i recently got married in sicily and suggested this hotel for my friends from london after checking on trip advisor. when we got there the check in took way too long... the staff were great, very friendly. the room looked ok until it was time for bed. The a.c and hot water did not work and the shower was very old and very small not something u would expect to find in a hotel. visited the front desk to get the problem fixed.. but no one came.

Dear Esther Thanks for your feedback! As you may recollect, your husband-to-be only booked the room 2 days before your arrival when the hotel was full and he was offered a heaviliy discounted rate because the only room left was still in maintenance...he insisted on booking that room anyway as you needed somewhere to stay for the night! I am sorry that you could not stay with us for a longer period, we would have definitely had more time to fix the problem and transfer you to another room :-) The room where you stayed has now been fixed, A/C fully working and hot air is back on again, even if with this current weather (33C today) there is not much need of hot water! Please do come and see us again when you will be coming to Sicily next (as I understand that your husband's family is from near this area) and I will make sure that we will offer you a free upgrade to a Premium room to apologise for the inconvenience. Good and bad but leaning more to the bad. I will start with the good. There is plenty to do for those wishing to do things. I think it is more suited to couples and families. Keiron and Brendan are English and go out their way to help you. They have 3 pools to use have a children's area and have a team of people to entertain. Its right on the beach and has sunbeds and Life guards a small beach bar selling hot and cold drinks ice creams ect. There is an open air theatre and a area to relax with a hot tub. Foot ball pitch and tennis court. There is also a pool bar and another bar area. That is the good part. Now to the bad. I will say if they took the trouble to sort out the things I am going to mention next it could be a lovely place but a remote one. So that's the first thing its very remote nothing else there and you really need to hire a car.Its not the easiest place to find even with sat nav. Its not a hotel its a village a bit like a holiday camp. There are parts of the site that belong to Italian's as homes or holiday homes then other bits some nice some not that good.We chose to be picked up arranged by them it cost 30 euros each so 60 euros each there and back. On arrival at the Airport we couldn't find anyone, looked out side after awhile I was getting paper work out to ring them,when someone asked if I was mrs white I said yes and was told to follow this Italian and a little boy he had with him,He couldn't speak English and we went to resort in his car with a child who fell asleep. We were greeted and taken to our room. on arrival in our room there was some cold meat and salad with rolls as we missed dinner not very nice. We had to put money on a card they use, as they do not take cash anywhere. you have to keep track of how much is left on it as they don't tell you. you are warned if anything is left at the end you wont get it back.Most of the staff do not understand English its hard to communicate.We asked to be moved as we were right on top of children's club and all the entertainment. Loud music was blaring at midnight when we arrived. I asked how long it went on for and was told 2 am sometimes later. He also told me The kids would run in and out slam doors run up and down the corridor. I am older and have walking problems and said this was not suitable, He said he would move us in the morning to a quieter area he did do this but as they were pretty full we had to have a worse room. it was a choice of that or the noise. We decided to have the room for the peace, I didn't pay a lot so couldn't expect too much. food was ok in evening poor in morning just cereal rolls jam couissants to get a normal coffee is asking for the earth no one understands you. My husband was told to go else where to get it by the head waiter. we complained and he sorted himself out.we were given a free lunch.The pools were closed first day as they were maintaining them. it took an afternoon to find a remote for the air conditioning by about 4 people. Everything was in Italian, notices the information pack that we didn't have. The room was cleaned regular we had no hangers asked never got them should have had bottle of pressco asked didn't get it.Place was infested with ants and I was bitten by mossies big gap under door. when you sat on toilet your feet were in the shower. electrics in bathroom plugs hanging from walls, room did have fridge air conditioning and a tv. but needed a total revamp.I went to have shower in the tiniest of showers pulled the bathroom door shut which was on a slide I heard a click took no notice but when I tried to get out I couldn't door was jammed shut. my husband tried had and no luck had to go to reception they didn't understand at first but after ringing for second time got someone to come. He had to un jam the door with screw driver and take plate off as door had gone into locked position. There was no key to unlock it and I was frantic stuck in a small hot place. It took 35 mins to get me out. I had to put two towels around me as in the nude very embarrassed and one Italian was smirking. Nothing said, no apology.We never got to go in the relax bar as it was never open told it opened 5-8 but never was.Felt everything was expensive there drinks ect asked for cocktail didn't know what to do, If you used there driver service it cost the earth and charged on a one to one basis. If you have booked through wowcher beware of the other charges for the entertainment, 5 euros per person per night. We didn't watch anything as heard from others it was in Italian anyway.It could be a nice place but there is lots needs to be addressed.I wouldn't go back there too remote and needs too much doing to it. Needs the staff to understand the English more.

We chose Milu for mini Easter break weekend in Sicily - it's a great base to explore Western Sicily with quite a few interesting attractions not far from the hotel. We booked an excursion to see the stagnone lagoon, salt marshes and Mothia islans - highly recommend. The hotel itself was nice - no Hilton but a very good three star resort. Its right on the beach with spectacular views over a nearby lighthouse. the swimming pool area is lovely as well. The place was quiet and relaxing despite there being a few families with young children staying it didn't feel crowded or noisy. The poolside decking area was fantastic - had a lovely breakfast there in the morning. Good experience overall and value for money, would return again.

Air conditioning - Didn't work.
Had to pay a huge fee when arriving with was never before specified. Shouldn't that have been included when I booked? Big disappointment off the bat.
1 restaurant was open only 2 days we were there, where were the other 2? Also only sold sea food plus two plain meals. If you're allergic, you're screwed.
Supermarket? sold nothing. only meat was sea food.
No taxis in the area. They had 1 person who could take you to lidl but it had to be when they were free.
Supposedly multi lingual. One person was able to communicate with us but barely.
WiFi doesn't actually work. You will be on 4G the entire time.
Air conditioning stopped working after the first day.
Door wouldn't open to the villa when they took us to it. Basically remade the door in front of us while we waited. Ridiculous.
No entertainment besides some kids dancing for people.
No swin up bar. No diving. No windsurfing. no surfing. Nothing was available to us.
The pool was constantly dirty.
Says they supply you with toiletries. You get one bar of soap which is tiny, and one shower gel which wouldn't last one shower.
No cleaning supplies in the villa. No sponges or washing up liquid. Had to buy but if you cant get to the shops you're screwed.
Fridge was warm. Could not make it any colder.

On paper, this place looks amazing, especially since we found it on Wowcher for only £49/pp for 7 nights. So we booked to stay from Sunday 2nd November, until the morning of Sunday 9th.

However, I have to review and rate it based upon my experience - which is that they basically moth-balled the site before we arrived, so nothing was working/open.

We had decided in advance to hire a car. We didn't really need one, as we had no intention of travelling around. And the site seemed to be self-contained. However, it worked out cheaper to hire one, than to take the transfer option. This one decision was what saved our holiday.

Turning up after midnight on Sunday the site was in darkness, there was only a handful of cars in the car-park - we thought nothing of this.

In the morning we went to the pool-room for breakfast. We were met by another couple that said, "Oh, are we in here now?". Apparently, previous breakfasts had been in the restaurant. From what the other couple was saying, the breakfast was also now scaled back somewhat - cornflakes, croissants, melba toast, jams/honey, juice and coffee. Not all would be available each morning for the other 6 breakfasts of our visit.

The site was very sparse, the restaurant had been shut for the Winter, with the tables and chairs all stacked up. So, there went our hope of having dinner on-site a couple of times, so that my partner could take a break from the driving each day. There was no other food provisions on-site, so we would have to venture out each day to the nearest shop (15Kms) for provisions. At least we had a fridge in our room, although it wasn't great at maintaining temperatures.

The room we were allocated on arrival was in their 'Hotel' - look closely at the tiles and you'll actually see it spells 'HQTEL', I guess they couldn't find an 'O', so decided to chip the tail off of a 'Q'. As there were so few guests we were all staying in there, all on the same floor. I guess this favoured the staff, as this gave them less work to do.

The bathroom had the smallest shower I've ever used. It required a certain level of contortion and pre-planning to be able to wash sufficiently. It was impossible to wash your legs unless you turned off the water and opened the door first!

The bedroom was adequate. And whilst the bed was a good size, it was far from comfortable. My partners side faired better. However, my side was like sleeping on a bag of nails. The television was more than adequate, until the management decided to save electricity by turning off the power to reception - this appeared to knock out the TV ariel and the Internet access points that provided coverage to our rooms. So, now no TV and no Internet! Thankfully, I had thought to bring some films/etc on a USB stick, which I was able to plug in to the TV and play. It would be over 24hrs before this was restored.

Had we realised that the pool was no longer being maintained, we would have made use of it at the start of our holiday. By the end of our stay the sun-loungers were all stored away. The surface of the pool would become a fog of insects.

There was no on-site entertainment. I've seen the wonderful pictures/reviews that others have left. But, the only entertainment we had, we provided ourselves.

The saving grace was the beach. Whilst unkempt and strewn with rubbish washed in by the waves, it was deserted and was basically ours. The best day of our holiday was Saturday, where we decided to go to Lidl early, get provisions, then go sit down by the beach.

Our experience could have been turned around if the staff had just done three things:-
1. Warn us prior to arrival that due to low visitor levels that week, the resources on-site would be pared back. Therefore, it would be strongly recommended to hire a car.
2. On arrival upgrade us (and the other poor sods staying) to self-contained apartments. I know they had them and they were available, as you could see the staff coming out of them each day. At least then we would have had the ability to cook hot foot for ourselves, instead of having to resort to ciabatta's and meat/cheese each day.
3. Given the lack of on-site food/drink, give the guests a list/map of all the local restaurants and bars still open.

Just doing those 3 things would have turned my 7 day's in a Fawlty Towers like resort into 7 days in paradise.
I will be back to Sicily. But, I won't be back to Milu. And I recommend strongly that if you decide to visit, you make sure you avoid the start and end of the season.

We bought our accommodation stay online via a spectacular deal, we had a look at the website and other reviews and thought this is too good to be true - there had to be a catch? There was. And what a huge catch. We were supposed to have a garden suite but were housed in a very basic hotel room, although the staff were happy enough to stay in the garden suites! The bathroom was grotty and there was only a tiny little fridge that barely kept anything cold. The resort only had 8 guests staying there, so they put us all along one corridor and took the decision to shut everything else down. And I mean everything. The restaurant was closed and apart from the included breakfast, no food was available, which is NOT as was advertised. There was no entertainment, NOT as advertised, each morning there was a VERY basic breakfast, and each morning at least one item of breakfast wasn't available. When I asked for some toast, I was told "no, finished". The pool wasn't cleaned, filtered or drained. What should have been a pleasant shade of blue quickly became a green/brown mulch, which therein became a breeding ground for mosquitoes. The staff who were on site were only interested in looking at their mobile phones, and the manager Louise was rarely available. Every day that we were there something went wrong or was shut down. About 3 days into our break they shut down the wi-fi and tv for the accommodation block for the 8 guests!! It was only after 3 separate requests that they turned this back on. The bed was lumpy and the air conditioning smelled of burnt fluff when switched on, even on its coolest setting! Which was usually hot air.

The advertised facilities were all closed, and the nearest restaurants were at least 25mins drive away. The end result was a daily 15km drive to the nearest Lidl to buy bread, ham and cheese. It was pointless shopping for more than one day as the fridge wasn't big enough or cold enough to put anything in.

We were not told beforehand that this would be the case, or even upon check in. The only food available at breakfast was so limited that the guests started bringing their own cereals, bread and meats down to the breakfast area, which they had purchased at the supermarket. Several comparisons to Fawlty Towers were made by many guests, but I'm sure a stay at Fawlty Towers would've been much nicer!

There was plenty of self catering accommodation on site (it was good enough for the staff!!) so if they decided to shut the restaurant they surely should have given us cooking facilities? We had to ask twice for a kettle, and 3 times for mugs!

Throughout the duration of the holiday, and also on checking out, no effort was made to ask if everything was ok or if there was anything that we needed. Initially I had thought that the availability of resort facilities was perhaps proportional to the price paid for our holiday. However, reading through other reviews on this website we can see that other people had purchased the same deal that we had, at the same price, and had had the full Milu Beach Resort experience.

It's such a pity that this resort decided to stay open with such minimal effort or interest. Judging by the other reviews from people who stayed at peak season it must be a fabulous place to visit. Unfortunately we had a terrible experience, and there's no way I can bring myself to rate this property anything other than 1 out of 5.

This was my second stay at the resort having already spent a long weekend there last year. The change since last year is to say the least, dramatic. The entire place has been completely overhauled! The centre-piece of the resort was and is the gorgeous swimming pool but now add to that refurbished, modern rooms, a fully functioning night club, re-surfaced tennis courts and even an amphitheatre! You can do as little or as much as you want! Great, well presented, friendly staff, this place is moving from strength to strength. It was a memorable stay and I can only say that I am looking forward to the next...

we booked this hotel through wowcher,very cheap , for b&b for a week for two people, we were told they had a restaurant on site this was in the information on line. when we arrived there were six of us, we eventually arrived about 10.30pm sat 15th nov 2014. they took us to the reception now moved to the lounge bar!!! booked us in and suggested we have a drink at the bar, so ok my husband asked for a beer, sorry dont have any until tomorrow, ok how about a white win, sorry dont have any untill tomorrow, what about a lemonade(you have probably guessed the answer by now?) sorry dont have any until tomorrow, it transpires that OWNERS had decided to close restaurant two weeks before, surly a simply email to those coming would not have been too difficult?we were offered a lift in there mini bus on sunday to go to lidls and buy what food we wanted, which we all did, then we were allowed to cook it in their microwave and oven, no hot plate or grill available, we muddled through all week, trying to keep each others spirits up, when we got the bill at end of week, they had the cheek to charge us for taking us to lidls!!DEFINITLY NOT TO BE RECOMMENDED.the area was ok but very run down and remote.worst thing was the very, very green swimming pool,the excuse was it had rained heavy for the previous two days, i might be green looking but NOT that GREEN!!!

My girlfriend and I booked this resort via the wowcher deal and didn’t really know what to expect. The reviews were very good but for £99 for 7 nights I think its understandable that we would be quite cautious. Upon arrival at the airport we were greeted by the driver and he took us to the resort. After an hour drive we saw signs for Milu Beach Club, I have to be honest, every time we passed a building I was hoping we would continue driving as it all looked very run down. Finally we pulled into a car park which I can only describe as the hotel from the inbetweeners first movie. From the outside the place looked very run down and nothing surrounding it.

We arrived at reception and greeted by Louise, who I have to say lived up to her expectation from the previous reviews. The room wasn’t ready so we were given a guided tour of the resort, which definitely shouldn’t be judged from the way it looks as you first drive in as it is nice once you go in. When our room was finally ready it wasn’t what we expected. Ground floor, no sheets on the bed and spiders everywhere. With no hassle whatsoever were moved to a third floor room which was much cleaner and generally nicer. The wowcher deal did however state that we would have a bottle of preseco and fresh fruit and these never arrived even after asking a number of times throughout our stay and promised every single time it would come. The beds however were extremely uncomfortable and very creaky, any movement in your sleep would wake us up.

The pool was big with a bar next to it. Although the pool was quite dirty at stages with dead flies and leafs in there it did get cleaned at times throughout our stay and when cleaned was lovely. The beach was absolutely beautiful, clear blue sea and shared with our resort and the resort next to us, very relaxing and nice indeed.

When seeing previous reviews about the food I thought we were in for a treat, but this wasn’t the case. I suppose it is all about opinion and what you like and don’t like. The menu was based on 4 courses, a starter, a pasta dish, a meat dish and a desert. Until we managed to track down the two English waiters, Keiran and Brendan (who were extremely helpful) we weren’t really too sure how the whole process worked and even after that it was still a bit confusing. When we arrived it was 7 euros for 2 courses and 13 euros for 3 courses, during the stay the price changed to an outrageous amount, 19 euros for 2 courses and 24 euros for 3 courses. We ended up spending 38 euros for 2 starters and 2 tomato pasta dishes!! The English waiters were going out there way to help us and nothing was too much hassle, im sure the other waiters are just as good but because of such a MASSIVE language barrier, if Kieran and Brendan weren’t in or were busy, it was very difficult to get a waiters attention and then explain what it was you wanted.

Please be warned, that when you are told there is nothing local to this resort, there really is nothing local, if you walk along the coast to where the lighthouse is there is a very small town that has a pizzeria and a café which takes about 40 minutes to walk to. If the walk along the coast the other way there is a village with shops and restaurants, but this walk took us about 2 and a half hours. There is no public transport anywhere!! The hotel do excursions and provide you transport if you want to go anywhere but this is all combined with pickups and drop offs for flights so again be warned. We done a trip to Palermo and on the way back we had to wait at the airport for over an hour to pick up people staying at the resort.

If you are after a cheap holiday where you can just literally relax by the pool or beach then this is the place for you. if you want somewhere with things to do outside the resort I would look elsewhere. We were lucky that it was absolutely boiling hot whilst we were there

We held a company retreat at the resort and it was exceptional! The staff were friendly and spoke a multitude of languages.
There was a show put on by the entertainment team in the outdoors Amphitheatre on the last night which rounded off the weekend perfectly.
Weather wise, we had 3 scorching days and the massive swimming pool was perfect to cool down in.
I would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting a nice break in the sun.

Ciao. Non saprei, Kartibbubbo è un villaggio che ha incredibilmente cambiato spesso gestione negli ultimi anni. Per avere una vacanza sicura, a mio parere, credo sia meglio ed economico cercare un App. o una villetta in affitto.

La struttura è adatta ad accogliere famiglie con bambini di diversa età, poichè offre due piscine, di cui una adatta ai più piccoli, un miniclub con area giochi e animazione diurna e serale per grandi e piccini. Per rispondere alla sua domanda in merito al confronto con San Vito Lo Capo, le caratteristiche costiere di Kartibubbo sono geologicamente differenti ma il Resort gode di un mare cristallino e di una lunghissima spiaggia incontaminata e dotata di tutte le attrezzature per rendere il vostro soggiorno confortevole.
