What a wonderful surprise to come across this great lodge in this fantastic location. Taffy and Leonie were THE perfect hosts, went out of their way to make sure every one of their guests got a tailor-made stay. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our stay. The chalet was clean, comfortable, the outdoor shower beautifully done, the food absolutely excellent... More

Such a nice lodge on the lake. Very friendly staff, filling food, a gracious and chatty host and a warm atmosphere. Been here a number of times with the family and always feel welcome. Sundowners on the boat are not to be missed!

We have just returned from 4 nights in Malawi staying with Taffy at Norman Carr Cottages as well as one night at Taffy's Chikulu Lodge which was also amazing. From the service to the rooms to the food it was amazing. I couldnt recommend this place more. The rooms are large with king sized comfortable beds surrounded by mosquito nets,... More

This is the sort of place you never want to leave. The routine is: 1. Have a full English breakfast on the veranda overlooking the lake. 2. Go out on the old motor launch mid-morning for snorkelling (lots of brightly coloured fish to see) and viewing fish eagles (if they are around). 3. Have fabulous lunch on the veranda. 4.... More

Norman Carr Cottage is a truly lovely place to spend some time on the Lake. The Chalets are tastefully decorated with much local charm but also very functional and comfortable. Ours was right on the lake--we could just step out onto the beach. Amenities are everything you need and the snorkeling/fish eagle watching tours in the AM and sundowner sunset... More

We stayed at Norman Carr for 11 days and will recommend them for the most enjoyable, welcoming and comfortable holiday destination. Taffy and his staff were the best hosts and created a real family and homely atmostphere. The food were tasty, the staff very friendly and assisting. Thank you for the wonderful time we spend there.

Do you want the ideal place to do nothing, then this is it. Or you could water ski, snorkel, canoe or cruise the lake and feed the fish eagles or take a sundowner cruise and watch the African sun fall from the skies as you sip wine. You can also wander the Malawian village behind the lodge either alone or... More

Superb place. Real family atmosphere. So peaceful. The history literally oozes out of the place, only enhanced by tasteful modernisation. Cuisine exceeds its already excellent reputation. Spacious private rooms, and fantastic open air garden showers.
