and fun time on the water.
I definitely know I will be going back again, likely for an extra day or two next time!

This was a surprise wedding anniversary from my husband! We had an absolutely amazing time on the river as well as at the resort. Each and every staff member were delivered great customer service. The Cutting Board Restaurant food was delicious, and live music both nights was an additional bonus. A special thank you to Annie our river rafting guide, who had many stories about this beautiful part of our province. highly recommend this place.

No fridge or outlets in the tent cabins anyway. They give you a propane lantern to use but we just used flashlights. Left tablet and cell phone on car charger overnight. Did not miss outlets. For what it is worth, we absolutely loved staying there.
There are more places to choose from in the Lytton area.
