Very basic and good price. I cannot emphasize enough how beautiful the area is. Either direction that you explore is just gorgeous. The farm has high cliffs on one side, and a very cute small fishing town in the other direction. Drive further up along the coast about an hour or so, and there are caves that can be explored (with a guide check for times). Kristin the host greeted me in the driveway, and made me coffee while we chatted. He is very helpful giving advice on places to go and very warm and sweet. He made me a nice breakfast of coffee, fruit, toast, cereal and skyrr. The second morning I was there Kristin invited some young kids from Israel and France that were staying in the cabin and camping on the property to come have breakfast, and had us draw bible verses and read them out of bibles each from different languages. Kristin is very religious, and I am not, but I don't mind discussing religion, and he was not preachy at all. It was nice to converse with people and compare cultural views about different things, including religion. All in all a very good experience. I would love to go to Iceland again and stay at the same place.

We booked and payed this accomodation through internet, directly with the owner, mr Kristin Kverna. At arrival the owner was not present, and no key available. The cottage looks terrible form the outside. The brother who lives was not pleased with this sitiation and told us his brother booked the cottage more often and than disappeared so tourists find a closed door. The tourist office also recognizes this problem and is trying their best to do something about it. We informed the Lonely Planet and advised them to remove this accomodation out of their guide. Our advice: don't book this accomodation ps: we finally got in contact with mr Kristinn and got our money we payed in advance back

We stayed for 1 night in the cottage. The cottage is tiny and completely--I mean completely jammed with furniture. It is difficult to walk around in the lower level because of all the seating benches and chairs and tables. There are 7 mattresses crammed into the upstairs space, so technically it sleeps 7 but I cannot imagine 7 people actually staying together in the cottage. The kitchen is partially equipped and we were only able to prepare a meal because we had our own backpacking pot. There is a nice veranda around the cottage if the weather is good. There were beautiful views on 3 sides of waterfalls & the sea, but be prepared that there is some kind of gravel quarry right next door. There wasn't significant noise from it, but it was lit up all night long and kind of an eyesore in an otherwise beautiful setting. The farmer was a sweet guy and a welcoming host and he prepared a really nice breakfast for us in the main house. He is rather religious and had us draw bible verses out of a bowl and read them. It was ok, but if this will make you uncomfortable, you should know about it in advance.

Kerva is a farm just 2km away from the village center of Grundarfjordur. this little fishermen village is a very peaceful place, located on an amazing fjord, surrounded by sea and mountains, waterfalls, and horses on the wild. Kristian the owner is a very religious man, and very serious person. but he is very very communicative and likes to make guests feel at ease at his place. he showed me some places near the village. very nice guy. just out the farm you have horses and waterfalls. amazing nature.
