Stay from 10/29 to 11/11 in the residence now managed by Valérie and Yankel. Very warm welcome in a cottage that we already knew and which we appreciated for its calm, its layout and the environment. I had expected to resort to my minimal French but was happy to learn upon arrival that Thierry speaks English very well. I don't notice other TA reviews of the Residence deshroses in English so this point may be of interest to English-speaking travelers.
The convenience of being met at the airport (and returned) is hard to imagine unless you have encountered the alternative (as we had done a year before). Rush-hour traffic is surprisingly intense (but generally flowing unless there is an accident) in any direction from PTP and the lines at the airport rental car agencies are considerable. So the gîte+voiture option is extremely attractive. Our vehicle (stick-shift) was powerful enough to handle easily the hills of Basse-Terre Island as well as a long round-trip drive to the Pointe des Châteaux at the eastern tip of Grande-Terre.
The gîte had been recently renovated with a fully furnished new kitchen and bathroom that included a nice shower. It was all very clean. We enjoyed freshly baked pastry every morning on the patio overlooking the garden (just ask for it the night before and it will be waiting for you in the morning on the table of your patio). The loft bedroom has its own window and ceiling fan so the air conditioning, while available, is unnecessary for sleeping. Wifi worked perfectly.
The location is wonderful, just 5 minutes' drive (or a manageable long walk) from the lovely Plage de la Perle, 8-10 minutes from Plage de Grande Anse, 10-12 minutes from the charming town of Deshaies. And an easy (no traffic) 10 minutes by car from a very good grocery store on the road to Sainte-Rose. The nearby Langley Resort Hotel and its restaurant are convenient if you have just arrived (better meals are available a short drive away) but the beach at the resort is beautiful at a short walkable distance of 300 meters.
The pool and pavilion ("carbet") at the Residence are delightful. The pool is chlorine-free and refreshing, nicely sized, never crowded.
The hosts (Thierry and Stephane) are unfailingly helpful, efficient, and pleasant. They are friendly, available for assistance, and politely unobtrusive.
There seem to be many repeat visitors here and we now know why. We hope to be among them in the future!

Great gites in an excellent location. You can walk to a nearby beach, and 2 even nicer beaches (Plage de la Perle and Plage de Grande-Anse) are a quick drive away.

We enjoyed our two nights at Deshroses: very clean, nice and quiet at a fair price. Very well equipped. The only hangup is a very weak wifi or so to say next to no internet connection. The rest was excellent!

We had a great stay, the accommodation is well adapted, clean, with comfort, very good bedding which is not negligible especially after hikes and outings, plus the hosts are charming, available and good advisors as to outings to do.
In a word, we recommend this place. For our part, we took full eyes, good value Award, all in a beautiful lowland setting.
