This location made a great holiday. Very friendly and warm welcome. There is no bar and restaurant but hosts will helpfully deliver food and drink if you order it. However, in the event, we were very happy to organise our own provisions, making our own breakfast and then going out to explore the numerous delightful beach bars and restaurants serving delicious, reasonably priced food and great rum cocktails. It was a real discovery which, at a fraction of the price of other resorts, led to a unique and self-made experience of this wonderful island.

La Colline Verte is amazing! We went as a large group (37 people) and Dario, the owner, did everything to make our stay positive and relaxing. From the catered breakfast to the evening barbecues, Dario made sure we were well taken care of. The rooms are beautiful, clean and spacious, the kitchens have everything we needed, and the pool is beautiful. On every level, La Colline Verte surpassed our expectations. I would highly recommend this stay.

The Colline Verte bungalows are located on poorly maintained grounds and the swimming pool no longer looks like the photos on the reservation sites. Outdoor kitchens have outdated equipment. In our case, the freezer door in the refrigerator was missing as one of the door shelves, limiting the amount of room for food. The metal dining table had started to rust. One of the two windows in the room had no glass, only shutters which let mosquitoes in. The host is rarely on site, but available by cell phone. Very basic place, I wouldn't go back.

You will be welcomed by Gaetane who is a very warm person and she knows perfectly the good places in Guadeloupe ! We can see the sea from the bungalow...it is beautiful when having an early breakfast. The swimming pool is near the bungalow so that you watch out your kids. A helpful, friendly, polite and accommodating family runs the place. Creole style apartments with kitchens outdoors on the porch. Clean room, 1st morning warm baguette, plus jam, passion juice, coffee, tea, rhum punch, cocoa, sugar and oil supplied. Good internet. Cool, clean pool. 5 buildings with 2 attached apartments in each. The green cottage at the top may be a single We rented the yellow apartment and very quickly asked if another was available. It was small with a view of the owners house and a small, distant sea view. There was a smokey smell coming from outside, a clanging awning, a rusty stove and not much privacy. A very high hammock, old worn cookware, silverware, chipped glasses and mugs and a broken coffee maker. Old curtains with a rod too large for the grommets to slide. Biting mosquitoes that no coil or candle could stop. Annoying flies, chickens and a cat around during meals. They were very kind and allowed us to move to the pink apartment higher on the hill. The last 3 days we moved back to the yellow apartment. The pink apartment was an improvement. It had a panoramic view of the hill, the pool and the sea in the distance. Occasional breezes, newer toaster, coffee maker and large fridge, It was clean, the furniture was dated, the mattress old but comfortable. The bathroom, the bedroom and hallway had a bad smell so we bought air fresheners in St. Rose at the Super U. Went to a rhum tasting one night on the patio by the pool. Had fun conversing with other guests in our limited French. We didn't expect others to speak English. It was an enjoyable night but my husband was bitten by a nasty centipede at the picnic table. A/C and the fan at night plus bed netting limited mosquitoes but we couldn't stay under it all day Recommend insect spray with a high DEET number. Aggressive birds and wild chickens in the kitchen landed on the table and cabinets and pooped on the floor. Counter was crawling with tiny ants so I washed it with very hot water and vinegar. 1 bath towel and 1 hand towel for a week. They will do your laundry for 5eu a load. Quiet at night except for frogs and passing downpours. Daytime road noise from 12 wheeler trucks in the distance going to and from the gravel pit honk at each other while passing. 15 minute walk to Plage La Perle, Fort Royal and car rentals. It appears Fort Royal guests wore wristbands so we assumed the beach and grounds were private. The family is very nice and we are grateful for being moved from the yellow apartment to the pink. The place would benefit greatly with updating in all areas, replacing the counter tops, cabinets, kitchenware, adding comfortable seating etc. It all depends on your comfort level when choosing a place to stay here.

The outdoor space really made it special. We spent most of our time outdoors and didn't see a mosquito! Also liked the fact we could walk to the Langley Fort Royal hotel where we could sit in the outdoor covered bar / reception area and have a cappuccino close to the beach. It was about a 15-20 minute walk (photo attached). There is public access to the beach there as well.
We were not prepared for the traffic on the island. It was not too bad on Basse-Terre (although drivers were impatient to pass) but the traffic on Grande-Terre was terrible. It was also difficult to find a place to park or pull over at many of the places. We were so glad to have found a place to stay so relaxing and enjoyable.

Excellent location, on the side of the hill overlooking the ocean! We had an amazing holiday, the bungalows are fab, basic but equipped with everything you need including very efficient aircon. The kitchen was well stocked and we tended to eat in most nights making the most of the bbq! The views are fab, the photos on the website don't do it justice. You are close to some of the best beaches on the island, and its a simple drive to some lovely waterfalls or other activities you may want to try. The owners of the bungalows were very helpful and friendly which made our stay there so much better as we got some great tips on where to go and what to visit. I would recommend La Colline Vert to anyone who wanted to visit Guadeloupe and experience the island and not a generic resort which could be the same all over the world.

Large comfortable 180 cm bed, well-maintained swimming pool, very warm welcome, located near the beaches and shops, not much privacy, the cottages deserve more maintenance or renovation as the whole is aging
