You come to the level of the canopy and there: Wow: the dream!! .The charm works right away!!!.The Lodges are located high above Riflet Beach and the beautiful Pearl Beach.
Helen and Bruce welcomed us with great kindness and they were available throughout the stay if we needed any advice or info.
You can even make a catering request. Hélène and Bruce offer dishes according to the seasons.
Arriving at La Canopée you will discover this unobstructed view of the Caribbean Sea that changes color as the daylight changes.
And yes, the Lodge (we booked the lodge Frangipanier) is ventilated properly thanks to the openings and the air that circulates. No windows closed but curtains , shutters and an air conditioning to refresh a little in the evening: the perfect combo for the West Indies!!The top!.
The layout of the lodge is well thought out and the materials are quality including bedding , bathrooms with showers , dishes and the kitchen area very complete. You can also prepare a dish in the open kitchen. A must not so common in rentals! .
We were able to enjoy the large terrace from 6am to late evening. We felt so good in the middle of nature that some days we didn't want to move. The show is permanent!!: Hummingbirds, sugar cane will be before your eyes and in the evening the frogs' song will take over.
The pool allows you to cool off at the hottest hours and enjoy the plancha 😉.
This is a beautiful discovery that we recommend with our eyes closed!
We'll be back next year.

Frankly disappointed with this rental, especially considering the price: 200 € per night for two bedrooms is excessive considering the quality of the accommodation.
Here's why:
Deplorable comfort: One of the beds was completely collapsed in the middle, forming a bowl. We slept very badly there. The towels and bedding were also in poor condition (a towel with holes, another bleached, a pillow cover completely torn).
Insufficient cleanliness and equipment: The fridge was badly cleaned, a piece of furniture was broken, the toaster was twisted and no sponge was provided for washing dishes. Besides, the dishes were incomplete (5 forks for 4 people). As they only provide one capsule for the dishwasher, we ended up doing the dishes by hand with each meal.
- Hot water problem: The hot water balloon was cold three quarters of the time, which is very unpleasant after a day trip.
Swimming pool not usable: The pool is facing north, so it is always cold. Honestly, the sea was warmer, which says a lot...
- Improper layout of the terrace: The kitchen/dining room is actually on the outdoor terrace. Except in Guadeloupe, it rains and sells often. As much of the terrace is in the rain, we all had to pile up on the same side of the table to stay dry.
Very limited Internet connection: The internet is provided via Starlink, but the router is so bad that the signal didn't even reach our lodging. As there was also no mobile network, it made it extremely difficult to organize our stay.
Failure of electrical installation: The light on the terrace was constantly flashing. Being photosensitive, it made my evenings on the terrace very complicated. The owner claimed it was an EDF issue, but clearly it is an electrical installation issue, as all other appliances were working very well.
- Total absence of sun on the terrace: The terrace is facing north, so no sunrise or sunset. Add to that the wind and frequent rain, and the place becomes very unpleasant.
- Access to the beach: did not go there if you plan to go to the beach on foot. It's way too far from anything on foot.

Frankly, for €200 a night, that's unacceptable. This rental was clearly a disappointment, I advise you to pass your way.

From the moment We saw the place we liked it, then we had a complicated schedule (normal check in, very late check out) but made an arrangement easily with our host Helene, a very very nice lady so first thing You ask: easiness, sympathy, check!
As for the arrival, is not complicated but prepare well on navigator or map as the entrance is a 90º turn on the coastal main road and is narrow and uphill. Helene was waiting for us and heard us call for her as they live there too. If You need advice on restos or places and speak some french is all done. She understand english and speaks too so it complemented well when we were in doubt.
The place has the spectacular view You can see here (and in booking) and even better! having a planteur (on the house!) or a beer in your terrace is a heavenly pleasure! As for the kitchen, is outside and You have your needs covered if not willing to go out (but please do it at least sometimes as You can have a good creole experience for as little as 30E pp). The inner space is good and have AC, just mind the door and windows are open and you need mosquito repellent. They provide a mosquito electrical repellant and is a nice deal!
We suggested either a window/door mosquito net or real glass window/doors but understand that this way is frequent in the island.
Closeby is Deshaies (or Honoré if You fancy "death in Paradise" and both Grand Anse and La Perle, both wonderful beaches!! It takes 30' from/to the airport and in the road You can find several supermarkets to fill your fridge.

Be careful mistake not to make. Following our booking we were asked to pay in full. In October forced to cancel my husband's declared cancer. That's four months before departure. The owner won't refund us 70%

A week in a true haven of peace. Very clean and very well equipped accommodation. Breathtaking views of the ocean and a breathtaking private pool. Thanks to Hélène and Bruce for their warm welcome and their availability. Such an experience should be reimbursed by the security system as long as we come away feeling reassured.

We booked Jean-Pierre accommodation for two weeks, but had to leave after only four days due to several problems already reported by other visitors. The accommodation was old, with furniture worn out by moisture, outdated and in poor condition. The crib in the room smelled like urine, and although we did not use it, the smell persisted, which was very unpleasant. The absence of mosquito nets complicated ventilation and being inside, since the so-called door is actually an alluminium shutter, which does not allow light to pass through and makes the space in night mode. Moreover, the window has only wooden shutters, which also prevents natural light and contributes to a suffocating atmosphere. Unimaginable to sleep window open in these conditions with noisy air conditioning over your head. We were invaded by insects, which was of particular concern because of the dengue epidemic that plagued the area during our stay. We were filled with mosquito bites, both indoors and outdoors on the terrace, which made our stay very uncomfortable. Catering, which was mentioned on the site at the Reservation, was in fact non-existent. We learned from the concierge that it was not available because the Owner was in Metropolis on vacation. We also encountered problems with the pool on the first evening and the blocked sink. The foreign property owner on vacation at that time, did not respond quickly (2 days later) to our calls/messages, leaving the concierge to handle the problems, which he could not always handle themselves according to their responsibility, example catering, very poor quality wifi. Moreover, she did not deign to offer an arrangement and never bothered to reply to our last registered letter after our return from vacation which requested compensation for the 4 days occupancy. In the end, only the view is spectacular and the position of the accommodation, but this does not compensate for all the inconveniences and vulgar and inappropriate language of the property owner who suggested we "get where she thought the comments we would follow up on." If you are not afraid of the mosquito bites and cats of the property owner moving into your home and everything else, this might be fine.
