We only had a drink and a snack (grilled veg ciabatta and a blt) but loved the attention to detail, the airy rooms and relaxed atmosphere. Large garden too. The village is lovely with riverside walks close to The Compasses. Looking forward to our next...More
My partner and I were staying at an Air bnb in the village as a pit stop after a day exploring the New Forest when we came across this gem.
Food was amazing; we had scallops to share as a starter, followed by spinach and...More
Sadly this cottage needed a refurb the furniture and fixtures and fittings were old and tired ! The mattresses downstairs were old and uncomfy and the couch stained and dirty ! I found mouldy bread in the cupboard and there was dust and cobwebs everywhere...More
Stayed here for 3 nights, 29th may - 1st June 2017. For the price paid £120 per night, we were very disappointed in our accommodation. Our 'deluxe' double room was only average, with the shower cubicle needing some attention, but our biggest appointment was with...More

Hi there! The cottage is in the pub car park opposite the pub. About 15 meters from the front door of the cottage is the entrance to the village playing field where you are very welcome to exercise your dog, (providing you clear up after it). There is several acres of grass there to let the dog have a good run, there are also good walks around the village. We recently took our ex-racing Greyhound here for a four night break and he was equally welcome in the pub as well. We had a great time and cannot recommend this as a place to stay for dog owners enough.
