We stayed at the Pasada Rio Celeste La Amistad our first two nights in Costa Rica. Since we drove up from the San Jose airport in Alajuela and stopped at the Vulcàn Poas, it was already dark when we were looking for it. We used the app maps.me to navigate, which I would recommend to anyone renting a car since...

Family-run, friendly farm property with basic rooms and good food. My room was the least expensive available and it was spotlessly clean with hot water shower and extremely comfy bed. The family will point you towards the glorious hike down to the Rio Celeste swimming hole (you can't swim in the part of the river that runs through the Tenorio...

...But that's about it. Super friendly people but potential language barrier if you don't speak Spanish. Booked online for 2 nights not realizing that the park only requires 3 hours out of your day with very limited activities to do after 3:30pm within drivable distance. I ended up booking a horseback tour through La Amistad ($30) also not realizing that...

Great place to stay. We loved it. Its out in the middle of nowhere, but a few minutes away from the Rio Celeste. The breakfast was delicious and the staff was amazing. We wanted to do an ATV tour and the hotel arranged for us to go. The hotel was great.

Posada Rio Celeste, La Amistad, gave us the best experience in this family run accommodation and restaurant in all of Costa Rica. The impeccably clean cabin was cozy and welcoming, the home cooked meals mouthwatering delicious and rich. We saw more birds in a short time at their place than anywhere else. This family showed incredible hospitality and made our...

This was by far the most expensive hotel I have stayed in 200$ for 2 nights on my trip to Costa Rica. 45$ for a taxi because it is way up on the mountain that no one would want to go and no busses. Nothing to do besides go to waterfall, so my recommendation would be to make a day...

We had a very good stay in this family place, the food was great and the rooms are simple but very clean and private, the internet is very good and free, we really enjoyed, Unfortunately we didn't not have any more time to add one more night.

Close to the National Park which was a beautiful hike including a waterfall and two rivers which meet and the water changes colour. The room was very clean and comfortable but no air conditioning. Meals were good.

The cabin we stayed in was very nice, clean and spacious. The hotel is far away from everything and when you're driving up the rocky and bumpy road it seems as if you're leaving civilization behind. This makes that the hotel is really calm, quiet and peaceful. The owners are very nice people. They have a restaurant at the hotel...
