This hotel is an absolute jewel. It's the former mansion of an aristocratic family turned into a small hotel with a lot of old world charm. Most of all, I would venture to say that all rooms are slightly different in size and decoration. For this reason it may behoove you to inquire about the type of room first before...

The hotel is located in bever about 10 min away from st moritz. Service ok, staff friendly. The hotel has an external parking and also a private garage. The breakfast is easy but with a good choice and an accurate service. Rooms are also ok with tv and good fornitures. Bever is a very quite place so I would recommend...

We stayed at Chesa Salis for the Christmas break and enjoyed a great room with veranda, opening to a lovely view of the Alps. No complaints at all about the room.. The hotel is nicely kept up, a nice blend of old and new. The restaurant is cozy and food absolutely delish. The breakfast buffet could be a bit more...

Late October and beautiful autumn colours in Engadine. The room was nice and the bed very comfortable. We enjoyed a good dinner in the hotel restaurant. The town of Bever is interesting with nicely restored very old houses.

My husband, two kids (11 and 12) and I just spent several days here and loved it. It is a beautiful, romantic old building with a pretty garden (for lounging or eating) located in the small town of Bever. Breakfast is included and is plentiful and delicious (we liked the soft boiled eggs in particular.) We also ate dinner here...

Charming 17th building - on the outside, dated on the inside, especially 1960's bathroom. Part of Swiss Historic Hotel group. Major road construction work just around the corner causing entire building to vibrate - not seen upon arrival. Unacceptable even with windows closed. Source from just around the corner. Manager issued no warning. 247CH price for the night. Busy road...

Great hotel, location, owners, service and food. We attended a family reunion here and booked most of the hotel for a few nights. All rooms are basic but nice and clean. Building is old so if you have noisy neighbors you may hear some of it but overall pretty quiet. We had one of the family rooms (think jr. suite)...

The hotel is actually a B&B in a very old beautiful building. The owners are super nice and friendly. They had awesome breakfast and dinner. We were so impressed with the attention to detail. They had chicken shaped cozies for the hard boiled eggs. Get the room with the glass covered porch and a view of the garden.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Let`s dip into the past! We are located in Bever, a village where time seems to have stopped a hundred years ago. The Chesa Salis is an insider tip. It is part of a row of historic houses in the quiet eastern part of Bever, away from the bypass, almost invisible and that is how it should remain. Dating back to 1590, this intimate hotel harmonises character and style with modern comfort, winning “Historic Hotel of the Year” in 2015. The restaurant has a fine reputation with menus that pay particular attention to creative delicacies and regional specialities. We are away from the village, we don't have a swimming-pool, so we spoil our guests with good food and many smiles. The carved front door remains, matched by an elaborate wrought-iron gate. Off to one side is a small room for private parties that is 'like a doll's house, completely wood-panelled, with book-shelves, an escritoire and tiny windows'. The noble heritage of the building is witnessed today by its meter-thick walls, handsome craftsmanship, beautiful wood panelling, outstanding paintings, handsome beamed ceilings, intricate plaster etching on the exterior walls, frescoed ceilings, and colourful ceramic fireplaces. When you enter the reception area, there is an eclectic mix of old and new with handsome antiques blending with black leather sofas, and a contemporary glass counter highlighted by a modern painting. In contrast, most of the furnishings are definitely traditional in style. All of the guestrooms are lovely. Room 26 is a particularly spacious, beautiful room with large windows looking out to the garden. The most stunning room of all, #35, is tucked up under the eaves. Its white-washed panelled walls and low ceiling are exquisitely painted with antique, floral designs - like a music box. So let`s dip into the past! ... more   less
