My wife and I stayed at this hotel for one night and also eat in the restaurant. The hotel is a lovely, clean and welcoming place. The staff were most welcoming and we were well looked after. The restaurant was excellent. The food was 5 star standard. Everything was cooked perfect and just as we requested. We enjoyed it that...

My husband andI spent a night here recently, a birthday treat from our daughters, our 2nd visit and we were not disappointed. We had a beautiful superior room at the back which was most comfortable. The staff are delightful and our waiter at dinner was most friendly and helpful. The menu for both dinner and breakfast offers plenty of choice....

Had a fantastic time for a major family birthday. The private room was a great place for our celebration and the food was amazing. Rooms are lovely, large, bright and very clean. Staff were friendly with great service. Loved it, can't wait to go back.

Fantastic four course menu, all cooked to perfection. Warm, friendly atmosphere with attentive staff that couldn't do enough for us. Accommodating chef who cooked two 'off menu' dishes for the two children in our party. We were staying locally as part of a New Year getaway for the family that originate from the essex/Suffolk borders and we can honestly say...

Wonderful place to be for Christmas. The best hotel we have been in Scotland. Very nice staff and delicious food. If we go back in this area, we certainly will come back. We received a warm and friendy welcome. There was a basket of flowers as a present for Christmas. We upgraded our room for a small extra for a...

My husband, myself and our pooch Frank were lucky enough to find this gem and have just spent a wonderful four-day Christmas break staying in their nearby Myrtle Cottage. We arrived far too early on Christmas Eve having driven through the night and they kindly rustled up breakfast for us even though breakfast had finished. We then were allowed into...

We arrived just after 1.pm on Christmas Eve. We were met by one of the managing staff, Alan. He welcomed us to the Hotel, provided us with a programme of events and entertainment and showed us to our room. Our double room was on the top floor, was comfortable with an en suite bathroom. There was also a basket arrangement...

We had a two night break here over the weekend, and found it to be just short of excellent. The good points: the bar and restaurant area are very cosy and welcoming and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful with being intrusive. We had a DB&B rate and our meals on both nights were excellent as was the service....

My boyfriend and I have just returned home from our stay at the Wheatsheaf. We bought an Itison deal for dinner with prosecco, bed and breakfast for the bargain price of £69. We also upgraded our room for an extra £20 for an executive king room. We received an extremely warm and friendly welcome, and the room features were thoroughly...
