Detailed Reviews
We stayed in 204 Mistle Cove, owned by Steve Gooch and had a brilliant 2 week trip. The apartment itself was spacious with 2 large double bedrooms with air con, 2 bathrooms and an open plan living room/kitchen/diner. We chose to eat breakfast but made the most of the sea view and ate on the rear terrace!
On arrival we were greeted with a welcome pack containing essentials such as tea, coffee, rum cake...and Banks beer! It was a nice touch.
Convenient local shop next door, loads of great restaurants and bars on the doorstep, this is the best location to stay on the island. Forget sandy lane as you have to drive from there to go anywhere...if you are looking for a slightly more built up area where if you want, you can chill on the beach for a week but still have all amenities on the doorstep, St Lawrence Gap is perfect. We hired a car for a week and there is plenty to see on this beautiful island. Locals are super friendly, swam with turtles everyday - what an experience!

Second visit to this apartment, came in Feb 2019 originally. Nothing changed, absolutely perfect in every way.
The apartment in my view has the best position in the Condo, ground floor with views straight into the beach, never tired of sitting out on patio watching the waves and turtles. The owner Nigel is great to deal with, booking process very easy. We were there from 14th March when the Covid 19 was starting to take effect on the island and Nigel's representative Stacey was brilliant in keeping us informed regarding restrictions put in place by the Barbados Government. I can honestly say I felt a lot safer than when we returned to the UK. We weren't sure when our return flight would be as our original one was cancelled, we contacted Stacey and Nigel and felt completely at ease with the situation if we had to overstay our leaving date. As it transpired we left a day early.
I don't need to go into great detail to say how good this apartment is other than to say it's the best place we've ever stopped in over many years of holidaying in many countries.

Newly renovated condo in St Lawrence Gap. Stayed during Covid
Was the best ever. Spacious and top notch spot. Just the two of us but we had a great stay.
Close to restaurants and enjoyed views on both large balconies sea side and gap side for being part of the Xmas scene.

+1
We stayed at Mistle Cove Condos Unit #205 (which is a 2 bdrm, 2 bath unit) Jan 20-27, 2007. The condo was beautiful, clean and bigger than we anticipated. The master bedroom had a king size bed with a huge bay window that overlooked the ocean and a sliding glass door onto the large balcony. The master bath was very large, with a huge raised soaking tub, sep. shower and 1 sink and toilet. The 2nd bedroom was at the front of the unit and was furnished w/2 twin beds. It had its own generous bath with shower (no tub).
The unit also had a stacked washer/dryer and a well-stocked kitchen (plates, cups, utensils, coffe maker, etc). Fridge was full-sized and there was a small convenient store right next door. The big market was a 20 minute walk and had a shuttle that would return you to the front of the condo when you finished shopping (as part of a regular route).
Their beach was very small, but usable for our 2-yr old to play in the sand--no safe swimming for kids. The pool was also small, but we were the only ones in it at any time during the week.
We walked to all restaurants for dinner; there are about 10 within a 10 minute walk. The big beach was also a 10 minute walk, with beach umbrellas and chaises for rent, a bathroom and snack bars. Perfect water and beautiful sand!!
All in all, a wonderful family (or couples) place to stay!! We'd love to be able to buy a unit here! We'll be back! The only thing we would change would be to arrange our own transportation to and from the airport. We couldn't find the guy who was sent to pick us up on arrival and ended up having to get our own taxi. The guy the condo office got to take us back charged us double what he's allowed to charge when he dropped us off at the airport. I emailed the condo when we returned to let them know. They responded that they would no longer use him or his company and that they had turned him in to authorities (Barbados gov't sets taxi rates).

This was my first trip to Barbados but will not be my last.
We were a group of 6 staying at Mistle Cove in the heart of St. Lawrence Gap. We spent 10 days, the first week in a couple of 2 bedroom units #102 & 309, then for the last 3 days moved to one of the 2 penthouses on the 5th floor.
2 bdrm units beautifully appointed, huge balconies with spectacular sea views. There was a bit of an issue with hot water in the 1st floor unit, luckily we had 2 units and could use the shower in the 3rd floor unit.
Penthouse was huge and accommodated the 6 of us with space to spare. Of course an even more spectacular view from the 5th floor.
Countless restaurants/bars on your doorstep, but no issues with noise!
Street/beach vendors not pushy at all, a polite no thanks will do if not interested.
Toured the island for 4 hours one day with a hired taxi for all 6 of us....$70 BDS each.
Oistins fish fry on Fri/Sat nights at sunset, great food, cheap and alot of fun!
Food vendors every night in the Gap, again cheap and tasty....mmmm.

Had a fantastic stay in Barbados at Mistle Cove (Unit 206) - the apartment was very large and had a fully functional kitchen and every home comfort you could think of including a DVD library!
Two big en suite bedrooms (one King, one Twin) and the views from the balcony were stunning. Although we went during quiet season there was still some noise from the main street but we could not hear this when in the apartment. Jenny the apartment manager was so helpful with our car hire, trips, etc.
Highly recommend a stay here, very clean, great location and it was nice to be self catering and have breakfast on the balcony every morning and drinks at night (remember insect spray though, they were lethal!)
Recommend Restaurant at South Sea, Jumbies, Pisces and McBrides for dinner/drinks and go to Crane Beach Hotel for lunch - the view is outstanding.

In January I booked my trip (12 nights in November) in the penthouse at Mistle Cove through Jennie. She was quite pleasant to deal with and I paid the required deposit of $900.
Very early in March, we discovered that we would be unable to keep our plans and gave notice of cancellation. I understood that I would receive a partial refund - Mistle Cove keeps 10% back for admin charges. Perfectly understandable. The other day I finally received an email from the owner (not Jennie) that my visa would be credited for only $540.00. When I questioned this I was informed that they keep 10% of the entire rental, which was $360. I believe this to be truly excessive.
I sent an email and asked them to reconsider what I thought was a very problematic policy. I believe the actual policy is quite misleading (upon booking I did interpret it incorrectly) and I notice that I am not the only guest who has had a problem with the refund policy. I was shocked when I received the reply. The answer was terse, unprofessional and very rude.
Because of the customer service (or lack thereof) I would never consider a stay at Mistle Cove. I am tempted to believe that this policy is intentionally ambiguous and this is nothing more than a money grab. Lucrative business and most unfair. I cancelled almost 9 months in advance.

We stayed here over Easter as a family of four, and loved it. Great location in the middle of St Lawrence Gap, plenty of places to eat and drink, and close to any number of absolutely stunning beaches. Dover Beach is fabulous and right next door - looked up one day there swimming in the waves with my daughter to see a turtle fin waving at us - unreal. The penthouse is very well equipped, good wifi connection, satellite TV, everything you could need with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, and a well used outdoor mini pool. The main bedroom benefits from the same stunning view of the Caribbean as the balcony - you would never tire of waking up to it. Mistle Cove has its own little beach, and while it can be rocky dead ahead and to the right, the left side is quite clear making a wade round to Dover Beach entirely possible. The tide does get much stronger in the afternoon early evening. The only thing I would mention is that the local clubs in The Gap are pretty loud pretty late and while you hear nothing but the waves from the master bedroom, the noise can be quite noticeable in the other two bedrooms.....the trick I guess is to be part of the nightlife! Jobi helped us out whenever needed and recommended an awesome day out on Cool Runnings, swimming with turtles and snorkelling on the coral reef - if you get chance this is an absolute must and with a truly funny captain and crew, all food and drink thrown in, was great value too (big thanks to Jobi for arranging it!). We really enjoyed our time here and can't wait to return

My husband and I have recently returned from two weeks at Mistle Cove and we both agree that it was the best holiday we have ever had. Our accommodation at Mistle Cove went a long way in making our holiday so enjoyable - it was absolutely lovely.
We booked apartment 101 directly with the owner via www.ownersdirect.co.uk (type ref CB8 in the search box). It is a ground floor, 2 bedroomed corner apartment. The booking process was very straightforward and I found the owner to be very helpful and accommodating. A welcome pack including bread, butter, coffee, beer, milk, coke, rum & rum cake was awaiting us, which was much appreciated.
We arrived at the apartment during the evening so it was dark - although we could hear the ocean, we couldnt actually see it. When we awoke in the morning and opened the patio...wow - the view was amazing! Mistle Cove is right on the ocean and as well as immaculately kept grounds & swimming pool, has its own small beach. It really was beautiful.
As for the apartment itself, it has now set the bar high for the standard of accommodation I expect on future holidays!. It has two large bedrooms, two large bathrooms, a well equipped kitchen and a large and airy lounge. It is tastefully furnished and was immaculately clean. The kitchen contained a large American fridge/freezer which provided us with unlimited cold water and ice, a dishwasher & a large hob/oven. Every utensil you need is provided (and more!). The utility space off the kitchen housed a large washing machine and separate tumble dryer (it was the first time I have ever gone home with a suitcase full of clean clothes!).
The apartment block itself is very secure and there were two safes provided within apartment 101 (not that we ever felt insecure - St Lawrence Gap is, in our opinion, a very safe place to stay but I appreciate that you do need to take precautions wherever you stay in the world nowadays).
Having read the previous review regarding the presence of cockroaches, I can honestly say that we didnt encounter critters of any kind in the apartment - this was simply not a problem for us. The small lizards in the gardens & crabs on the beach kept us entertained (so cute!) and I was fortunate enough to see a turtle lay its eggs on "our" beach while we were there - amazing!
As for location - Mistle Cove is situated in the middle of the Gap so we never had to walk far for anything. There is a small grocery store literally next door to the complex which came in handy. Right across from the complex is Jobu's Sports Bar & Restaurant and I am surprised that this is not recommended more frequently on Trip Advisor. The food served there is really, really good and very reasonable indeed. They have 3 "happy hours" per day which last for a couple of hours at a time....4 bottles of Banks Beer provided in an ice bucket for just over £3.00 GBP - what more can you ask for!! As for noise from the Gap - we didn't hear any!
Finally - just a thumbs up to the staff at Mistle Cove - our cleaner, the groundsman & the lady who was there to greet us and show us around were all lovely.
Apologies if this review is a bit long - I was just genuinely surprised by a couple of negative reviews that have been placed on here and wanted to give my honest opinion. I have recommended Mistle Cove to all of my family and friends and I myself would return in a heartbeat.

My partner and I stayed at Mistle Cove in the Penthouse West last year in August/September 2011 and for us literally a dream came true, it sincerely was the best holiday we ever had. We are returning again this year!
The panoramic view of the ocean is breathtaking, we could have spent the whole of our holiday on the deck just indulging in the sounds of the waves and looking out for the turtles swimming in the sea. On occasion we took a refreshing dip in our very own plunge pool on the deck, enjoying ice cold drinks and living the dream.
We were lucky enough to experience turtle eggs hatching directly on Mistle Cove’s private beach and watch how the tiny turtles hobble along into the sea…a once in a life time experience! Conterminous to the private beach is Dover Beach which is a beautiful long beach ideal for walking and water sports.
The kitchen has everything you need, a big American fridge freezer including ice dispenser, dishwasher, a big cooker etc and is very spacious. We cooked most evenings because the stunning view gave us a first class table which really was hard to beat.
But for those who prefer to go out, due to the convenient location everything one needs is close by: restaurants, the bank, shops etc and everyone is so friendly and the Bajan laid back attitude is exactly what you need when you are on holiday.
Just to say a last few words about the Penthouse directly, it is very spacious (3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a very big open plan kitchen-lounge-dining area) and clean. We cannot stress enough how stunning the view is and the large deck is pure luxury.
We are counting the days to our next stay and would, with complete confidence recommend Penthouse West Mistle Cove to anyone who wants an unforgettable holiday.

Portsmouth, United Kingdom78 contributions133 helpful votesHi there, a few years ago we viewed one of the private apartments in Mistletoe Cove as we were holidaying next door. We are looking to return to the island and would love to be in one of the apartments there, do you have a recommendation on contacting the owner or rental site to start our search, good review BTW.
Cheers,
Frank
Hi Frank,
The owner of two apartments at Mistle Cove (204 is the one we stayed in) is Steve Gooch who lives in the UK.
I can't give you his email as TripAdvisor won't allow it. If you Google "Mistle Cove" it will reveal a couple of sites where you can contact the various owners and enquire about availability.
Regards and good luck,
Steve Armitage
Yes you can hear occasional late-night street noises from the Gap in the front bedroom, however in the master bedroom, you can only hear the sound of relaxing waves washing ashore.
