Very pleasant stay in an idyllic setting where green nature, the gentle rustling of the river and the intoxicating songs of birds intertwine. Plus enjoy a breathtaking sea view!!! The setting is perfect!
In addition, constancy, availability, lovers of Guadeloupe characterize the host of the place: Ghyslain. He is always ready to help us discover Guadeloupe in a different and original way.
We loved our stays at Ecolodge Karet and highly recommend it. To do again!!!! Thank you very much Ghyslain.

We were received by a man with a heart on his sleeve. Thank you for welcoming us to this very beautiful, very pleasant, picturesque site where a beautiful river flows. The song of the river accompanied us on the way to the bungalows. A real treat for the ears but also for the eyes in this beautiful tropical garden. Comfort was there. Really worth doing again.

Our family of 6 adults and 2 children spent two weeks at the Villa Mango, part of Ecologes Karet in Deshaies. It's a lovely house, spacious, very clean, with a large and welcoming terrace and pool. It was perfect for our family, with a well-appointed and convenient kitchen and comfortable beds. The table on the terrace easily seats 8. There's a charcoal grill at the villa, and washer/drier on site. We spent most of our time on the terrace when at the house, cooked a number of meals there, and felt very much at home. There are two bathrooms, one large one and a small one that is en suite in one of the bedrooms. The house is very open, and is in a natural setting, so be prepared for some wild-life and insects, including mosquitoes (all beds have netting), and the occasional millipedes, spiders, little lizards. Chickens and at least one rooster roam the grounds and are not shy, and there are a couple of neighborhood cats that also make themselves at home. Ghyslain - the caretaker there - was super nice.
The house is in a really good location, a short walk to the Plage de Grand Anse, and a short drive to the even more beautiful Plage de la Perle, as well as other smaller beaches like Plage Leroux, a 15 minute drive, and the calmest/best for little kids, and the gorgeous (and practically deserted) Plage de Tillet. Deshaies is a sleepy little town but has a nice feel, a good boulangerie/patisserie, several good restaurants, a Spar store, and some nice small souvenir shops. And of course, there is the "Honore" police station in the center of town (where the British TV series "Death in Paradise" is filmed). There is also a large supermarket, the Super-U, on the road between St. Rose and Deshaies.
The area is one of the nicest in Guadeloupe (this was our second visit to Guadeloupe/Deshaies) as far as we've seen, very unspoiled but with plenty to do beach-wise, and there are water-sports available too. Driving on the island is on narrow windy roads but a car is a must. We also visited the Parc Zoologique, which was awesome, particularly for kids.

My wife and I spent 5 nights in the Alizée bungalow. Our first impression was good, the location itself is nicely situated in the woods, with a beautiful terrace, in walking distance from the nice beach of Grande Anse, the host was friendly and helpful.
With a closer look, we felt the place was a bit run down, although maintenance was conducted, but not at Western standards. Electrical switches and towel holders are over and overpainted with the wrong (wall) paint, so that dirt sticked. We felt the bed/matress was so saggy that it was hard to spend a relaxing night. Wifi was not working properly, might also be good to have a look at that. All in all this was not what we had expected at 119€/night, compared to other locations we stayed on Guadeloupe just before and afterwards. In this condition, not worth more than 80€/ night, but this was not what we were looking for. If renovated and modernized professionally the place can be nice.
