Perfection. What a great stay and a superb restaurant. A very warm welcome waited for us at La Bastide with Karin and Alwin and what a welcome. We were spoiled. The food prepared by Alwin was super delicious and the attention we got from Sara was delightful. We will definitely be back!! Highly highly recommended.

One of the better lunches we had in the Dordogne. Husband and wife team deliver a sophisticated yet friendly experience. Food was well plated and tasted great. Despite arriving a few minutes before the end of lunch hours, we were welcomed and nit rushed at all.

Run by dutch couple this hotel is so comfortable, stylish and proper. Everything is such a good quality: rooms, bathrooms and restaurant. So quiet at night. Food is nouvelle cuisine. Very enjoyable time.

Not wowed at all by this place. We arrived as a family and were greeted by a charmless woman who lacked warmth. Her husband/partner was equally cold. Not sure if they really welcomed or tolerated families with very young children for an evening meal - but hey,,parents still want to enjoy god food and educate their kids at the same time. The food was ok, good quality pub food. Not high spec fine dining - far from it. I had the steak which was just plain, rubbery and tasteless. Choosing good cuts, and cooking a steak to perfection is not difficult. I was proved wrong. The vegetables were dull to look at and bland. The owners were not natural hosts. On the up side, the waitress who served us was lovely.

We called in to this wonderful hotel with the hope they could provide 14 hungry motorcyclists with a meal, - They did not disappoint! Although it was getting on for 2:00 in the afternoon and the kitchen was closing, we were told as long as we were prepared to wait a little while they could provide for us. After choosing from the menu, then supplied with iced water on a very hot day, we received some wonderful food,
Steak, salad, fish, even our veggie mate was catered for with a very nice mushroom dish,
The proprietors were a very nice Dutch couple, with excellent English (much better than our French) so communication was no problem, I cannot praise them enough,

Stayed here for three nights, the room was nice and the bed comfortable. We dined in the on site restaurant, and were not disappointed. The staff were pleasant and helpful and spoke excellent English, (I believe that they are a Dutch).
We used this as a base for a business trip, the surrounding area is fantastic with some great places to visit.

Three of us were in need of rooms, and we were happily accommodated. Clean, updated and spacious. Dinner was a really wonderful experience. It was hot, so we ate on the terrace. Amuse bouchée was lovely and inventive. Starter of seared scallops and prawns, enough for a plat were cooked perfectly and served with a mixed salad. The half lobster, with smoked salmon, and chilled prawns and a shredded salad was perfect on a warm night. Will certainly be back, we have a home not too far. Owners are charming, friendly.

We dropped in for lunch by chance and wow what a find. The food is first class, reasonably priced and served in the ultimate professional manner.
The hotel is immaculate and we believe the rooms would be in a similar condition.
Very friendly and helpful owners.

Stayed there for 3 nights while exploring the area, and had very good experience. Our room was small and simple but clean and cosy, comfy bed, all we wanted. Restaurant certainly worth a visit, even if you are staying somwere else. Excellent food, good choice, certainly would recommend.

Comfortable quiet well-maintained modern bedroom; generous continental breakfast with homemade preserves. Delicious dinner of fresh ingredients, unusual and subtle combinations of flavours. Well-chosen interesting wines, mostly from 'vignerons independents' including organic wines at moderate prices. A real find for the area - which I know very well.
