This is a beautiful and very quiet place very close to the beach (about 75 meters). Very clean and comfortable and I recommend that you reserve a room with a terrace so you can enjoy hearing the ocean while relaxing in your hammock. No TV but that adds to the feeling of relaxation. We ordered contintal breakfast (at an extra cost) which was brought to the room and it was really fresh and nice. If you want to go to Deshaies the bus stop is only about 200 meters from the gite (make sure you have the exact fee). Vasco and Sofia are excellent and warm hearted hosts and they can help you with transfer arrangements, recommendations for tours etc. We will definately come back!

This is the second time we have rented at Rose des Vents. The location is really great! For us, the strong points are the cleanliness of the accommodation (everything is impeccable), the functionality of the accommodation, the good bedding, the kindness of the owners even if we rarely see them. The point to improve is really the dilapidation of the accommodation, such as in the bathroom (furniture at the end of its life, damaged mirror, broken tiles, rusty shower door, etc.), aging furniture, humidity in the common areas. .. It's a shame. We still had a very good stay and we recommend this address!

Located almost directly on the beach, this gite is run by Vasco and Sofia who not only speak English, but are always available to help and advise their guests. The apartments are cozy and friendly. The equipment is simple but it's everything you need. For our two week holiday this accommodation was a stroke of luck. Tip: Take ear opax. Like many places in the Caribbean, the cocks start to crow at four in the morning...

Very good accommodation, very well located near the beautiful Pearl beach (50m). The studio is well equipped for 2 people. The points to improve are the door frames which block or do not close and the toilet drainage needs to be reviewed. Otherwise it is a very pleasant and quiet place. The owners are very discreet, we only saw Vasco, very friendly, who allowed us to leave a little later to be able to shower before taking the plane again because the studio was not taken over straight away..Thank you very much.

The whole accommodation is fantastic. Everything is very lovingly decorated. The hosts are very kind and helpful. The location is also perfect. We stayed there for the entire 3-week vacation and explored the island from here. Everything is easily accessible by car. The best beach in all of Guadeloupe is also 20 meters away. There are a few restaurants right on the beach as well as good bokit stands. A supermarket is also not far away. We will definitely be back!

Super friendly host and great breakfast. Lovely rooms and great atmosphere. We extended our stay by an extra night and would have stayed even longer if we could! Both Sunrise walks and sunset walks are amazing.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for only two days, and wish we had stayed longer! Its a new hotel, and it shows. The rooms are pristine and spacious, the kitchen is fully equipped, and the bathrooms are clean and modern. And the personable staff (Vasco is the best!) and small size is oh-so charming. La Perle, the beach that is just footsteps from your room, is the nicest in Deshaies (much nicer and much less crowded than Grand Anse), and sprinkled with a few wonderful restaurants. There is a food truck that parks on the corner where the hotel road meets the highway--try it out for the best bokits and cheap beer!

Rose de vents offers everything you could wish for on a 'great away from it all' visit to Guadeloupe. The accommodation is an eclectic mix inspired by things washed up on the beach (which is less than a minute's walk away). Situated on Plage de la Perle, around 3 miles from the centre of Deshaies, the beach is famous as the home of the Inspector from the Death in Paradise TV series. The beach is not always suitable for swimming, especially for small children or weak swimmers. There is no lifeguard and the surf/waves can be quite large and strong. The rooms are comfortable and equipped with all you could need - refrigerator, microwave, cooking utensils, etc - and the linens are changed every 4 days or so. Breakfast (at additional cost) is available. The owners, Vasco (who's speaks excellent English) and Sofia are wonderful hosts and can give advice on where to visit, etc. We did have a small problem with our booking but Vasco sorted it quickly. Nearby there are some restaurants on the beach for daytime drinks and lunch (some will be reviewed elsewhere) and it is close to Pam's Pizza, Red Pepper bar (open some evenings for tapas/burgers as well as excellent cocktails) and a Botik truck. That said, there are other places within a short drive. You will need a car (car parking is a problem during the day as the beach can be very busy but if you leave the car across the main road where there is lots of space, you can return it to the lane opposite Rose de vents in the evenings when the beach lovers depart) and the drive is around 40 - 60 minutes from Pointe a Pitre airport. The nearest supermarket is around a 10 minute drive although you can get essentials in Deshaies including fresh artisan bread. Recommended for a romantic or family getaway.

We just spent 4 days here and it was an great base for discovering Base-Terre. The owner Vasco is very helpful and nice. He helped book a taxi to wait for us at the airport to go to the ferry which was 100% successful. We stayed in a spacious studio with a very large bathroom, bar fridge, small cook-top, coffee maker, microwave and all the utensils. The bed was comfortable, shower powerful, AC worked great. You do need to supply all your own toiletries, besides TP. The location is superb with a 1 min walk to the beach. There are a few places to eat on the beach and 2 on the street half a block away which are open at night. You really need a rental car to travel Guadeloupe. The problem however is that everyone coming to the beach parks on the same road and they seem to be too lazy to park farther away and jam in where ever they can. That's pretty much every beach in Guadeloupe. In-fact a nearby beach Grand Anse is the biggest parking nightmare I've seen in my life. If you don't have 100% insurance I'd park away from the madness. That being said get the smallest car possible. As other reviewers said you get no real view from the patio, The Wifi signal is a certain radius and doesn't cover most of the room, however I used some ingenuity and shifted our bed over 2 feet so we could get the signal and watch Netflix at night . The roosters are a major downfall, You will be woken up constantly by them as they will yell at midnight, 2am, 3am, 4am. Otherwise it was a great place. We would return again!

Hello D & J Holden,
We would like to thank you for your contact.
Hairdryers are available on demand, please ask for one in check in.
Should you have any further questions feel free to contact us.
Best regards,
Vasco et Sofia
We did not experience this when we stayed there in April 2016. Being so close to the beach, I sometimes showered twice a day and never had any issues with water (hot or cold).
Hello,
We do have a bus stop very close to our accommodations, but as Oegle told you buses are quite irregular. But most important is your time of arrival to the harbor, if you arrive early you can aim for the bus, if you arrive after 16h00 itmight be dificult.
Car is definitly a very good choice to visit guadeloupe, although i doubt that you can get prices like 20€ / day in the harbor, those you can get them by booiking it in advance thruogh internet. If you rent a car through internet make shore that the company that you are using have an office at "Bergevin or Gare Maritime" that's the harbor where you'll arrive, and eventually at the airport if you want to leave the car there in the end.
Either you come by bus or by car, we're on google maps, Rose des Vents at Plage de La Perle (beach of la Perle), so easy to find.
Should you have further questions feel free to contact us.
Kind regards,
Vasco
